Stampin’ Up! Good Things Come in Small Packages December Paper Pumpkin

My December Paper Pumpkin kit arrived in the mail, and I had a chance to sit down and assemble a few of the gift card boxes. This kit came with a total of 16 gift card holders – 2 each of 8 reversible designs, precut paper pieces, twine, belly bands, a Stampin’ Spot, photopolymer stamps and enough adhesive to complete each project! So basically, everything that I needed to complete the project was included!

Over the next several months I will only need a few gift card holders, so I only assembled three of the boxes and customized them for my needs. But I will be using the remaining boxes as needed and I’ll be able to customize each one.

    Stampin’ Up! Share a Milkshake Front Flap Fun Fold for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

    It’s Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! I can’t wait to see what my team members have created for today’s challenge!

    I used the Share a Milkshake Stamp Set and Dies and the Country Floral Lane 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper to create my card for today’s Hop. These items are from the upcoming January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. I had so much fun creating this card! (I am now craving a hot fudge sunday…)

    Our challenge for today ‘s Hop is a theme challenge to create a fun fold card!

    For this fun fold there are essentially two card bases. The first card base was cut from Mint Macaron cardstock and measures 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″. The second card base acts as the center “flap” and measures 8-1/2″ x 2-3/4″ and is scored at 4-1/4″.

    I selected two prints from the Country Lane Designer Series Paper pack – one in a Petal Pink flower and heart print and the second in a Sweet Sorbet stripe print. I cut two slender panels from the flower print paper to 4″ x 1-1/8″ and adhered these panels to mats in Basic White cardstock. These panels were adhered to the non-scored card base on the left and rights sides, leaving an equal reveal on three sides. The striped pattern DSP was cut to 4″ x 2-1/2″ and also adhered to a white mat, then adhered to the front of the scored card base. This scored card base was adhered to the first card base between the two slender panels.

    Using Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the chocolate ice cream, strawberry ice cream, cherry and spoon and used the coordinating dies from the Share A Milkshake Dies set to cut out the images. I also cut out an ice cream cup in Mint Macaron cardstock and a scoop of vanilla ice cream from Very Vanilla cardstock. The ice cream sundae was assembled and adhered to the center panel of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

    A sentiment was stamped onto a scrap piece of white cardstock and I fussy cut the image. The sentiment label was then adhered to the center panel of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and positioned above the dish of ice cream.

    Hearts were stamped on the inside panel in Sweet Sorbet ink and the panel was adhered to the inside of the card.

    The same heart image was stamped on the envelope front and a piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap with the excess paper being trimmed away from the flap. Several Opaque Adhesive-backed Gems were adhered to the card front to finish off the card.

    Stampin’ Up! Adorable Owls Just Because Card

    This fun, uplifting card was created using the Adorable Owls Stamp Set and the Dandy Designs 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper! I absolutely could not wait to share a card with you using this stamp set! Can you blame me? Look how cute! The Adorable Owls Stamp Set and Dandy Designs 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper are available for free with a qualifying purchase in the upcoming January-February 2023 Sale-A-Bration Catalog. Customers can begin placing orders on January 5.

    Did I mention that the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper pack is huge? It includes 48 sheets – 4 each of 12 double-sided designs! It’s awesome!

    To create this fun little card, I began with a card base in Coastal Cabana. I chose a geometric design in Balmy Blue from the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper pack and used the cloud shape die from the Basic Borders Dies set to die cut across the DSP panel. I then made a second cut using the same die and adhered both die cut pieces to a second coordinating DSP panel – this one in a square print. This unit was then adhered to a mat in Balmy Blue, then adhered to the card front.

    The flying owl was stamped onto a 3″ x 3″ piece of Basic White cardstock, and I used Stampin’ Blends in Smoky Slate, Balmy Blue and So Saffron to color in the owl. The large die from the Layering Circles Dies was used to cut out the image. The circle was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

    A length of Pool Party Grosgrain Ribbon was folded in half, and I used a small amount of Stampin’ Seal to adhere the ribbon to the card front – just to the right of the owl. A sentiment was stamped onto a white sentiment label, and I cut a banner end on the right of the label then adhered the sentiment label over top of the ribbon using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

    On the inside panel, the owl with the bow tie was stamped onto the lower right corner and colored with the Stampin’ Blends. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

    The same owl was stamped onto the envelope front and colored in. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap, and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap to finish off the envelope.

    Several Iridescent Pastel Gems were adhered to the card front to complete the card. Did I not tell you these owls are the bomb!? You’ll want to grab this stamp set and paper during Sale-A-Bration!

    The Fragrant Flowers Stamp Set and Dies were used to create today’s card along with the Fine Shimmer 12″ x 12″ Paper and the Favored Flowers 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper.     I started off with a panel of the designer series paper in a Petal Pink pattern and stamped the sentiment directly onto this panel in the lower right corner. The panel was then adhered to the card front. I adhered a piece of the gold Fine Shimmer Paper to a band of Calypso Coral cardstock and adhered the band to the card front.

    The large flower and leaf image from the Fragrant Flowers Stamp Set was stamped in Memento ink onto a piece of white cardstock and colored in using Petal Pink, Calypso Coral and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends. The image was then adhered to the card front across the gold and Calypso Coral band using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two die cut open leaves in Mossy Meadow were tucked under the large flower image. I added a double Linen Thread bow and adhered the bow between the two flowers. Several Adhesive-backed Mikly Dots were also added to the card front.

    On the inside panel I stamped the smaller flower image from the Fragrant Flowers Stamp Set and colored the image in using Stampin’ Blends. The panel was adhered to a mat in Calypso Coral and this unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

    On the envelope front, I stamped the same small flower image and colored in the image. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was added to the envelope flap, and I trimmed around the flap to finish off the envelope.

    Stampin’ Up! Two-Tone Flora Birthday Card – Another Sneak Peek from the Mini Catalog!

    Happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas! Here’s another sneak peek from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog for you! I used the Two-Tone Flora Bundle and the Fancy Flora 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper to create this pretty card. I used a sentiment from the Something Fancy Stamp Set. The Two-Tone Flora Stamp Set is a two-step stamp set, meaning that you can first stamp the detailed image, then use the coordinating stamp to stamp the solid image…very fun to play with!

    I first adhered a panel from the gorgeous Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper pack to a card base in Orchid Oasis (my absolute favorite, favorite color!). I then used the largest die to cut out the intricate floral pattern in Basic White cardstock. I trimmed down this large die cut – trimming around the cut-out flower and leaf shapes to reveal more of the pretty designer series paper underneath. The die cut panel was then adhered to the card front using very small drops of glue.

    Using Scraps of white cardstock I stamped two of the pretty Two-Tone Flora flowers in Orchid Oasis and one in Daffodil Delight. Do you like blue and yellow together as much as I do? I think it’s such a pretty combination! I also stamped two of the leaf sprigs in Soft Succulent ink. I used the coordinating dies from the Two-Tone Flora Dies set to cut out these images. I used a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend to color in the flower centers on the blue flowers and a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend to color in the center of the yellow flower.

    The flowers and leaf sprigs were dry fit onto the lower left side of the card front and when I was happy with the placement, I adhered the yellow flower and two leaf sprigs to the card front using glue. The two blue flowers slightly overlap each other and were adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

    I used a small piece of the designer series paper in Soft Succulent and stamped the sentiment onto this piece of DSP and cut the right and left sides of the sentiment label at an angle. A slightly larger piece of Orchid Oasis cardstock was matted behind the sentiment label and I used my paper snips to cut the same angles on the right and left of the mat. The sentiment label was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and was placed towards the upper right of the card front. A small double bow tied from Orchid Oasis Metallic Woven Ribbon was adhered just under the sentiment label using a Mini Glue Dot.

    For the inside panel, I stamped a single flower in Orchid Oasis and colored in the flower center with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card. The same flower was stamped onto the envelope front. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was added to the envelope flap and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap.

    To finish off the card I added some Iridescent Pastel Gems…these are gorgeous by the way!

    Now that we’re in the grip of winter (it is currently 8 degrees as I’m typing this!) it makes me happy to be working with pretty spring flower images. Spring will be here before you know it!

    Stampin’ Up! Sea Turtle Thank You Card

    As soon as I saw the Sea Turtle Stamp Set in the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog I knew I wanted to create a card pairing the sea turtle with the beautiful By The Bay 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper! The large turtle image in this stamp set is a good size – approximately 3-1/2″ long x 3-1/4″ wide! The stamps in this set are two sided with one side stamping a solid image and the opposite side stamping a detailed image. For today’s card I used only the detailed sides of the stamps.

    I started off with some stamping. I stamped the detailed image of the large turtle in Mint Macaron ink onto Mint Macaron cardstock and I fussy cut the image out. The large and small starfish were stamped in Calypso Coral ink and fussy cut. On a white panel measuring 4-1/4″ x 3-1/4″, I second-generation stamped the bubble image in Pool Party ink across the entire panel. The white panel was adhered to a Night of Navy mat.

    Stampin’ Up Watercolor Pencils in Night of Navy and Bermuda Bay were used to help define some shadows on the turtle’s fins. I then used a blender pen to soften the areas that were colored. The turtle’s nose was darkened using the Night of Navy watercolor pencil. The eyes were darkened using a Basic Black watercolor pencil.

    I chose a wave pattern piece of DSP from the By The Bay Designer Series Paper pack in Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, white and Mint Macaron and adhered this DSP to a Mint Macaron card base. The turtle was adhered to the white panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The large starfish was partially adhered onto the lower fin of the turtle with some glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals were placed under the remainder of the starfish. The small starfish was tucked under the turtle on the left.

    A sentiment from the A Fish & A Wish Stamp Set was stamped in Mint Macaron ink and die cut using the smaller of the long banner dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies set. The top of the sentiment label was adhered to the bottom of the white panel using liquid glue. Stampin’ Dimensionals were placed under the white panel and the partially overhanging sentiment label, and this unit was then adhered to the card front.

    On the inside panel I used the bubble stamp to second-generation stamp bubbles in the lower left corner of the panel using Pool Party ink. I then stamped the school of fish over the bubbles using Mint Macaron ink. The panel was then adhered to a Night of Navy mat and this unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

    I also stamped the bubbles and school of fish on the envelope front. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap, and I trimmed away the excess paper from the flap. Several Opal Rounds were added to the card front to finish off the card. I love using Opal Rounds on sea-themed cards! They look like bubbles to me…so a perfect match for our sea turtle!

    I wanted to take a minute to wish you all a Happy Holiday and to thank all of you for your support, encouragement and friendship!

    We will be celebrating Christmas at our house in just a few days. The above photo is a glimpse of our little Christmas tree…we downsized a few years ago…but I think it’s pretty! It is hard to believe that 2022 is almost over but I’m so looking forward to the new year and all of the possibilities that it holds.

    I have been with Stampin’ Up! for a little over a year now and it has been quite a journey and I have learned so much.     Stampin’ Up! Thanks A Bunch Thank You Card – Sneak Peek from the Sale-a-bration Catalog!

    I used the Thanks A Bunch Stamp Set and the Dandy Designs 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper to create today’s card. The images from the Thanks A Bunch Stamp Set are so adorable and fun and the striped paper from the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper pack are the perfect backdrop for this card! Sale-A-Bration begins on January 5 and you’ll be able to earn both of these products with a qualifying order!

    I started off with a Granny Apple Green and white stripe print panel from the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper Pack and adhered this to a Basic White mat. This unit was then adhered to a card base in Granny Apple Green.

    Three of the large carrots using the solid carrot image from the Thanks A Bunch Stamp Set were stamped in Mango Melody ink onto the 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ white panel and I angled the carrots so that the tops of the carrots were bunched together. I then used the detailed carrot stamp and stamped this image over the carrots using Pumpkin Pie ink. The larger leaf image was second-generation stamped using Granny Apple Green ink on top of the carrots and then the more detailed leaf image was stamped over top of this using Garden Green ink. This stamped panel was then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed on the card front at an angle.

    The sentiment “Hey, there” was stamped in Garden Green ink onto the Granny Apple Green sentiment label. A white mat was added behind the sentiment label and was centered left to right but flush on the bottom. To this I added a strip of the striped designer series paper and the sentiment label was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

    For the inside panel, I stamped the sentiment “Thanks a bunch” in Garden Green ink then stamped the small carrot image in Mango Melody ink in the lower left corner of the panel. The carrot tops were stamped using Garden Green ink. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

    The same small carrot image and carrot top image were stamped onto the envelope front and a coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and the excess paper was trimmed away from the flap to finish off the envelope.

    To finish off the card, I tied a small bow using Garden Green ribbon from the Real Red & Garden Green Ribbon Combo Pack and the bow was adhered to the left of the sentiment label using a Mini Glue Dot. Several Opal Rounds were also added to the card front.

    These adorable carrots from the Thanks a Bunch Stamp Set make for a great thank you card but could also be used on a card for a gardening friend! So cute! And the fun prints in the Dandy Designs 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper pack can be used for so many types of cards.

    How are everyone’s holiday preparations going? I think I’m almost to the finish line. The cookies are baked, and I made some candied pecans for the neighbors yesterday and I’ll be making some chocolate fudge for the family later today!     Stampin’ Up! Country Floral Lane Book Fold Gift Card Holder

    Happy Monday! Is everyone ready for Christmas? I’m getting there slowly!

    Today’s card was created using products from the beautiful Country Floral Lane Suite including the Country Bouquet Bundle, Country Floral Lane 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper, Real Red & Burlap Ribbon Combo Pack and Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequins. All of these items will be available on January 5 for customer ordering from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog!

    I started by adhering the designer series paper panel and designer series paper strip to the card front. For the panel I selected a print from the Country Floral Lane DSP in a Sweet Sorbet with small hearts and a Sweet Sorbet and Petal Pink stripe print for the strip on the book binding portion of the card.

    Before adhering the book binding portion of the card together, I used a short length of the Burlap ribbon and wrapped this ribbon vertically along the binding portion of the card and secured the ends to the inside of the binding section using Stampin’ Seal. I then used glue to adhere the binding section of the card together.

    On a white panel measuring 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ I used the flower and leaves stamps from the Country Bouquet Stamp Set to stamp a heart onto the panel in Sweet Sorbet and Mossy Meadow. I used the Country Bouquet Punch to punch out the hearts and leaves from another piece of paper from the Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper pack. I love when we can punch or die cut images from DSP!

    The punched hearts were adhered directly toward the bottom of the stamped panel. An additional heart was punched out from white cardstock for a sentiment label. I stamped the sentiment “For you” onto the heart in Sweet Sorbet ink, then used a sponge dauber to blend Petal Pink ink around the edges of the heart. The heart sentiment label was adhered to the panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals at an angle. Two of the punched leaves were tucked under the sentiment label. The panel was added to a mat in Petal Pink, then this unit was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

    A piece of the Real Red ribbon from the Real Red & Burlap Ribbon Combo Pack was tied in a bow around the Burlap Ribbon. Pink Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequins were added to the card front.

    On the inside of the card, I used the small solid heart stamp to stamp hearts in Sweet Sorbet ink on the lower left of the panel. The sentiment “I love that we are friends” was also stamped onto the panel in Sweet Sorbet ink. The panel was adhered to a mat in Petal Pink then this unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

    A piece of the striped Sweet Sorbet DSP measuring 3-3/4″ x 2-1/4″ was used as a gift card holder. Before adhering this piece of DSP to the inside of the card, I used the Country Bouquet Punch to punch out a small semi-circle at the top of the DSP. Glue was applied to the left, right and bottom of the DSP panel, then adhered to the inside of the card.

    The same heart stamp was used to stamp hearts on the envelope front and a piece of coordinating DSP was adhered to the envelope flap and I trimmed around the lap to finish off the envelope.

    I’ll submit the paper order by January 5, 2023.  I will expedite the order so I can get the papers back quickly, cut everything up, packaged and back out the door to you just as quickly as I possibly can.

    The deadline for participating in my Paper Share is January 3, 2023, by 7 pm Eastern.   Payments must be received on or before this deadline.

    Anyone is welcome to join in my Paper Share (please note, I can only ship to addresses within the US).  If you’d like to join, email the following information to inkybeestampers@gmail.com by the deadline indicated above.

    • Your first and last name
    • Your shipping address (where I should send the paper)
    • The email address that is connected to your Paypal account. I only accept Paypal for payment unless you are a customer of mine.  If you are a customer, I will accept payment by check.  Note:  You do not need to have a Paypal account to pay the invoice, you can choose to pay by credit card without having a Paypal account.  Note that I will send you an invoice around December 29 to the email address that you provide.     

    NOTE REGARDING PRODUCT AVAILABILITY:  Stampin’ Up! has advised us that there may be items that are unavailable when the catalog launches due to the continuing global shipping delays.  If any items that I’m offering in my shares are not available when I place my order on 5 January, I’ll refund you the amount for that item.
