Stampin’ Up! Lucky Clover St. Patrick’s Day Card

I’m part Irish and so I had to make a St. Patrick’s Day card! I have good news and bad news, though. The bad news first…the Lucky Clover Punch is sold out! The good news is that the Lucky Clover Stamp Set is still available, and the stamped clover leaf is super easy to fussy cut so you can still make those St. Patrick’s Day cards for your Irish friends and family members!

I started off with a card base in Garden Green cardstock and used the medium clover stamp to stamp all over the front of the card base using Garden Green ink. I made sure to turn the stamp so the clover would not be falling in the same direction, and I did my best to evenly space out the stamped images.

I used a print in Garden Green from the Dandy Designs 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper pack that measures 5-1/2″ x 2-3/8″ and matted this strip of DSP to a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock measuring 5-1/2″ x 2-1/2″. This strip was then adhered to the card front with the left edge of the strip sitting approximately a 1/2″ from the left edge of the card base.

The large clover image was stamped in Garden Green ink onto a scrap piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock and I fussy cut around the image…easy, peasy!

I used the Something Fancy Dies (my new favorite sentiment label dies!) to cut out two small tags – one in Basic White and one in Granny Apple Green. The sentiment “Sending Luck & Love” was stamped onto the Granny Apple Green tag. The two tags were adhered together using liquid glue so that the tag holes were lined up, but the white tag is showing from underneath the green tag. A length of Garden Green twine from the Three Twine Combo Pack was used to tie a bow through the tag holes. The tag was then adhered to the top of the card front at an angle using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The fussy cut clover was adhered to the card front below the sentiment label using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment “Happy St. Patrick’s Day” in Garden Green ink and stamped two of the medium size clovers in Granny Apple Green ink – one on each side of the stamped sentiment. A narrow strip of coordinating designer series paper was adhered across the bottom of the inside panel and the panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

The same medium sized clover was stamped onto the lower left front of the envelope using Granny Apple Green ink and a piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap to finish up the envelope.

I love how this card turned out and I enjoyed creating it! It’s sad that the punch is no longer available but don’t let that stop you from creating your own fun St. Patrick’s Day cards!

Stampin’ Up! Scenic Garden Watercolor Thinking of You Card

Happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed a nice weekend! The images from the Scenic Garden Stamp Set just beg to be colored or water colored! I went with the watercolor option for today’s card. The sentiment is from the Sending Support Stamp Set.

I started with a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper measuring 5″ x 3-3/4″. The image was stamped in Smoky Slate ink. Smoky Slate is a nice light gray ink that is easily covered by other colors for a “no line” finish.

I used Smoky Slate, Gray Granite, Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Crumb Cake and Balmy Blue for my watercolor palette. The bench, cobblestones and flowers were painted in before the ground and sky and each area water colored was allowed to fully dry before moving on to the next section.

The watercolor panel was adhered to a mat in Rich Razzleberry then I wrapped Linen Thread horizontally around the panel twice, securing the ends to the back of the panel using Stampin’ Seal. The panel was then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A sentiment was stamped onto a 2-1/2″ x 1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and adhered to a Rich Razzleberry mat, then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment label was adhered over and slightly above the linen thread wrap. A double bow was tied using linen thread and adhered to the left of the sentiment label using a Mini Glue Dot.

On the inside panel and the envelope front, the tall flower image from the Scenic Garden Stamp Set was stamped in Smoky Slate ink, then water colored using Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive inks. The inside panel was adhered to a mat in Rich Razzleberry then adhered to the inside of the card.

It is possible to watercolor on cardstock and even envelopes! It’s just a matter of controlling the amount of water in your brush. Of course, using a really tiny brush helps, too!

Detailed instructions are included on the pdf tutorial. Click on the image below for the tutorial.

Stampin’ Up! Silly Goose Birthday Card

Happy Friday! The Silly Goose Stamp Set makes for some adorable and fun cards and covers everything from birthdays, thank you cards, friendship cards, thinking of you cards and cards of encouragement!  This stamp set is one of six stamp sets that can be ordered in either Cling or Photopolymer from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog! When ordering, be sure to double check that you’re ordering the type of stamps that you want!

I started off by stamping the goose holding the balloon onto a piece of white cardstock. The image was colored in using Stampin’ Blends and then die cut using the Deckled Rectangle Dies. A larger Deckled Rectangle Die was used to cut out a piece of the Sweet Sorbet Country Gingham Designer Series Paper. The designer series paper was adhered to a mat in Sweet Sorbet, then this unit was adhered to the So Saffron card front.

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals the goose panel was adhered over top of the designer series paper at an angle. The sentiment label was also adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed underneath the gingham panel. A double bow was tied using the 2022-2024 In Color Baker’s Twine in Sweet Sorbet and the bow was adhered to the upper left corner of the white angled panel. I also adhered several Opaque Adhesive-backed Gems to the card front.

On the inside panel I stamped an additional sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and the image of the two geese fist bumping onto the lower portion of the panel. The geese were colored in using the same Stampin’ Blend colors as the panel on the front of the card. The inside panel was adhered to a mat in Sweet Sorbet and this unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

The image of the goose holding the balloon was stamped onto the lower right corner of the envelope front and colored in with Stampin’ Blends. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap to finish off the envelope.

Stampin’ Up! Two-Tone Flora Valentine’s Day Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s Thursday and you know what that means…it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! Are you ready to hop around and see some great projects?

I created my card for today using the Two-Tone Flora Bundle, and the Fancy Flora 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper.

We have a theme challenge for today’s Hop. The theme is “Love”! What says “Love” more than a Valentine’s Day card!

If you’re hopping over from Terry Lynn’s blog…thanks for stopping by!

I started off with a card base in Night of Navy. This is a top fold card. I used the large, intricate die from the Two-Tone Flora Dies set to cut a piece of the Fancy Flora 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper in an all-over Balmy Blue, Orchid Oasis, and Pool Party pattern. This panel was cut to 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8 and the die was centered over the panel. I love the variegated look once this panel was die cut! The panel was then adhered to the front of the card base.

Using the leaf image from the Two-Tone Flora Stamp Set, I stamped the image twice onto a scrap piece of Orchid Oasis cardstock then used the coordinating dies from the Two-Tone Flora Dies set to cut the images out. On a scrap piece of white cardstock, I used the two-step stamps for the largest flower image and stamped the detailed image in Orchid Oasis ink and the filler image using Pool Party ink. I then used the coordinating die from the Two-Tone Flora Stamp Set to cut out this image.

Using additional pieces of white cardstock, I used the Layering Circles Dies to cut out two circles – one using the 2nd to smallest circle die and one using the 2nd to largest circle die. The sentiment “With Love” was stamped onto the smallest circle. The die cut flower and leaf sprigs were arranged on the larger circle. Both circle units were arranged onto the card front. The flower image was placed on the lower left of the card and the sentiment to the upper right.

Using the Country Bouquet Stamp Set, I stamped the sentiment “Happy Valentine’s Day” onto the inside panel using Orchid Oasis ink. The two-step large flower was stamped onto the lower left corner of this panel – again, using Orchid Oasis and Pool Party inks. I then stamped just the background image for the flower onto a Post It Note, then fussy cut around the background image to create a mask. I then placed the mask onto the stamped flower on the panel and stamped the leaf image in Orchid Oasis ink on each side of the flower. The mask was removed, and I adhered the panel to the inside of the card.

Two short lengths of Pool Party Grosgrain Ribbon were tied together to form a knot. I then trimmed the ribbon ends laying on top shorter than those below and all ribbon ends were trimmed at an angle. The ribbon was adhered to the card front using a Mini Glue Dot and placed just below the flower. An Orchid Oasis Stampin’ Blend was used to color several Rhinestone Basic Jewels and the rhinestones were placed around the card front.

I hope you enjoyed my card for today! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print a pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.

Stampin’ Up! Playing In the Rain Treat Pouch

I used the Playing In The Rain Bundle and the Rain or Shine 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper to create this cute and fun treat pouch.  This is a great gift idea for Valentine’s Day (use Valentine themed paper and images) or create this project for an Easter treat!  The bunny from the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper, featured on this project, is perfect for Easter!

The pouch is large enough to hold a handful of Hershey Kisses, jellybeans or your choice of sweets!  The finished size of the pouch is 2″ x 2″ x 4″ and has a ribbon closure.  This project works up quickly and your biggest challenge will be deciding on the paper you will use and how you’ll decorate it!

All of the measurements and detailed instructions are included on the downloadable pdf tutorial (linked below), but here are the basics.

I started with a piece of the Rain or Shine 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper and cut it down to 6″ x 10-1/2″. If the paper you’ll be using is directional then you will want to have the scene or pattern run along the long side of the paper. Likewise, you’ll need to be careful where you score so be sure to read the instructions before proceeding.

The necessary score lines were made using my paper trimmer and I cut along the vertical score lines to create the box bottom tabs and the tab was created but cutting out the small rectangle created by the intersecting score lines. Tear & Tape was applied to the tab of the pouch and I joined the ends together to form a tube.

Holding the pouch upright, I located the joining seam, then folded the bottom side flaps closed and secured these together with liquid glue. I then closed the front and back bottom flaps and also secured these together with glue.

Holding the pouch with both hands along the top of the pouch, I gently pushed in each side of the pouch and pinched the sides closed while making sure that the top edges of the pouch were in line with each other. I then located the center of the pouch about 1/4″ from the top and used a hole punch to punch through the layers. Balmy Blue & White Variegated Ribbon and white twine were threaded through the punched holes and I tied each of these into a bow to close the pouch. Don’t forget to fill your pouch with treats first, though!

Using the Playing In The Rain Dies, I cut out one of the bunny images from the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper. The bunny was adhered to the front of the pouch using Stampin’ Dimensionals. From the Playing In The Rain Stamp Set, I stamped the “Oh, Happy Day” sentiment onto a piece of scrap white cardstock in Mango Melody ink and used the 2nd to smallest circle die from the Layering Circles Dies set to cut out the sentiment label. The sentiment label was also adhered to the pouch front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

How sweet is this adorable little treat pouch? You can change up the paper and decorations to suit any occasion. And, you can create a card using the same suite of products to coordinate with your gift!

Stampin’ Up! Key to my Heart January Paper Pumpkin Cards

I’m continuing with the Valentine theme today with nine cards completed from the January 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Key To My Heart!

As you can see, Paper Pumpkin kits come with everything that you need to complete the project – card bases, envelopes, ink, stamps, adhesives embellishments and card components! Paper Pumpkin kits are a great option for avid crafters, people with busy schedules, parents (create with the kids!), and new crafters! This particular kit created a total of nine cards – 3 of each of 3 different designs.

The Key To My Heart Kit also included some vellum and gold components! It took me about an hour to complete all 9 cards.

You can choose to complete the kit as directed (every kit comes with assembly instructions) or put your own spin on things and mix things up a bit and assemble the cards as you’d like!

And here are all nine completed cards!

A Paper Pumpkin subscription is such a great option. You can subscribe to Paper Pumpkin on a month-to-month basis, or purchase a 3-month, 6-month or 12-month subscription. You can expect your kit to arrive around the 20th of eacc month. Kits provide great variety – sometimes cards and sometimes treat boxes or some other goodies!

I love receiving my Paper Pumpkin subscription in the mail…it’s like opening a little surprise each month! Read on to learn about the February Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Stampin’ Up! Country Floral Lane – 10 Quick Valentine’s Day Card Ideas!

Happy Monday! I created a stack of 10 Valentine’s Day cards using the Country Floral Lane Suite of products along with the Something Fancy Dies and a few other products.

Once I chose the paper I wanted to use from the Country Gingham 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and the Country Floral Lane 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper packs, I then cut all of my card bases, designer series paper mats, sentiment labels, inside panels and coordinating paper for the envelopes at one time – creating a sort of assembly line.

To keep things simple, I used only four colors – white, Balmy Blue, Sweet Sorbet and Mint Macaron and only two ink colors – Balmy Blue and Sweet Sorbet. This made the card assembly easy and quick!

I used several different coordinating ribbons including Real Red & Burlap Ribbon and Balmy Blue & White Variegated Ribbon. I stuck with two different embellishments – Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequins and Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Stampin’ Blends in Balmy Blue and Sweet Sorbet were used to color the rhinestones as needed.

You can view all of the cards in the gallery below. Click on any photo below to see a larger image or to scroll through the images. Please give the photos a moment to load…

I have to say that I had a lot of fun creating these easy cards! I participate in a card project where volunteers create cards for residents of a local care facility. The residents of this facility are seniors who have no family to care for them.  Providing cards each month lets them know someone cares.  This initiative is in its 3rd or 4th year and the residents greatly look forward to receiving cards!

You can download, save and print the pdf tutorial for these cards by clicking on the image below.

Stampin’ Up! Around The Bend Fancy Flora Thank You Card

I create cards just about every day of the week and I have to say that this card might be one of my top favorites! I used the Around The Bend Bundle (stamps and dies), the Something Fancy Dies, and the Fancy Flora 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper to create today’s card.

I first chose a piece of paper from the Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper pack…it was a tough choice because all of the papers in this pack are just breathtaking! Each piece of paper is like a 6″ x 6″ piece of art! Actually, they are pieces of art that have been captured onto paper! I chose a pattern with the colors Evening Evergreen, Daffodil Delight, and Soft Sea Foam.

From Evening Evergreen cardstock, I used the curved decorative leaf die from the Around The Bend Dies set to cut out the vertical piece for my card. This was adhered to the left side of the DSP panel, and I then adhered this unit to the card front. While die cutting this curved piece I was able to also fit one of the small leaf sprig dies into the same piece of cardstock and cut this at the same time.

The “hello there” sentiment was stamped in Evening Evergreen ink onto a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock, and I used the smallest rectangular shaped die from the Something Fancy Dies set to cut out the sentiment.

Using liquid glue, I adhered the leaf sprig on the lower right corner of the card front after checking placement of the sentiment label over top of the sprig. I used a short length of gold Simply Elegant Trim and folded the trim in half and adhered the trim ends over the stem of the leaf sprig using Stampin’ Seal. The sentiment label was then adhered to the lower right corner of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Several gold Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequins were added to the card front. The gold of the trim and the sequins help to compliment the Daffodil Delight tones in the DSP.

On the inside panel, I stamped an additional sentiment from the Around The Bend Stamp Set using Evening Evergreen ink. I used one of the small leaf stamps from the set and stamped the leaf over top of the sentiment using Soft Sea Foam ink. The decorative corner stamp was used to stamp this design onto the lower right corner of the panel and then the panel was adhered to the inside of the card.

The same decorative corner design was also stamped onto the envelope front using Soft Sea Foam ink. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap, and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap to finish off the envelope.

I will be playing with the Around The Bend Bundle some more…I can picture a lot of different designs using this bundle. And I hope the Something Fancy Dies stick around for a good while because this set contains some great sentiment labels and tags!

Stampin’ Up! Sweet Citrus Birthday Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s Thursday and you know what that means…it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! Are you ready to hop around and see some great projects?

I created my card for today using the Sweet Citrus Stamp Set, Sweet Citrus Dies and the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder along with paper from the Dandy Designs 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper.

We have a sketch challenge for today’s Hop!

I have another orange-ish card for you today. Orange is my favorite color! I created a card base measuring 11″ x 4-1/4″ and scored at 5-1/2″ from Pumpkin Pie cardstock. I added a piece of the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper in a Mango Melody square pattern and adhered this panel to my card front at an angle, following our sketch.

On a white panel I used the large fruit stamp from the Sweet Citrus Stamp Set to create an all over design or oranges using Mango Melody ink. The outline stamp was first generation stamped in Mango Melody and the fill stamp was stamped in second generation Mango Melody ink. I should also mention that I did a little surgery on the large outline stamp by cutting the whole lemon away from the stamp. I left the connectors attached to this cut off section so that I’ll be able to use the entire stamp again and it will line up perfectly on my stamp block for future use.

Once the stamping was complete on the white panel, I used Pumpkin Pie twine from the Three Twine Combo Pack and wrapped the twine around the white, stamped panel twice. The ends of the twine were secured on the back of the panel using a small amount of Stampin’ Seal. I then adhered this panel to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and the panel was centered from top to bottom and left to right.

On a scrap piece of white cardstock, I again used the large fruit stamps and stamped the outline in Pumpkin Pie ink and the fill in Mango Melody ink. I wanted these oranges to appear darker than those stamped onto the white panel. Using the largest die from the Sweet Citrus Dies set, I placed this die into the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder. This die will fit snugly around the fruit images in the center of the embossing folder as shown below.

Next, I lined up the stamped orange panel in the embossing folder and die cut using my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. What’s really cool about this hybrid embossing folder is that it will allow you to die cut and emboss images at the same time!

On a scrap piece of Garden Green cardstock, I stamped two sets of leaves using Garden Green ink. I used the coordinating dies from the Sweet Citrus Dies set to cut these out.

Two of the die cut and embossed orange slices and the leaves were dry fit onto the card front, just above the wrapped twine. I partially adhered the two orange pieces together using liquid glue, then adhered the oranges to the all-over stamped panel and centered them on the panel.

A sentiment was stamped onto a Basic White sentiment label measuring 2-3/4″ x 1-1/4″ using Mango Melody ink. Stampin’ Dimensionals were placed directly onto the all-over stamped panel and I placed a double stack of Stampin’ Dimensionals on just the right side of the sentiment label and adhered the label to the card front. The label was centered over the wrapped twine and to the right of the card front. The die cut leaves were adhered to the card front and tucked under the orange slices.

The inside designer series paper mat and white panel were cut to the same dimensions as the outside mat and panel. I stamped an additional sentiment onto the inside panel and stamped a single orange slice and leaves onto the lower left corner of this panel. The orange slice outline was stamped in Mango Melody ink and the fill for the orange slice was second generation stamped in Mango Melody. The leaves were stamped in Garden Green ink. The DSP mat was adhered at an angle, mimicking the front of the card and the inside panel was adhered to the inside of the card, and centered from top to bottom and left to right.

The same orange slice was stamped onto the lower left of the envelope front using Mango Melody ink and the leaves were stamped in Garden Green ink. I added a piece of coordinating designer series paper to the envelope flap and trimmed the excess paper away from the flap to finish off the envelope.

To finish up the card I added three Brushed Brass Butterflies to the card front. I imagine that butterflies would love orange blossoms!

I love the tone on tone look of this card and I love that you can change up the fruit using the Sweet Citrus Bundle by changing your ink colors – you can go with lemons, oranges, limes and even pink grapefruit! So much fun! The Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper also goes great with these stamped images. You can grab the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper for free from the Sale-a-Bration brochure with a qualifying order through February 28!

Stampin’ Up! Marigold Moments Good Luck Card

The Marigold Moments Stamp Set, Marigold Moments Dies and the Dandy Designs 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper were used to create this fun and cheerful Good Luck card! The Marigold Moments Stamp Set contains two-step stamps to give a realistic look to the flowers! The Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper is a Sale-a-bration item that you can earn for FREE with a qualifying order!

I started off by die cutting the decorative edge on a striped panel of designer series paper using the decorative border die from the Marigold Moments Dies set. This panel was then adhered to the card front and I made sure that I had an equal reveal on the top, left and right of the card.

Using the Layering Circles Dies I used the largest scalloped circle die and the smallest scalloped circle die to die cut circles from Basic White cardstock. The “Good Luck” sentiment from the Marigold Moments Stamp Set was stamped onto the small circle using Garden Green ink. This sentiment label was then adhered to the card front on the lower left using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock, I used the two-step stamps to stamp the cluster of Marigolds. I first used Pumpkin Pie ink to stamp the detailed image of the flowers, then used Pale Papaya ink to stamp the solid image. I used the dark shade of a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend to darken the shadows under the flower petals of the marigolds but this step is completely optional. I think it adds a little something extra!

Using small scraps of Garden Green and Granny Apple Green cardstock I die cut several leaves using the three-leaf die from the Marigold Moments Dies set. I also used the coordinating die to die cut the marigold cluster I had previously stamped. The flowers and leaves were arranged onto the large scalloped circle and when I was happy with the placement, I adhered the flowers to the circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used liquid glue to adhere the leaves to the circle and tucked the stems under the flowers. The circle was then adhered to the card front and positioned towards the upward right of the card front.

On the inside panel I used the same two-step marigold stamps to second generation stamp the flowers onto the panel. The panel was then adhered to a mat in Granny Apple Green and adhered to the inside of the card.

I second generation stamped the same marigolds onto the envelope front and I added a piece of coordinating designer series paper to the envelope flap and trimmed the excess paper away from the flap. Using the Garden Green twine from the Three Twine Combo Pack I tied a small double bow and adhered this to the card front just above the sentiment label.

I love the cheerfulness of this card! What do you think? If you’d like to recreate this card, click on the image below for a pdf tutorial.

Shy Birds?

I just had to share this with you. You might be wondering what you’re looking at in the photo above. More explanation is required….

I’m fortunate to have a large window in front of my crafting desk and I enjoy watching the birds and squirrels frolic around our front yard every day! Sometimes we even see the foxes travelling through the yards and occasionally we will see a hawk land close by.

So, I asked for a bird feeder for Christmas – one that would suction cup to the window. There are a pair of sheers in the window and I’m able to pull these sheers back to allow for direct viewing outside.

My husband did gift a really nice window bird feeder to me for Christmas! I was so excited to visit our local seed store and purchase some quality feed that would attract songbirds to the feeder. I filled the feeder and waited. I realized that it might take a few weeks for the birds to locate this new feeder but in about a week, we had our first visitors to the feeder – a male and female House Finch!

I pulled the curtains back and waited for the pair to arrive. There was only one problem, though. They can see me through the window and would not feed! If I drew the sheers closed…no problem, they would happily munch away. I thought perhaps they would get used to me if I left the curtains open. Nope! If the curtains are pulled back, they land on the feeder then promptly fly away. Apparently, House Finches are shy! Who knew?

I know that other species of birds become accustomed to being in close proximity to humans and for now I have to wait for those other songbirds to find the feeder. For the time being I must watch my feathered visitors from behind the curtains!
