Stampin’ Up! Hope & Prayer Card

Sometimes we need to send hope and prayers to friends or family. This quick and easy card uses the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set and the Decorative Borders Stamp Set and only two ink and cardstock colors.

I started by using the diamond border stamp from the Decorative Borders Stamp Set and stamped the border around the four edges of a Basic White panel. I stamped the sentiment “You are in my prayers” in Night of Navy ink onto the lower third of the panel. The Dove from the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set was stamped in Balmy Blue ink above the sentiment. The panel was adhered to a mat in Night of Navy, then this unit was adhered to a card base in Basic White Thick cardstock.

On the inside panel, I stamped an additional sentiment from the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set in Night of Navy ink. The cross from the same stamp set was stamped over the sentiment using Balmy Blue ink. The panel was adhered to another mat in Night of Navy then the unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

The envelope front was stamped with the Dove in Balmy Blue ink from the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set and I stamped the small flower scroll on the envelope flap – also in Balmy Blue ink.

Stampin’ Up! Ginkgo Branch Encouragement Card

Elegant cards do not have to be difficult! I used the beautiful Ginkgo Branch Bundle and the dotted Basics 3D Embossing Folder to create today’s card. The Basics 3D Embossing Folders are available now as an Online Exclusive! You’ll want to check them out!

I started by embossing a Very Vanilla cardstock panel using the dotted 3D Basics Embossing Folder. Using a blending brush, Old Olive ink was lightly blended across the embossed surface then the panel was adhered to an Old Olive card base.

Using the Ginkgo Branch Dies, I die cut the large Ginkgo image from Old Olive cardstock. Again, using a blending brush, I darkened the tips of the Ginkgo leaves with Old Olive ink. The die cut was then adhered to the center of the card front.

A sentiment from the Ginkgo Branch Stamp Set was stamped onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and I used the label die from the Ginkgo Branch Dies set to cut out the sentiment label. The label was adhered at the base of the Gingko die cut on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The dark shade of an Old Olive Stampin’ Blend was used to color in three Rhinestone Basic Jewels and these were adhered to the card front. A small bow was tied using Old Olive ribbon from the Old Olive & Sahara Sand Ribbon Combo Pack and the bow was adhered just under the sentiment label.

For the inside of the card, a partial image of the Ginkgo leaves was second-generation stamped onto the upper left and lower right corners of a Very Vanilla panel and the panel was adhered to the inside of the card.

For the envelope I simply second-generation stamped Ginkgo leaves along the envelope flap and envelope front to finish up the card! The Ginkgo Branch Bundle was not a set I was initially interested in but after using the set I’m hooked! It’s just lovely! You can find the Ginkgo Branch Bundle in the Jan-Apr 2023 Mini Catalog.

Stampin’ Up! Grassy Grove Encouragement Card

I’ve used the Grassy Grove Stamp Set and Grove Dies to make several cards in the past – one was a spring themed card and the other was a summer themed card. Today I’m using the Grassy Grove stamps and dies to create a fall-themed card. Here are the previous cards made from the Grassy Grove set.

I love the versatility of these stamps and dies!

For today’s card I started with a card base in Crushed Curry. I first created a background that would sit behind the large tree die cut frame and I stamped a row of pine trees towards the bottom of this panel then used blending brushes to create the sky using Balmy Blue and Gorgeous Grape.

For the tree frame die cut I used blending brushes again to color the entire frame in Daffodil Delight ink, then came back with Mossy Meadow to blend a little green onto the die cut frame for the leaves on the trees. Crushed Curry was also blended in spots to darken the tree canopy. A Stampin’ Blend was used on the frame to darken some of the leaves in Cajun Craze then I blended this out a bit with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend. The tree trunks were colored in using Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. The die cut tree frame was adhered to the background panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals, then this unit was adhered to a Mossy Meadow mat and adhered to the card front with liquid glue.

For the foreground of the scene, I stamped the small hill and used sponge daubers to ink up the stamp in Mossy Meadow, Gorgeous Grape and Crushed Curry then stamped this on white cardstock. This image was die cut and adhered to the die cut tree frame using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Several greenery sprigs were die cut in Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow and Granny Apple Green and tucked under the hill die cut.

A sentiment from the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink onto Crushed Curry cardstock then adhered to a mossy meadow mat. A small linen thread double bow was adhered to the upper left of the sentiment label along with a small leaf sprig.

Pine trees were stamped in Mossy Meadow on the inside panel and this panel was adhered to a Mossy Meadow mat, then adhered inside of the card base. Pine trees also adorn the envelope front and envelope flap.

The Grassy Grove Stamp Set and Grove Dies are one of my favorite sets! I’ve started planning how I’ll create a winter scene with this set and I already have some ideas on how to accomplish this – it has become a personal challenge for me to create a card for each season using this set.

This is such a satisfying set to play with! I was going to say it is a satisfying set to “work” with…but that wouldn’t be accurate…it’s too much fun! I hope you give this card a try and put your own spin on a fall scene.

Painted Pheasant Encouragement Card

If I close my eyes, I can still see the pheasant’s rising up out of the tall grass in the hay field next to my grandparent’s house – flying in short bursts. I loved when I would find a pheasant tail feather in the field, and I was fascinated by the black ringed pattern on the feather. That’s why I purchased this stamp set…for the good memories!

Today’s card uses the Painted Pheasant Stamp Set which will be available on July 1 in the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. I also used the Beauty of Friendship Stamp Set (Annual Catalog) as well as the beautiful Pretty Prints Designer Series Paper.

The card sits on a Cajun Craze base. I stamped and colored the pheasant using a variety of Stampin’ Blends then fussy cut the image out and adhered the pheasant to the layered circles. The circle background behind the pheasant was stamped using the “tree top” from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set in Evening Evergreen to resemble bushes and I blended Balmy Blue on this circle to resemble the sky. If you’re curious as to the coloring of a pheasant, just search on Google for images of pheasants. The panels on this card are adorned with the beautiful Pretty Prints DSP in evening evergreen.

Perfectly Penciled Encouragement Card / My New Favorite Tool – Magnetic Cutting Plate / June Paper Pumpkin Kit – Pick of the Crop

Perfectly penciled encouragement card

This card uses the Perfectly Penciled 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper along with the Sending Smiles Bundle. The paper in the Perfectly Penciled DSP pack is all in black and white. You can choose to leave the paper as is, or color in the images, or color in only the background. I chose to color in these flowers on this paper using a variety of Stampin’ Blends. The Blends I used are mostly softer colors, with a bright and bold pop of Sweet Sorbet, which is one of the new 2022-2024 In Colors. I love the pop of red on this card! I even colored a piece of the DSP for the envelope flap.

Not to be overshadowed by this beautiful DSP, the Sending Smiles Bundle includes a variety of sentiments and flower images that can be stamped and die cut, including two banner dies to cut out the smaller font greetings. It’s a great set which I’ll be using more of in the future. You can find both the Perfectly Penciled DSP and the Sending Smiles Bundle in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.

You can view the project sheet for this card by clicking on the icon below.

my new favorite tool – magnetic cutting plate

If you’re like me, you love to die cut images for your cards! Stampin’ Up! released the newly designed Magnetic Cutting Plate in the new Annual Catalog and it’s fantastic! When die cutting stamped images I would use Washi tape to hold the dies in place while die cutting. No more! The new Magnetic Cutting Plate holds your dies in place while cutting and works beautifully.

The Magnetic Cutting Plate is a thin, fully magnetic sheet with a self-healing cutting surface. The Magnetic Cutting Plate (Plate 5) holds dies securely in place, even nested dies. This slim, portable sheet replaces a Cutting Plate in your sandwich. The plate is currently available for the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine but is not available yet for the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Stampin’ Up! is working on a magnetic plate for the Mini and it will hopefully be released in the near future. Note: Be aware that the sandwich instructions that come with the plate are incorrect. Stampin’ Up! is aware of this issue and is working on correcting the instructions that come with the plate. The correct sandwhich is Plate #1 (Base Plate), Plate #5 (Magnetic Cutting Plate), and Plate #3 (Cutting Plate).

Click below if you’re interested in checking out the Magnetic Cutting Plate for use with your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

This serene encouragement card features the Wisteria Wishes bundle and depicts wisteria hanging in a window opening with a meadow scene in the background. I love the simplicity of only a few colors on this card. The card is adorned with an Orchid Oasis Woven Metallic Ribbon.

The Wisteria Wishes stamp set and dies are versatile! Did you know that if you turn the 3-wisteria stamp upside down the image makes lovely pine trees? I’m looking forward to creating a holiday card using this stamp set. Also, the wisteria can stand upright (rather than hanging down) to make flowers such as lavender, lupine or salvia. We’re only limited by our imaginations! What will you create with the Wisteria Wishes set? Let me know in the comments below.

stampin’ up! shipping and production update

Supply chain shortages, global shipping delays, labor shortages, and transportation and delivery difficulties continue. We ask that you please be patient when placing an order. Stampin’ Up! is working hard to minimize any issues.

The Stampin’ Up! North American distribution center is running about two days behind.  Due to supply chain challenges, Stampin’ Up! has not been able to manufacture ink collections sufficient to meet demand. They anticipate a 1–2-month delay in availability, though they are doing their best to minimize any delay. As inventory is manufactured, they will fulfill orders as quickly as possible. The delay does not apply to In Colors. If using the online ordering system, if a product is available it will come up in the search. If the item you are looking for does not pop up in the search, the item is currently not available.

If you have any questions about ordering or availability of a particular product or products, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Starry Night / Why It’s a Great Time to Join the Stampin’ Up! Team

Starry Night

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend!

Today’s card uses the Waves of Inspiration and Paradise Palms stamp sets, the lovely Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper and white embossing powder. This is a fun fold card and really highlights the beautiful DSP. FYI – this DSP is still available so grab it before May 2nd it you want it.

This card is my take on the ocean at night. The ocean already seems mysterious to me but at night, especially so! I love watching the moonlight highlight the white tops of waves.

This card required only stamping of the images on the square Night of Navy and Coastal Cabana panels, the heat setting the embossing powder. The DSP panels were glued into place, then I adhered the square front panel to the left edge of the card front to complete the card. A sentiment label was added and a spattering of Rhinestone Basic Jewels for the “stars” in the sky completes the card. A piece of coordinating DSP was added to the envelope flap.

Remember to Breathe! On The Horizon Encouragement Card / Retiring and Last Chance Products – Don’t Delay! / NEW 2022-2024 In Colors

Remember to breathe!

We’ve all been there. Life can get hectic and sometimes we just need a reminder to step back and take a deep breath and calm our minds. The dies and stamps in the On The Horizon bundle are perfect for creating a tranquil landscape.

I designed the card on a Basic Black card base with a Basic White panel and die cut the pieces for the scene from various cardstock colors, but what’s so great about this is that you can use what colors of cardstock you have on hand. I had the hardest time photographing this card, though, to capture the true colors used. I think I finally nailed it. Whew!

I’ll be creating with this stamp and die set bundle again, so keep a look out for a future project. FYI – This stamp set also coordinates with the 6″ x 6″ New Horizons Designer Series Paper so be sure to check it out!
