Let’s Make a Z Fold Valentine’s Day Card / One More Month of Sale-A-Bration!

Let’s Make a Z Fold Valentine’s Day Card

Today’s card was CASE’d from Too Cool Stamping with Angie Leach, with a few minor changes. I used the Sweet Conversations Stamp Set and Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper for the card. This card contains three double-matted panels – a right a left panel and the center sentiment panel. So FUN!

I first created the card base and scored twice to create the Z Fold. I then cut and assembled the right and left front panels – Basic Black mat, Real Red mat, DSP on top. Rinse and repeat.

Next, I worked on stamping the piece of Basic White for the center, top sentiment. I used the Sweet Conversations die set, specifically the X and O, and repeatedly stamped these images in Real Red and Fresh Fresia around the perimeter of the piece of Basic White cardstock. I then used the greeting “Happy Valentine’s Day” from the same stamp set and stamped in the center of the Basic White cardstock piece. I then adhered the black and red mats and then adhered the stamped white cardstock piece to these mats. I tied a length of Real Red Satin Ribbon around this piece and tied a knot. The ribbon was placed to the left of the cardstock center. I used a few Black Matte Dots for decoration, then popped up the sentiment – adhering only to the left, front panel.

To finish off the card I used another stamp from the Sweet Conversations stamp set to stamp “Luv U” on the inside of the card. I then stamped the X and O onto the right, bottom corner of the front of the envelope and used a piece of coordinating DSP and adhered this to the envelope flap and fussy cut.

Easy, peasy! I just love this stamp set and coordinating Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper. You can find instructions for this card here. You can find a link to my Online Store on the instruction sheet. I hope you have as much fun making this card as I did!

Flowering Rain Boots / Reminder for Safari Paper Pumpkin Kit Ordering

Flowering Rain Boots Card

All of these flowers make me long for spring! And to top it off…it’s snowing at our house today into tomorrow.

The happy Flowering Rain Boots Bundle will have you longing for warmer temperatures, too. What a perfect stamp set to create that special card for your gardening friends…or anyone who enjoys the outdoors or flowers. I paired this bundle with the Heart & Home DSP and a sentiment from the Celebrating You sentiments stamp set.

The card base was cut from a piece of Evening Evergreen Cardstock. The front of the card includes a white mat underneath the Heart & Home DSP and white ribbon which I colored with Fresh Fresia ink. Boots, a pot of flowers, rake and a sentiment finish off this card. You can find instructions and a supply list for this card by clicking on the image below.

I have another idea for the Flowering Rain Boots bundle and Heart & Home DSP, but I need to work it out on paper first. Stay tuned!

Beep, Beep! New Card Tutorial / All Together Collection

Beep, Beep! Driving By and Sunshine & Rainbows DSP Sale-A-Bration Items

Beep, beep! Driving by just to say “hi”! Today’s card was made from the Driving By Stamp Set and the Sunshine & Rainbows 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. You can earn either of these items FREE during Sale-A-Bration with an order of $50 or more. Place an order of $100 or more from the current catalogs and earn both items free! A sentiment from the Special Moments stamp set was also used on this card. You can earn the Special Moments stamp set for free during Sale-A-Bration with an order of $100 or more. The Driving By stamp set is adorable and very uplifting and is suitable for children, teens, males or females. The Sunshine & Rainbows 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper is equally uplifting and cheerful!

I first stamped the VW Beetle image onto a piece of scrap Basic White Cardstock, as well as the “Driving By” greeting, then used the Stitched So Sweetly die set to cut out the images. The second to largest die was used for the car and the second to smallest die was used to cut out the greeting. I then used Stampin’ Blends to color the car image. The backend of the car was stamped on the inside of the card as well and colored in using Stampin’ Blends. I fussy cut out a cloud from one of the pieces of Sunshine & Rainbows DSP, and I selected a second piece of DSP from this same collection (polka dots) to cut and adhere a 5-1/4″ x 2″ band that runs down the left side of the card. The same DSP was used on the envelope flap to coordinate.

The images in this stamp set as well as the Designer Series Paper will be sure to make you smile! If you’d like to make this card you can check out the instructions along with the supply list by clicking here. A link to my online store is included on the instruction sheet.

Dahlia Days – Come on Summer!

Today’s card was made using the Dahlia Days Stamp Set and Detailed Dahlias Dies. I had a Dahlia in the garden this summer that was this exact shade – a deep, rich purplish-pink. Is that a color? In the case of this card, the color is Blackberry Bliss! There is no instruction sheet today as the directions are pretty straight forward.

Cuts and Background Stamping:

The card base was cut from Blackberry Bliss and measures 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″. A piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock was cut to 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″. This was used as the mat on the front of the card. I cut a second piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock for the inside greeting of the card.

I repeatedly second-generation stamped the large Dahlia from the stamp set in Blackberry Bliss – meaning I inked the stamp, stamped off on a scrap piece of paper once, then stamped onto the piece of Very Vanilla. I then used the 3-leaf stamp and stamped this across the piece of Very Vanilla in Evening Evergreen. I then used another leaf image and second-generation stamped this image across the card front in Night of Navy. The multiple stamping created a “custom” designer series paper. This custom stamped piece was then glued to the card front.

The Die Cutting:

I did lots of die cutting for this card. I first stamped the Dahlia flower twice onto Very Vanilla Cardstock, as well as the sentiment framed greeting. The frame of the sentiment was stamped in Blackberry Bliss and the greeting, from the Dahlia Days stamp set was stamped in Night of Navy. The flowers were stamped in Blackberry Bliss. I then stamped two of the leaf sets in Evening Evergreen onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Then, all pieces were die cut. I also cut the lacey looking, large die from the Detailed Dahlias Dies from Very Vanilla Cardstock, this large die cut piece was cut in half (shown on the left side of the card front). Here is a closeup of this detailed die in Very Vanilla. It looks like lace!

I used Multipurpose Glue to adhere the “lace” die cut in Very Vanilla to the left side of the card. The greeting and one of the 3-leaf die cuts were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed in the upper third of the card. I then used Stampin Dimensionals to pop up the two die cut Dahlias and one of the 3-leaf die cut pieces and these were placed on the lower half of the card.

To finish things off, I placed a small pearl in the centers of the two die cut Dahlias and one small pearl in the center of the flower on the die cut sentiment frame. I second-generation stamped the large Dahlia in the lower right corner on the inside of the card after gluing down the Very Vanilla Cardstock. I also second-generation stamped the large Dahlia on the envelope flap and the lower right corner of the envelope front. The card is complete.

Supplies Used:

Blackberry Bliss, Evening Evergreen and Night of Navy ink pads, Dahlia Days Stamp Set, Detailed Dahlias Dies set, Very Vanilla Cardstock, Blackberry Bliss Cardstock, and Pearl Basic Jewels.

I had fun working on this card and it makes me long for warm, sunny days…come on Summer! You can visit my online store here to purchase the supplies to make this card. Happy stamping and have a wonderful day!

Heart and Home Card Tutorial / Possible Shipping Delays

Heart and Home Card Tutorial

“Bees do have a smell, you know, and if they don’t they should, for their feet are dusted with spices from a million flowers.”

Ray Bradbury, Dandelion Wine

When I first browsed the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog I fell in love with the Heart and Home Suite! I had to have it! I obviously love bees (my blog is Inky Bee Stampers), I loved all of the stamp and die flower images, I loved the Heart and Home Designer Series Paper…I love it all!

The idea for this card kept trying to take shape in my mind – I kept seeing panels with beautiful flower images…and a bee! I sat down this morning and debated my DSP options and cardstock colors and it all began to come together. As I was die cutting the flower images I was looking at the piece of white cardstock I had used and got the idea to use this piece of cardstock as a stencil and sponged Smokey Slate ink flower images (the negative image) onto the background of each Fresh Fresia panel. I love the shadow and depth that the stenciled flower images gave to the panels. The die cut flowers were colored using Stampin’ Blend markers and it all just came together to make a very sweet, soft looking card.

I used the sentiment “Stay Wonderful” from the Honeybee Home Stamp Set (part of the Heart and Home Suite) and I love the font in this sentiment…how beautiful. This sentiment would be suitable for a “friend” card, birthday or just because.

All in all, I’m really pleased with how the card turned out and I hope you like it too! If you’d like to make this card you can find detailed instructions along with a supply list by clicking on the image below. A link to my online store is included on the instruction sheet. I can’t wait to play with this suite again soon!

Bee well and Bee happy!

FUN Trio of Treat Boxes!

I CASE’d today’s project from Pootles.co.uk (Pootles Papercraft). Pootles featured a trio of treat boxes on her YouTube channel around the holidays. I thought these boxes would be adorable as treat boxes for Valentine’s Day! They are super quick and easy to make. The boxes graduate in size – small, medium, and large – and all are 2″ in depth. The smallest box measures 2″ x 2″, the medium box measures 3″ x 3″, and the large box measures 4″ x 4″. The smallest box nicely fits several Ghirardelli chocolate squares and the largest box would easily fit a silk scarf or piece of jewelry…or more chocolate! And, all boxes can be made using a standard sheets of cardstock.

I used the Sweet Conversations Stamp Set, Sweet Hearts Dies, and Sweet Talk 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper to make these boxes and decorations along with Blushing Bride Cardstock.

Cutting and scoring measurements can be found here. I hope you’ll give these adorable, easy boxes a try. Think how surprised your loved one will be on Valentine’s Day to receive such a thoughtful gift – handmade with love! Or, make a trio of boxes as a decoration. They’ll be sure to make you smile!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Working with the Calming Camellia Stamp Set and Special Moments

Today I used the beautiful Calming Camellia stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. Let’s get started!

Card Directions:

I started with a Crumb Cake card base cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″. Using Crumb Cake ink I stamped the largest Calming Camellia flower four times around the perimeter of the front of the card base. With a sponge dauber, I inked some Pale Papaya ink in the center of the flowers. I then cut a piece of Very Vanilla card stock to 2-1/2″ x 4″ and stamped the same large flower image in Pale Papaya. This piece of Very Vanilla cardstock was mounted onto a piece of Crumb Cake cut to 4-1/4″ x 2-3/4″.

The sentiment on the front of the card came from the Special Moments stamp set. The sentiment was stamped on a 1″ piece of Crumb Cake card stock then the ends were punched using the Banners Pick A Punch. The Very Vanilla panel and the sentiment were popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A double bow was tied with Linen Thread and the bow was adhered to the Sentiment using a mini glue dot.

A Very Vanilla piece of cardstock was cut for the inside of the card to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and stamped with a sentiment from the Calming Camellia stamp set and the large flower image was stamped in Pale Papaya in the lower right corner. To finish off the card I did a second-generation stamp in Pale Papaya of the large flower in the lower right corner of the front of the envelope and the center of the envelope flap.

The Calming Camellia stamp set has an old-world charm about it and lends itself to tone on tone stamping that is just beautiful! You can earn this exclusive Host Calming Camellia stamp set by hosting a party of $300 or more (in personal sales or party sales) during Sale-A-Bration. The Special Moments sentiments stamp set can be earned for free during Sale-A-Bration with a purchase of $100 or more! You can check out these items in the Sale-A-Bration catalog (linked below) now through February 28.

Let’s Make an Easy Fun Fold Card / Kisses & Hugs Paper Pumpkin Kit and Mini Treat Boxes Add-on are Now Available

Let’s make an easy fun fold card!

Yesterday I introduced the Friendly Hello Stamp Set and Designer Series Paper which you can get for free from the Sale-A-Bration catalog with a purchase of $100 or more. Let’s make a card from this adorable stamp set and paper!

I started by cutting a card base from Granny Apple Green Cardstock. The card base was cut to 11″ x 4-1/4″, scored at 5-1/2″, then I cut 3″ off of the front of the card. Set the 3″ piece aside for now. I used two different pieces of DSP. I cut one piece of DSP to 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″ for the inside of the card. From the same DSP, cut another piece at 4-1/8″ x 2-3/8″. From a different DSP paper, cut one at 4-1/8″ x 2-7/8″.

On the 3″ piece of cardstock that I cut from the card base, I stamped the “Hello Friend” greeting on the DSP with the leaf pattern in Tuxedo Black Momento ink. I stamped the sentiment in the lower right portion of the DSP. Remember I mentioned yesterday that you can stamp on this DSP directly? Works great! on a scrap piece of the light background DSP I stamped the two-flower image and fussy cut this out. After adding a length of white faux linen ribbon to the top third of this panel with the ends wrapped to the back of the DSP, I then mounted this DSP onto the 3″ piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock. The fussy cut flowers were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The secondary pieces of DSP were adhered to the card and I used Matte Black Dots in the centers of the two flowers.

I think this card turned out really cute! I plan on mailing this to a dear friend of mine. Click here to view the full card instructions.
