Pretty Soaring Swallows Card / Last Day to Purchase the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine and Select Compatible Bundles

Pretty soaring swallows card

For anyone that knows me, I love swirly designs and delicate flowers. So, no surprise on this card design.

This card sits on a Petal Pink card base. I used the Parisian Flourish Embossing Folder (this embossing folder will be retiring soon so grab it if you want it…link included at bottom of post) to emboss a white panel and then blended Petal Pink across the embossed panel. A large circle was die cut from the Layering Circles dies. I then used the cloud stamp from the Soaring Swallows stamp set and 3rd generation stamped Balmy Blue for the clouds and then blended some Petal Pink into the clouds and around the edges of the circle.

The flower image towards the top left of the card was die cut from the Swallows dies in Petal Pink and adhered to the embossed panel.

A sentiment from the Soaring Swallows stamp set was stamped in Smokey Slate ink at the bottom of the circle. I stamped the swallow image in Smokey Slate and colored the image using Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends then die cut. Ribbon and a bow adorn the center of the circle. The swallow was adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals and I also used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the circle to the embossed panel. The embossed panel was then glued to the card base.

A white card panel was used for the inside of the card with 3rd generation stamping of clouds across the top of the panel. The envelope was finished with an image of clouds and a swallow as well on both the front of the envelope and the envelope flap. This completes today’s card.

I love the look of the Petal Pink and white with a splash of Balmy Blue to add interest. This card would be suitable as a congratulations card for a female or as a wedding congratulations.

Will you give this card a try? You can access the project sheet for this card by clicking the image below. The products used to make this card are included at the end of this blog post.

Kite Delight Birthday Card / Waves of the Ocean Collection – Product Availability Update

I have very fond memories of flying a kite at my grandparent’s house as a child. They had a nice piece of property in a country setting surrounded by fields, pasture and woods. The field sat on a hill and was the best place to launch a kite. You just had to be careful not to step in a groundhog hole! I’m going to date myself here – when I was young, we didn’t have expensive, fancy kites. The kites we used were plastic with wooden dowels to form the support and you had to put them together. My grandmother would find a few fabric scraps and we would tie these onto the kite string. In my mind I can still clearly see the kite soar and sway in the wind. Wonderful memories!

Today’s card uses the Kite Delight stamp set. What happy images in this stamp set! I used a Night of Navy card base and added accents in Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and white. This birthday card would be suitable for a child, teen, man or woman. The card contains one die cut rectangle and colored and fussy cut images – nothing too difficult to handle.

You can find all the details to make this card on the project sheet linked below.

A product list is included at the bottom of this post if you’re interested in purchasing any of the items used to make this card.

Products Used to Make Today’s Card:

Quiet Meadow Center Step Card

I CASE’d this card fold from Lisa Curcio who has a YouTube channel. I used several retiring products on this card – the Quiet Meadow Bundle, Hand-Penned designer series paper, and Matte Black Dots, as well as a retiring In Color, Misty Moonlight. If you like the look of the dies from Quiet Meadow or the DSP, be sure to check out the Last Chance products page soon before the items are gone.

I love the look of a sidestep card as they are great to really highlight the card design! The card here sits on a Mint Macaron card base. Die cut meadow flowers in Misty Moonlight, Mint Macaron and Highland Heather grace the center panel. There’s also a butterfly perched on one of the flower stems!

I know the cut for this type of card can seem daunting, but it’s really not difficult at all. Check out the pdf project sheet where I provide a diagram showing the cuts and score lines, as well as instructions on how to line these cuts and score lines up on your paper trimmer. I think you’ll be pleased with the results. Printer paper is really great to practice on if you’re nervous about cutting into your cardstock…just throwing that out there. Flowering Tulips Easter Card / Remember to Check out the Retiring and Last Chance List

flowering tulips easter card

Happy Monday! Here in the mid-Atlantic we started the weekend off with spring-like weather and by today it was snowing, and temperatures have dropped into the 30’s with 20’s expected overnight. I know it’s spring and the warmth will return very soon but it’s the end of March! I’m glad our strawberry plants are still safely tucked in with straw and they won’t be harmed by the frost. Okay, on to today’s card.

Today’s project uses the Flowering Tulips bundle and a greeting from the Easter Friends stamp set. I had so much fun playing with the Flowering Tulips bundle. I admit I had to watch a few videos to learn how to use the tulip dies. It’s not difficult but the shapes sure do look funny! It turns out that the dies place a score line on the larger tulip pieces which makes assembly easy once you know what to look for. Smart!

I chose Poppy Parade as a card base, accented by Petal Pink and the beautiful Flowering Fields 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. This paper is absolutely gorgeous!

You can find all the details on the linked project sheet by clicking on the image below.

Friday Fun Day! – Place Setting Card / Check Out the Retiring and Last Chance Items Before They are Gone

Friday Fun Day! – Place Setting Card

Happy Friday!

How adorable is this little duck splashing in a puddle? This is a very quick and simple project that will bring a smile to your dinner guest’s faces! Or use these at a children’s party to attach to a treat box!

The place setting card measures only 4″ x 2-3/4″ when folded. I used the Easter Friends stamp set for the duck image and the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut out the white panel and the name tag. These panels sit on a Pool Party card base. The duck image was stamped in Smokey Slate. I used a blender pen to color in the duck with Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie. Stampin’ Blends were used to color in the puddle. A Brushed Brass Butterfly was added to the white panel to finish the place card.

Click on the image below to download the project sheet. The products used to make this place setting card are included at the bottom of the blog post.

Remember to Breathe! On The Horizon Encouragement Card / Retiring and Last Chance Products – Don’t Delay! / NEW 2022-2024 In Colors

Remember to breathe!

We’ve all been there. Life can get hectic and sometimes we just need a reminder to step back and take a deep breath and calm our minds. The dies and stamps in the On The Horizon bundle are perfect for creating a tranquil landscape.

I designed the card on a Basic Black card base with a Basic White panel and die cut the pieces for the scene from various cardstock colors, but what’s so great about this is that you can use what colors of cardstock you have on hand. I had the hardest time photographing this card, though, to capture the true colors used. I think I finally nailed it. Whew!

I’ll be creating with this stamp and die set bundle again, so keep a look out for a future project. FYI – This stamp set also coordinates with the 6″ x 6″ New Horizons Designer Series Paper so be sure to check it out!

Ranunculus Romance All Occasion Card / New Annual Catalog Coming Soon!

ranunculus romance all occasion card

Have you ever grown Ranunculus? I’ve tried but never had any luck. They sure are beautiful, though. For today’s card I used the Ranunculus Romance and Soaring Swallows bundles.

The card sits on a Blackberry Bliss card base with a Very Vanilla panel which was embossed using the Gingham Embossing folder (which is beautiful, by the way…great texture). I die cut the large Ranunculus flower, several leaves, a flower sprig, and several Fleur de leis to complete the card. Stampin’ Blend markers were used to color the background of the Ranunculus, the leaves and flower sprig, just because coloring is fun! I used a sponge dauber to blend Crumb Cake ink around the edges of the embossed panel as well as the sentiment label – giving the card an old-world charm look. Lastly, a soaring swallow is swooping in front of the Ranunculus.

Wildflower Path Thank You Card

Happy Tuesday! Today’s card was made with the Wildflower Path stamp set and paper from the Hand-Penned 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper in Highland Heather. How pretty are these flowers standing on their tall stems? This card involves a little die cutting for the circles, some stamping and embellishments and it’s done! I just love the soft colors on this card. Do you see the tiny little brass butterflies on the card front? How cute are they! This design would be suitable for any female for a thank you, birthday or congratulations.

This stamp set would also be a great option for anyone making Easter cards as well. I may have to play with this set some more!

Hand-Penned Petals Get Well Card / Something Special for Customers in March

Hand-Penned petals get well card

The Hand-Penned Petals bundle and Designer Series Paper allow you to create beautiful cards in pastel shades. For this card I chose a Mint Macaron card base with a piece of the Hand-Penned Petals DSP as a mat and a Misty Moonlight panel running down the length of the card which showcases the die cut flower images. The flowers and leaves were die cut in white, Blushing Bride, and Mint Macaron. This card requires only a little stamping and some die cutting before assembling the card, making this a quick and easy option. A small bow and a few Opal Rounds complete the card.

A pdf project sheet is available by clicking on the image below.

Daffodil Daydream Mother’s Day Card

Happy Friday! Are your daffodils up yet? My daffodils stems are up but no blooms yet…it shouldn’t be long now. Daffodils in bloom mean spring is finally here and I can’t wait for warmer days ahead! On to today’s project.

This Mother’s Day card is made with the Daffodil Daydream stamp set. The daffodil image was stamped in VersaMark ink and gold embossing powder was applied then heat set. I used a blender pen and ink to color in the daffodil blooms and stems and the image was cut out using the largest rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly die set. The card was set against a Mossy Meadow card base with a strip of the Daffodil Afternoon designer series paper sitting behind the die cut panel. A double linen bow, sentiment and Bumblebee Trinket complete the card.
