Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern Christmas Card

Consider using a non-holiday stamp set and dies for your Christmas cards! For today’s card I used the Forever Fern Stamp Set and Forever Flourishing Dies along with sentiments from the Brightest Glow Stamp Set. The quiet earth tones on this card along with the texture provided by the Fern 3D Embossing Folder and the die cut greenery make for a quiet, subtle and beautiful card. Your nature loving friends or family would love to receive this card for Christmas!

I started by embossing a panel of Mossy Meadow using the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. This embossing folder provides so much texture! A strip of the beautiful gold Shimmer Ribbon was then adhered across the top of the embossed panel and secured to the back using Tear & Tape. Several images from the Forever Fern Stamp Set were stamped then die cut and arranged on the card front. The greenery cut from the Evening Evergreen cardstock was highlighted using white craft ink.

To keep with the subdued color palette on this card the sentiment was stamped in Real Red ink onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Banner ends were hand cut on each side of the sentiment and the label was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A bow was tied from the gold Simmer Ribbon and adhered at the top of the card.

A second sentiment was added to the inside of the card and a leaf image was second-generation stamped in Mossy Meadow over top of the sentiment. The same leaf image adorns the front of the envelope as well as the envelope flap.

HOLD THE DATE – You’re Invited! World Card Making Day on October 1!

Stampin’ Up! and my team, the Inkin’ Krew, will be celebrating World Card Making Day on October 1st! Everyone is invited!  Our team will be hosting a fun all-day event on Saturday, October 1st in honor of World Card Making Day. The event will feature card making presentations live on the event Facebook page as well as some fun giveaways! 

Stampin’ Up! will also be hosting an event online (see the details below) and we’re scheduling our event so that it runs before and after the Stampin’ Up! event!  Most of us will be using one of the three bundles from the Stampin’ Up! event for our projects so you will come away from the day with tons of ideas for those three bundles!

Free Virtual Craft-Along Event with Stampin’ Up!

Stampin’ Up! Stylish Sketches Birthday Card

This lovely birthday card was created using the Stylish Sketches Stamp Set, Wildflower Path Stamp Set and the Rings of Love 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. Both the Stylish Sketches Stamp Set and the Rings of Love 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper are Sale-A-Bration items that you can earn for free. The Rings of Love 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper coordinates with the Ringed With Nature Bundle which can be found in the July-December Mini Catalog. Hurry, though…Sale-A-Bration ends tomorrow!

I started with a white cardstock panel measuring 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ and stamped the leaf and berry image from the Stylish Sketches Stamp Set in the upper left and lower right in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. A Blender Pen was used to color in the images with Poppy Parade, Mint Macaron, Soft Suede and Crushed Curry inks. I chose the Ralph Waldo Emerson quote from the Wildflower Path Stamp Set as the sentiment for the center of this panel which was stamped in Poppy Parade ink.

A piece of the Rings of Love DSP was matted to a Poppy Parade cardstock mat, then this unit was adhered to the front of the card base. The stamped and colored white panel was also matted to a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock. I piece of Baker’s Twine was wrapped around this unit twice and tied with a bow. This unit was then centered over the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The same leaf and berry image was stamped onto the inside card panel as well as the envelope front and colored using the same inks as the card front panel. A piece of coordinating Rings of Love DSP was used to decorate the envelope flap. The card front was finished off with several Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots.

I love a double-matted card! I think it adds a little something extra and the double matting combined with the beautiful image from the Stylish Sketches Stamp Set and Rings of Love DSP is the perfect touch.

Stampin’ Up! Kindest Gnomes Christmas Card

The Kindest Gnomes Bundle (stamps and dies) and the Storybook Gnomes 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper is just adorable! Who doesn’t love a cute little Gnome?

A winter scene was created for today’s card using these products. Our Gnome is standing on a snow hill and the mushrooms and gnome house are frosted from the cold, but our Gnome is bringing warm wishes for the holiday season!

I started with a card base in Pacific Point. A piece of the Storybook Gnomes DSP in varying shades of blue snowflakes adorns the card front along with the Gnome and his toadstool home. A piece of white glimmer paper was used to create the snow hill and the gnome and house were stamped and colored using Stampin’ Blends then die cut. The snowflakes, house, and mushroom were dusted with Wink of Stella for some extra sparkle. A sentiment label was added to the card front along with a Glittered Organdy Ribbon bow and rhinestones. Sentiments from the Brightest Glow Stamp Set were used. This is a must have stamp set if you’re making Christmas cards…beautiful sentiments and fonts!

The inside of the card shows a strip of coordinating DSP and the sentiment “Merry Christmas” is stamped in Pacific Point.

Blues are not traditional colors for Christmas – we usually think of reds and greens – but I’m loving all of the blues in this card. Beautiful!

The Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set and Gnomes Dies are not just for Christmas, though. This bundle can be used for a number of different cards. I’ve seen several samples using this bundle for Fall-themed cards, Halloween cards, and this bundle would be perfect for Valentine cards and birthday cards too!

Stampin’ Up! Christmas Lights Holiday Card

Check out the twinkling stars and lights on this Christmas card! Today’s card was made using the Christmas Lights Bundle and the Brightest Glow Bundle. Both of these bundles can be found in the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. Beautiful images and greetings in these bundles!

I started off by die cutting a Christmas tree from a piece of Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper. This paper is a perfect complement to the Christmas Lights Bundle! The coordinating dies cut (outline and detailed dies) out numerous points of light so of course I die cut a second Christmas tree from Brushed Metallic Gold cardstock – but only the outline of the tree this time – and dropped the gold tree behind the DSP tree so that all of the gold shines through.

Once the Christmas Tree was assembled, I temporarily positioned the tree on the black cardstock to determine placement of stars which were die cut from the black cardstock. Both the Twinkly Lights Dies and the Labels Aglow Dies have stars, so there is a sufficient number to make one pass in your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine…cool!

Once the black cardstock was die cut I adhered this panel to a mat in Brushed Metallic gold cardstock, then adhered this to the card front. The Christmas tree and sentiment label were adhered to the black panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a Satin Edged Ribbon bow to the top of the tree and this completed the card front.

An additional sentiment was stamped on the inside panel as well as the image of the Christmas tree and this panel was matted with a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock then adhered to the inside of the card.

The envelope was decorated with a stamped image of the Christmas tree on the front and coordinating DSP was adhered to the envelope flap.

I had so much fun playing with these bundles! I’m looking forward to creating more Christmas cards using these sets. I had debated on creating a center step fun fold for this card but opted for an easel card instead. A center step fun fold would be perfect to show off this beautiful tree…stay tuned!

Stampin’ Up! Sweet Sunflowers Paper Pumpkin Kit

I don’t have a project sheet for you today, Instead I wanted to share my recently completed August Sweet Sunflowers Paper Pumpkin Kit! Gorgeous, simple and easy!

The August kit – Sweet Sunflowers – made a total of 9 cards in three different designs. I can’t begin to describe just how beautiful these cards turned out. I don’t think my photos really do them justice. The kit materials are high quality, and you can choose to complete the kits per the instructions or change things up and put your own spin on the design. As I mentioned yesterday on my blog, Stampin’ Up! and my team, the Inkin’ Krew, will be celebrating World Card Making Day on October 1st! Everyone is invited!  Our team will be hosting a fun all-day event on Saturday, October 1st in honor of World Card Making Day. The event will feature card making presentations live on the event Facebook page as well as some fun giveaways!

Stampin’ Up! Celebrate With Tags

Many of us have started making our Christmas cards in preparation for the holidays, but don’t forget to make gift tags!

The Celebrate With Tags Stamp Set and Celebrations Tag Dies are great for creating gift tags and gift card holders. Pull out the paper of your choice, ribbon and embellishments and have some FUN creating your gift tags!

For my tags I used the Real Red & White 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper, the Lights Aglow 6″ x 6 Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Silver & Gold 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper. The Silver & Gold 6″ x 6″ paper is a Sale-A-Bration item…but only through August 31st…so grab it now!

For one of the tags and the gift card holder I used red glimmer paper and die cut a snowflake from the Celebrations Tag Dies. For the white and gold tag, I stamped the mittens and a sentiment from the Celebrate With Tags Stamp Set and die cut the pieces to decorate the tag front.

If you’d like to stamp an additional sentiment on the inside of your gift tag, just run a second piece of cardstock through with the tag die, glue to the outer tag, stamp your sentiment on the inside of the tag and done! You can also cut the inside tag in half and glue just one side to the inside of your outer tag if you’re looking to conserve card stock (shown below).

I had a blast making these tags and they are quick and easy! I hope you’ll give them a try!

Stampin’ Up! Apple Harvest Get Well Card

Happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed a nice weekend! Our weather here in the Mid-Atlantic has been beautiful and me and the Westies have been spending time on our deck relaxing!

The Apple Harvest Stamp Set and the Apple Blossom Dies along with the Gingham Cottage 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper were used to create today’s card. This set creates beautiful cards that could be used for birthdays, friendship, and thinking of you cards as well!

The Apple Harvest Stamp Set can be found in the July-December Mini Catalog but you won’t find the Apple Blossom Dies in any catalog. The Apple Blossom Dies are being offered during the Perfect Partners promotion which begins on September 1 and ends on September 30.

I started off with a Thick Basic White card base and added a panel of the Gingham Cottage DSP to the card front. On a Basic White panel I used Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp the apple image. The image of the trellis was also second generation stamped around this panel in Granny Apple Green ink to fill in some of the negative space and to add interest. The apple image was colored in using Stampin’ Blends.

The Apple Blossom Dies were used to create three apple blossoms. I used a sponge dauber and Blushing Bride ink to put a little color on the ends of the blossom petals and used Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends to color the blossom stamens. The blossom petals and stamens were curled towards the centers, then the stamens were adhered to the center of the flowers using a small drop of liquid glue.

The sentiment was stamped onto a sentiment label and a sponge dauber was used to blend a little Granny Apple Green ink around the label edges. The stamped and colored apple panel and the sentiment label were adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment label slightly overlaps the edge of the stamped panel.

A double bow was tied using linen thread and the bow was adhered to the top of the apple branch. The die cut apple blossoms were then adhered to the card front using glue.

A partial image of the same stamp used on the card front was also stamped on the inside panel as well as the envelope front and colored in using Stampin’ Blends. A coordinating piece of the Gingham Cottage DSP adorns the envelope flap.

This completes today’s card! What beautiful images this bundle creates!

Stampin’ Up! Rustic Harvest Thinking of You Card

This Thinking of You card uses the Rustic Harvest 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper, some fussy cutting, a little cardstock and a few embellishments. The Rustic Harvest paper is beautiful and can stand on its own, or you can do a little fussy cutting to take your card to the next level. What gorgeous paper!

I started with a card base in Cajun Craze and added a panel of the Rustic Harvest paper in Crushed Curry to the card front. Next, a section of the Rustic Harvest paper pattern with flowers and black background was used to fussy cut around the flowers. This panel was adhered to the card front.

The sentiment label was matted in Cajun Craze and stretches across the bottom width of the card to add some visual interest.

Several additional flowers and a leaf were also fussy cut, and these were popped up on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I fussy cut three of the small butterflies from the DSP. To add a little dimension the butterfly wings were slightly bent upwards and only one wing was adhered to the card front with the second wing of the butterflies raised up slightly. A few Matte Black Dots adorn the card front as well.

A strip of DSP was added to the inside panel of the card and coordinating DSP adorns the envelope flap.

Cardmaking doesn’t get any easier than this using some pretty paper and minimal supplies! You’ll want to add the Rustic Harvest 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper to your shopping cart!

Stampin’ Up! Penguin Place Holiday Card

This handsome Penguin is delivering gifts, candy and a whole lot of Christmas cheer! How cute is this little guy?

I used the Penguin Place Stamp Set, Penguin Builder Punch and the Jingle Jingle Jingle Stamp Set to create this card along with the Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper and Red & White Glimmer Paper. All of these items can be found in the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog.

The card base is in Evening Evergreen and a piece of the Lights Aglow Specialty Designer Series Paper was adhered to the card front. The Penguin was stamped onto a piece of Basic White cardstock in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, the beak and feet were stamped in Mango Melody ink, and the bow tie was stamped in Real Red ink. I then used the Penguin Builder Punch to punch out the penguin.

The gift stamp from the Penguin Place Stamp Set was used and I stamped this image three times in three different color inks – Evening Evergreen, Real Red and Soft Succulent. The Santa hat and candy canes were also stamped onto white cardstock. The Santa hat was first stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, and the center of the hat was colored in using a Real Red Stampin’ Blend marker. The candy canes were stamped in Real Red ink. All of these stamped pieces were then fussy cut.

A piece of white glimmer paper was used for the snowy hill. I started with a piece of glimmer paper measuring 4-1/8″ wide by approximately 2″ tall. I then used my paper snips to hand cut the hill. You could use a die to die cut the hill, but it was just as easy to hand cut. Just remember to keep the curves in your hill smooth when cutting. The snowy hill was then adhered to the card front using glue. Glue was only applied towards the bottom of the hill. I lined up the bottom of the hill with the bottom of the DSP panel on the card front.

I adhered the Santa hat to the top of the Penguin’s head and the Penguin was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I placed the Penguin on the top center of the snowy hill. The candy canes were tucked slightly under the snowy hill and to the left of the Penguin at slight angles. The gifts were adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and stacked one on top of the other, again at slight angles to each other.

The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of white cardstock and adhered to a piece of coordinating DSP. The sentiment label was attached to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A small bow was tied using Real Red ribbon from the Real Red & Garden Green Ribbon Combo Pack and adhered to the left of the sentiment label using a Mini Glue Dot.

The pine tree stamp from the Penguin Place Stamp Set was stamped onto the inside panel in Evening Evergreen ink along with an additional sentiment. This panel was then adhered to the inside of the card. The same pine tree was stamped onto the envelope front. A piece of coordinating DSP was adhered to the envelope flap and fussy cut.

To finish off the card multiple Rhinestone Basic Jewels were applied to the card front.

I love happy cards and this card is definitely happy! Young or old, this card is sure to bring a smile to the recipients’ face!

You’re Invited! World Card Making Day on October 1!

As I mentioned yesterday on my blog, Stampin’ Up! and my team, the Inkin’ Krew, will be celebrating World Card Making Day on October 1st! Everyone is invited!  Our team will be hosting a fun all-day event on Saturday, October 1st in honor of World Card Making Day. The event will feature card making presentations live on the event Facebook page as well as some fun giveaways! 

Stampin’ Up! will also be hosting an event online (see the details below) and we’re scheduling our event so that it runs before and after the Stampin’ Up! event!  Most of us will be using one of the three bundles from the Stampin’ Up! event for our projects so you will come away from the day with tons of ideas for those three bundles!

All are welcome to join us for this fun-filled day!  We’ll be setting up a Facebook page to host the event and will be sharing the link to the page in late September.  Keep an eye out on my blog for more details! 

Free Virtual Craft-Along Event with Stampin’ Up!

Stampin’ Up! is also hosting a free, virtual card making event on October 1st.  In just under three hours, Stampin’ Up will make three unique cards and will share the instructions with you.  Everyone is invited and welcome, and registration is not required.  Mark your calendars now!
