Heart and Home Card Tutorial

“Bees do have a smell, you know, and if they don’t they should, for their feet are dusted with spices from a million flowers.”

Ray Bradbury, Dandelion Wine

When I first browsed the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog I fell in love with the Heart and Home Suite! I had to have it! I obviously love bees (my blog is Inky Bee Stampers), I loved all of the stamp and die flower images, I loved the Heart and Home Designer Series Paper…I love it all!

The idea for this card kept trying to take shape in my mind – I kept seeing panels with beautiful flower images…and a bee! I sat down this morning and debated my DSP options and cardstock colors and it all began to come together. As I was die cutting the flower images I was looking at the piece of white cardstock I had used and got the idea to use this piece of cardstock as a stencil and sponged Smokey Slate ink flower images (the negative image) onto the background of each Fresh Fresia panel. I love the shadow and depth that the stenciled flower images gave to the panels. The die cut flowers were colored using Stampin’ Blend markers and it all just came together to make a very sweet, soft looking card.

I used the sentiment “Stay Wonderful” from the Honeybee Home Stamp Set (part of the Heart and Home Suite) and I love the font in this sentiment…how beautiful. This sentiment would be suitable for a “friend” card, birthday or just because.

All in all, I’m really pleased with how the card turned out and I hope you like it too! If you’d like to make this card you can find detailed instructions along with a supply list by clicking on the image below. A link to my online store is included on the instruction sheet. I can’t wait to play with this suite again soon!

Bee well and Bee happy!

Possible Shipping Delays

As supply chain shortages, global shipping delays, labor shortages, and transportation and delivery difficulties continue your Stampin’ Up! orders may be delayed. The Stampin’ Up! North American distribution center is running on time. UPS has suspended all shipping guarantees and FedEx has extended their shipping times. This means you may not receive your packages on the days you expect. Even expedited shipments are seeing a one-to-two-day delay. Please plan accordingly if you place an order.

Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions.
