Singing the Blues…and Greens (One Sheet Wonder) Card Project / Waves of the Ocean Collection Open March 1 for Customer Orders / March Savings Offer!

One Sheet Wonders are quick and easy to create! Essentially, you are creating your own designer paper using just stamps and ink and a full sheet of cardstock. Multiple images are stamped across the sheet of cardstock, then the cardstock can be cut up into four pieces to create four cards. I’m only showing one of the four cards I created from my One Sheet Wonder.

I chose a blue and green theme for my One Sheet Wonder. The colors I selected were Misty Moonlight, Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen and Granny Apple Green. I cut a panel from my One Sheet Wonder which was mounted onto a Granny Apple Green mat. Using VersaMark Ink I stamped the large flower and a sentiment onto white cardstock. I then sprinkled gold embossing powder over the stamped images and heat set using the heat tool. The gold embossed flower was then fussy cut and glued to a Granny Apple Green circle which I had die cut. I used the Every Day Label punch to punch out the gold embossed sentiment and both were adhered to the card front. I added a Misty Moonlight bow. Some stamping of the large flower image and small cluster of green flowers were also stamped on the card’s inside mat, as well as the front of the envelope and envelope flap. This completed the card.

One Sheet Wonders don’t have to be just flowers and leaves…you can use any stamps you have to create a card for a baby shower or child’s birthday, for example. Give it a try…but be warned…it’s a little addicting!

Happy Friday everyone!

Any day paper crafting is a fun day, but I thought we’d do something extra fun today! This cute two-handled basket can be made from one sheet of 12″ x 12″ DSP and less than one sheet of thick white cardstock, plus decorations.

Because this is a paper basket it can’t hold a lot of weight but below are a few ways you can use the basket. Depending on the DSP you select along with decorations, you could use this basket for a number of different gifting opportunities.

  • Easter Basket – fill with grass and candy or eggs
  • Gift Basket for small lotions or body sprays
  • Cupcake Carrier – this basket will hold 4 decorated cupcakes
  • Other Homemade Treats – breads, muffins or rolls
  • Gift Basket for Children – matchbox cars, crayons, markers, or small bottles of bubbles

Waves of the Ocean Double Easel Card

Our card today shows a sunset and red sky so it’s smooth sailing all the way! This double easel card uses the Waves of the Ocean Collection. A very special collection of products – stamps, dies, designer series paper, specialty foil paper and beautiful rhinestone jewels in greens and blues.

This card depicts a setting sun with a wave crashing onto shore with colors of yellow, red and orange being thrown into the sky. A few clouds and seagulls complete the scene. This card would be ideal for anyone that loves the beach. The inside of the card has its own beautiful sky and crashing wave as does the envelope front.

Honeybee Home Card Project / Savings are in Bloom!

When designing this card, I was torn between using Pale Papaya or Smokey Slate as the accent to compliment the beautiful designer paper – both colors are in the paper. I reached out to friends on my Inky Bee Stampers Facebook page to ask their opinion. The winner is…Pale Papaya! Thanks to those that responded!

These cards required some die cutting before putting all of the pieces together but came together quickly! The Heart & Home Suite, which includes the Blessings of Home bundle and the Honeybee home bundle, is beautiful and romantic. Pretty Pansy Birthday Card / Waves of the Ocean Project Coming Later This Week

What can be prettier than a flower bed full of pansies? This cheerful pansy card is sure to send along the best of birthday greetings. Pansies remind me of little faces peeking up towards the sun…so cheerful!

I started off by embossing a white cardstock mat with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder. To me, the texture of this embossing folder looks like a stone garden path. Added to the card is a circle of pansies from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper fringed by a Fresh Fresia scalloped circle. I added a strip of checkered Fresh Fresia DSP underneath the circle of pansies and the sentiment tag, added a bow and some bumblebees to complete the card.

Hello Friend Quilted Card Project / 8 Days Remaining for Sale-A-Bration!

Hello Friend quilted card project

Today’s card project uses the Friendly Hello Stamp Set and coordinating Friendly Hello 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. Credit goes to Wendy Cranford for the idea for today’s card.

I started off by cutting an 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ card base from Thick Basic White cardstock, scoring at 4-1/4″. A Basic White mat measuring 5-1/4″ x 4″ was cut. On this mat a pencil line was drawn from the upper left corner to the lower right corner to be used as a guideline for placing the first strip onto the mat. 3/4″ x 7″ strips were cut from the Friendly Hello DSP. Strips were then randomly placed on the mat, occasionally changing direction and ensuring that the paper ends of the strips match flush with the strip they are touching. The strips will hang over the edges of the mat which are then trimmed flush to the mat. The result is a quilted background card front! How cool is this?

To finish off the card the mat was adhered to the front of the card front. A sentiment label was die cut from third smallest rectangular dies from the Stitched So Sweetly dies in Fresh Fresia and a greeting from the Hello Friend stamp set was stamped onto the label, then popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A linen thread double bow was added to the sentiment label. A strip of coordinating DSP was used on the inside of the card as well as on the envelope flap to finish the card off.

I had fun making this card – being a quilter it reminded me of picking out fabrics for a new quilt! This card project took significantly less time than making a quilt, though (smile)! Be sure to take advantage during Sale-A-Bration to secure these free items – you won’t want to miss them!

Fun Treat Box Using New Horizons Designer Series Paper

Happy Friday! Today closes out my focus on the New Horizons Designer Series Paper. I hope you’ve enjoyed the card projects throughout the week. I was saving a special project for Friday and here it is!

This sweet little box measures 2″ X 2″ and stands 3″ tall. It’s the perfect size to fit an Easter Egg, or a special treat or two. Making the box portion of this project goes quickly, I spent a little bit more time die cutting, coloring, and assembling the pansy to decorate the top of the box. The ribbon is adhered to itself, and the flower adhered to the ribbon, so the ribbon acts like a belly band to keep the box closed.

Depending on how you decorate the box, this would be a suitable project for a woman, man, child or teen. I have fallen in love with making boxes out of card stock as they are practical! With all of the decorating options available, these boxes are also beautiful. I urge you to give box making a try…I promise you’ll be hooked and surprised at how quickly they come together.

For this box the New Horizons DSP adorns the side panels of the box base and box lid. The New Horizons DSP is two-sided. As you’ve seen from some of the card projects this week, one side of the paper depicts beautiful watercolor prints, while the reverse side of the paper is a little more abstract. I used the reverse side of one of the sheets of paper which features Pale Papaya and white in what I would call a “quiet” print. The Pale Papaya blends well with Calypso Coral.

New Horizons Two-Panel Sunset Card Project / March Paper Pumpkin Kit Now Available – Beyond The Horizon

This is the last of the New Horizons Designer Series Paper cards for this week. I’ll be back tomorrow, though, with a special project (not a card!) that you can complete quickly, and which uses the New Horizons paper.

The purpose of highlighting the New Horizons DSP this week was to illustrate just how beautiful Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper is and how you can incorporate these papers into your stash to make simple, beautiful and easy cards without a lot of fuss. The panels were adhered to a coordinating cardstock mat and the sentiment was stamped directly onto a piece of coordinating DSP, matted and popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

New Horizons Seashell Card

If you noticed a Beach theme in my cardmaking lately, you wouldn’t be wrong. The beach is one of my happy places! Spoiler alert…you’re going to get to see another beach-themed card next week made from a very special bundle. That’s all I can share for now so stay tuned!

Today’s card uses the New Horizons 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper once again. If you haven’t decided yet to purchase this paper, what are you waiting for? From my New Horizons paper pack, I selected a 6″ x 6″ sheet of paper that looked like a beach scene – blue sky, sandy beach, and a shoreline. I stamped one of the larger seashell images from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set onto a piece of Basic White card stock, then using a sponge dauber, added some Pale Papaya ink to the white areas of the stamped image for a more realistic look. A scrap piece of coordinating DSP was used for the sentiment label. I did add a bow to this card. You may choose to add some gems…or nothing at all! For the inside of the card a 1″ strip of coordinating DSP was adhered to the Basic White mat and Pale Papaya was used to color the edges of the basic white mat. This completes today’s card – how easy is this?
