Stampin’ Up! Tone-on-Tone Nature’s Harvest Thinking of You Card

I created today’s tone-on-tone card using Gray Granite cardstock and the pretty Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper along with images from the Nature’s Harvest Bundle, the Honeybee Blooms Dies and the Layering Circles Dies. Oh, and some pretty Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon, too!

On a panel of Gray Granite cardstock measuring 5-1/4″ x 4″ I wrapped a length of Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon around the panel and secured the ends to the back of the panel using Tear & Tape. The ribbon was positioned approximately 2-1/4″ from the top of the panel.

Next, from a panel of the Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper measuring 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″ I carefully cut out a large circle (Layering Circles Dies) and the long, slender sentiment label (Harvest Dies) from the center of the Rose Gold panel. I set aside the circle and sentiment label for now. The ribbon-wrapped Gray Granite panel was adhered to the Rose Gold Metallic panel, then this unit was adhered to a card base in Gray Granite. Even though I used the the Rose Gold panel for some die cutting, the Gray Granite panel nicely covers up the die cut areas and makes good use of this pretty paper!

From the Harvest Dies, I die cut a branch from Gray Granite cardstock and a flower sprig from Early Espresso cardstock. Using the Honeybee Blooms Dies, I die cut a grass from Gold Metallic Specialty Paper. These elements were arranged onto the Rose Gold circle previously cut and adhered using liquid glue. This circle unit was then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and positioned over the strip of shimmer ribbon.

Onto a scrap of Gray Granite cardstock I stamped the “Sending healing thoughts…” sentiment in Early Espresso ink. The sentiment label was die cut using the label die from the Harvest Dies set. The previously cut Rose Gold sentiment label was adhered to the back of the Gray Granite label, leaving a reveal of the Rose Gold label along the bottom. Here’s a closer look…

On the inside panel I stamped the watercolor image from the Nature’s Harvest Stamp Set in Gray Granite ink onto the lower right corner. I then stamped the small flower image from the same stamp set in Early Espresso ink overtop of the watercolor stamped area. The inside panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

The same watercolor and small flower images were stamped onto the envelope front. A small bow from the Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon was added to the stems of the branch, flower sprig and grass on the card front using a Mini Glue Dot to finish off the card.

I love the elegant look of a tone-on-tone card and this pretty Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper adds just the right amount of sparkle to dress up the card!

Stampin’ Up! Like An Animal Paneled Thinking of You Card

The fun animal prints from the Like An Animal 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper were used to create this paneled Thinking of You card. The sentiments are from the Sentimental Park Stamp Set.

I chose three of the gold prints from the Like An Animal Specialty Designer Series Paper pack and cut the pieces down and matted them to Early Espresso cardstock. The panels were then adhered to the front of a Soft Suede card base.

A small amount of Stampin’ Seal was placed on the center of the card front and a length of Satin Edged Ribbon was folded in half and adhered to the card.

Two sentiments were combined from the Sentimental Park Stamp Set and stamped in VersaMark ink onto a sentiment label in Early Espresso. I sprinkled gold embossing powder over the sentiment label and set the embossing powder using my heat tool. The sentiment label was matted to a piece of gold foil paper and then adhered to the center of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The inside panel was decorated with a coordinating strip of the Like An Animal paper in gold and the panel was adhered to the inside of the card.

A coordinating piece of the Like An Animal Specialty Designer Series Paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap to finish off the envelope.

This card worked up very quickly and would be suitable to give to a male or female.

You can download, save and print the pdf tutorial for this card by clicking on the image below.

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Thistle Thinking of You Card

I used the Beautiful Thistle Bundle along with paper from the Dainty Flowers 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper pack to create this pretty thinking of you card.  You can earn the Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper for free with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration and this paper perfectly coordinates with the Dainty Delight Bundle which is availalbe in the Jan-Apr 2023 Mini Catalog!  The Beautiful Thistle Bundle is also available from the Jan-Apr 2023 Mini Catalog.

I adhered a strip of the Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper in an Old Olive floral pattern to a Starry Sky lattice patterned paper from the same designer series paper pack. This unit was then adhered to a white mat, then adhered to the front of an Old Olive card base.

The largest thistle image was stamped onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and I used Stampin’ Blends in Old Olive, Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather to color in the image. The coordinating die from the Beautiful Thistle Dies set was used to cut out the image. The large thistle flower was adhered to the card front at an angle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A sentiment was stamped onto a piece of white cardstock measuring approximately 2-1/2″ x 1-1/4″ in Starry Sky ink and I die cut the label using the smallest rectangle from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set. The sentiment label was adhered to the lower left of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the inside panel I stamped an additional sentiment in Starry Sky ink and stamped the smaller thistle image using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I used Stampin’ Blends in Old Olive and Highland Heather to color in this smaller thistle image. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

The same small thistle image was stamped onto the lower left of the envelope front, and I used Stampin’ Blends to color in the image. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap, and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap.

A small double bow was tied using white twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack and the bow was adhered just under the thistle flower head on the card front using a Mini Glue Dot. A single Dragonfly Trinket was adhered to the card front, just to the right of the thistle flower.

The beautiful Scottish Thistle from the Beautiful Thistle Bundle makes for a lovely card that would be suitable for male or female. Today’s card is a Thinking of You card but this set would also make great birthday cards, friendship cards or sympathy cards.

Stampin’ Up! Scenic Garden Watercolor Thinking of You Card

Happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed a nice weekend! The images from the Scenic Garden Stamp Set just beg to be colored or water colored! I went with the watercolor option for today’s card. The sentiment is from the Sending Support Stamp Set.

I started with a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper measuring 5″ x 3-3/4″. The image was stamped in Smoky Slate ink. Smoky Slate is a nice light gray ink that is easily covered by other colors for a “no line” finish.

I used Smoky Slate, Gray Granite, Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Crumb Cake and Balmy Blue for my watercolor palette. The bench, cobblestones and flowers were painted in before the ground and sky and each area water colored was allowed to fully dry before moving on to the next section.

The watercolor panel was adhered to a mat in Rich Razzleberry then I wrapped Linen Thread horizontally around the panel twice, securing the ends to the back of the panel using Stampin’ Seal. The panel was then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A sentiment was stamped onto a 2-1/2″ x 1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and adhered to a Rich Razzleberry mat, then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment label was adhered over and slightly above the linen thread wrap. A double bow was tied using linen thread and adhered to the left of the sentiment label using a Mini Glue Dot.

On the inside panel and the envelope front, the tall flower image from the Scenic Garden Stamp Set was stamped in Smoky Slate ink, then water colored using Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive inks. The inside panel was adhered to a mat in Rich Razzleberry then adhered to the inside of the card.

It is possible to watercolor on cardstock and even envelopes! It’s just a matter of controlling the amount of water in your brush. Of course, using a really tiny brush helps, too!

Detailed instructions are included on the pdf tutorial. Click on the image below for the tutorial.

The Scenic Garden Stamp Set is a Host set being offered during Sale-a-bration with a qualifying party. If you’d like to host a party during Sale-a-bration to earn this set, reach out to me at inkybeestampers@gmail.com and we’ll make it happen!

Stampin’ Up! On The Farm Diagonal Fun Fold Thinking of You Card

How fun is this diagonal fun fold with a belly band? So cute! I grabbed the fun fold idea from a You Tube channel – Ruth’s Stamping Corner – and wanted to share with all of you. I added the belly band to my version of the card. I used the Day At The Farm 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and On The Farm Stamp Set to create this card. The fun Day At The Farm Designer Series Paper was perfect for this layout!

One sheet of card stock will make two card bases. I started off with a full sheet of 8-1/2″ x 11″ cardstock in Basic Black. On the short side I scored the paper at 4-1/4″ and on the long side I scored the paper at 5-1/2″. I then lined up opposite ends of the cardstock in my paper trimmer and made a diagonal cut.

Two diagonal designer series paper patterns were chosen at cut to 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″. Both of these panels were cut on the diagonal. The barn pattern was adhered to the left side of the card base and the plaid pattern was adhered to the right side of the card base.

On the inside panel, I used the hill stamp from the On The Farm Stamp Set to stamp hills across the bottom of the panel. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

I used a 10″ x 2-1/4″ piece of black cardstock as a belly band. The ends of the band were wrapped around the card and adhered together using liquid glue. I then stamped a sentiment onto a 3″ x 3″ piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock using Garden Green ink. I used the second largest scalloped die from the Layering Circles Dies set to die cut a circle. I then used the same hill stamp to stamp across the bottom of the die cut circle. The circle was adhered to the center of the belly band using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A double bow tied from black twine was adhered to the circle using a Mini Glue Dot and I added a Black Matte Dot to the circle as well.

The same hill was stamped onto the envelope front using Garden Green ink and a piece of coordinating plaid DSP was added to the envelope flap and I trimmed around the flap to finish off the envelope.

The adorable images from the On The Farm Stamp Set and Day at the Farm Designer Series Paper are perfect on this diagonal fun fold. This card was very easy to put together. I hope you’ll give it a try!

Stampin’ Up! On the Farm Thinking of You Card – Sneak Peek!

Here is another sneak peek for you! I used the On the Farm Bundle and the Day at the Farm 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper to create this fun Thinking of You card!

The On the Farm Bundle (stamps and dies) are available for customer orders beginning January 5 from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. And if you order this bundle, you will qualify to earn the Day at the Farm 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper from the January-February 2023 Sale-a-bration Catalog for free! That’s a great deal!

I used the farm scene piece of paper from the Day at the Farm DSP pack for my card background and added this to a mat in Garden Green which was then adhered to a Balmy Blue card base. I stamped and die cut a number of images and used Stampin’ Blends to color in the images. The images were arranged onto the card front and adhered either with Stampin’ Dimensionals or glue. I used the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut out the sentiment for the card front.

Clouds and hills were stamped onto the inside panel along with an additional sentiment and I adhered the panel to the inside of the card.

The tree image was stamped onto the envelope front and colored in with Stampin’ Blends. A piece of coordinating DSP was adhered to the envelope flap and I trimmed around the flap to finish off the envelope.

I only used a portion of the images available in this adorable bundle so there are lots of options and the paper patterns in the Day at the Farm pack also offer lots of options for your cardmaking or scrapbooking needs. It goes without saying that this set would be perfect for children’s cards!

Stampin’ Up! Desert Details Thinking of You Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop – Sneak Peek!

It’s Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop and lots of great inspiration!

I used the Desert Details Stamp Set, Desert Details Dies, and the beautiful Delicate Desert 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper to create my card for today’s hop. These items will be available in the upcoming January-April 2023 Mini Catalog.

We have a sketch challenge for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today.

I started off with a card base in Gray Granite and added a mat in Calypso Coral cardstock measuring 5-1/2″ x 3-1/2″. A DSP panel cut from the Delicate Desert Designer Series Paper measuring 5-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ was added on top of the Calypso Coral mat, leaving a 1/8″ reveal across the top and bottom of the panel. This unit was then adhered to the card front.

A sentiment from the Desert Details Stamp Set was stamped onto a white sentiment label measuring 4-1/2″ x 3/4″ in Calypso Coral ink. The small and large flower image were stamped onto white cardstock – also in Calypso Coral ink – and cut using the coordinating dies from the Desert Details Dies set.

The decorative strip die was cut from Calypso Coral cardstock and adhered across the card front approximately 1″ from the bottom of the card base. The sentiment label was added using Stampin’ Dimensionals and was placed over the decorative strip. The die cut flowers were also adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and the bottoms of the flowers were slightly overlapped and tucked under the sentiment label.

I used Gold Faceted Adhesive-Backed Sequins (also coming in the new January-April 2023 Mini Catalog) and adhered two of the crescent moon shaped sequins to the flower centers and several of the small round sequins to the card front. A small round sequin was also added to the sentiment label.

On the inside panel a strip of coordinating designer series paper was added across the bottom of the panel, and I stamped an additional sentiment from the Desert Details Stamp Set onto the panel. The panel was added to a mat in Calypso Coral then adhered to the inside of the card.

The large flower from the Desert Details Stamp Set was stamped onto the lower left corner of the envelope front in Calypso Coral ink. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was added to the envelope flap and I trimmed around the flap to finish off the envelope.

The Desert Details Bundle and Delicate Desert 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper would be beautiful additions to your crafting stash.

Stampin’ Up! Soft Seedlings Thinking of You Card

Most of the cards that I’ll be blogging about this week use simple stamping techniques which allow you to complete cards quickly! This is not my usual style…but I love the simplicity of simple stamping. Can you believe that none of my cards this week include die cutting? I know…hard to believe!

Today’s card is a CAS. One of my team members, Susan L. with Stampin2Die4.com, recently shared her version of this card in a Facebook group and I thought the card was so lovely I had to share it with you! Thank you for the inspiration, Susan!

The card was created using the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set and three ink colors – So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, and Cherry Cobbler. This card comes together quickly, and the vibrant colors make a huge statement!

I began by stamping the maple leaf image from the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set in So Saffron, stamping the image around the upper 2/3 of the card edges. Next, the same image was stamped around the perimeter using Pumpkin Pie ink and I focused on allowing some of the So Saffron stamped leaves to show. The same leaf image was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink, allowing some of the Pumpkin Pie leaves to show through.

A sentiment was stamped onto the front panel and the panel was matted to a piece of So Saffron cardstock. Linen thread was wrapped around the upper portion of this panel twice and the unit was adhered to the card front. A triple bow in linen thread was added to the card along with several amber gems from the Leaf Label and Amber Gem Combo Pack.

The same stamping technique was used to complete the inside panel and an additional greeting was added as well. The inside panel was also matted to a piece of So Saffron cardstock and adhered to the inside of the card.

The envelope received the same stamping technique on the front and envelope flap to finish off the card.

Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree Holiday Card

The Perched In A Tree Stamp Set and the Aspen Tree Dies were used to create today’s card along with a watercolor panel as the backdrop. I love this pretty little bird and the die cut aspen leaves are amazing cut from Distressed Gold 12″ x 12″ Specialty Paper!

I started by creating the watercolor panel using Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. A wet-in-wet watercolor technique was used to create the background in Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody and Balmy Blue inks. Because this is a background panel, I simply dropped in the inks on the wet watercolor surface.

The large oval tree die was die cut and I lightly blended some Smoky Slate along the edges of the tree trunks to add some interest to the trunks. This die cut panel was then adhered to the watercolor background.

Several leaves were cut using the dies from the Aspen Tree Dies set in Distressed Gold 12″ x 12″ Specialty Paper and the bird was stamped onto Basic White cardstock in Smoky Slate ink then colored in using Stampin’ Blends in Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate and Petal Pink. A Stampin’ Write black marker was used to color in the bird’s eye and beak. I also stamped and die cut a tree trunk. The pieces were arranged and adhered to the card front along with a sentiment label.

An additional sentiment was added to the inside panel then this panel was adhered to a mat in Old Olive and this unit was adhered to the inside of the card. The envelope was decorated using the “watercolor” and “dotted” stamps from the Perched In A Tree Stamp Set. The card was finished off with a few blue Glossy Dots.

I had so much fun playing with this stamp and die set and I think it makes for a very pretty card. Although I’m calling this a “holiday” card, it could easily serve as a friendship or thinking of you card also. You can find the Perched In A Tree Bundle on Page 46 of the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. This is definitely a bundle that you’ll want to add to your stash!

Stampin’ Up! Sending Smiles Thinking of You Card

The Sending Smiles Stamp Set and Sending Dies combined with the texture that the Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder provides makes for a cheerful and uplifting card!

I started with a Thick Basic White cardstock card base. A Basic White panel was embossed using the Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder and this panel was adhered to a Real Red mat, then this unit was adhered to the card front.

Using scraps of white cardstock I stamped multiple flowers in Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red inks and multiple flower stems were stamped in Mossy Meadow and Old Olive.

The large “Sending” sentiment was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink and die cut using the coordinating die from the Sending Dies set. The sentiment label was adhered to the top left of the embossed panel. The flowers were adhered to their stems, and I played around with the arrangement of the flowers on the card front. Once I was satisfied with the arrangement, I adhered the flowers to the embossed panel. One of the Daisey flowers was popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The additional sentiment “Sunshine to brighten your day” was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink and die cut using the coordinating die from the Sending Dies set. The sentiment label was adhered over the flower stems at the bottom right of the embossed panel.

The smaller flowers and their stems were stamped on the inside panel as well as the envelope front. I used the multi-flower stamp to stamp these smaller flowers across the envelope flap to finish off the card.

I love the cheerfulness and upbeat feel of the images in the Sending Smiles Set!
