Stampin’ Up! Thanksgiving Card Using the Aspen Tree Dies

I used a variety of products to create this warm and festive Thanksgiving card. Die cut leaves from the Aspen Tree Dies adorn the card front as well as paper from the Metallic & Shimmer 6″ x 6″ Specialty Paper pack. A mask from the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks was used to create the card front background. A sentiment from the Painted Pheasant Stamp Set was used for the sentiment.

As mentioned, the background was created using a mask from the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks and I blended Pumpkin Pie ink over a Pumpkin Pie card base using the square grid mask. I’ve never used these masks before and it was a lot of fun seeing the pattern created once I lifted the mask!

A strip of the Metallic & Shimmer Special Paper was added down the center of the card front and matted with a piece of Early Espresso cardstock. I added three leaves to the card front which were cut from the Aspen Tree Dies – two using the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper and one from the Metallic & Shimmer Specialty Paper. A length of Baker’s twine was colored using a Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blend and I tied a bow and added it to the center leaf on the card front.

I used the “Happy Thanksgiving” stamp from the Painted Pheasant Stamp Set for the sentiment and matted the label twice using Early Espresso cardstock and a piece of the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper.

The inside of the card features a strip of coordinating Metallic & Shimmer Specialty Paper and a smaller leaf which was die cut from the Aspen Tree Dies. The envelope flap was decorated with a piece of the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper in So Saffron.

I really enjoyed using the masking technique on this card and using the Metallic & Shimmer Specialty Paper. The colors on this card are warm and inviting and definitely say “Fall” and “Thanksgiving”!

Stampin’ Up! Cottage Wreaths Book Fold Thanksgiving Card for World Card Making Day

I hope you enjoyed the Inkin’ Krew and the Stampin’ Up! World Card Making Day events on Saturday and that you are feeling inspired! Weren’t the presentations fantastic! I know I’m excited to start crafting!

If you were unable to join the Inkin’ Krew World Card Making Day event, or you didn’t catch all of the presentations, you can go back to the Inkin’ Krew Group page on Facebook and watch or re-watch the presentations. Click here to go to the Group page now.

I’ve entered this card in the Tic Tac Toe Challenge 181 and chose the top row across – Leaves, Ribbon, Autumn Colors. Here is this week’s challenge board:

I made this book fold Thanksgiving card using the beautiful Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set, the Country Wreaths Dies, and the Gingham Cottage 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. I used Fall colors for my card and check out all the dimension on the wreath, which is of course the focal point of the card!

I started off with a card base in Pumpkin Pie cardstock. I cut several panels from the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper to fit the front of the card, then matted these panels to Real Red cardstock then adhered them to the card front.

Using scraps of cardstock in fall colors, I stamped the three-leaf image from the Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set multiple times, matching the ink color to the scraps of cardstock. I die cut multiple leaves and some greenery sprigs using coordinating dies from the Country Wreaths Dies set. I also die cut a wreath in Evening Evergreen which was used as my base for the leaves.

I began adhering the leaves to the die cut wreath until the wreath was full. The wreath was then adhered to a white die cut square which was matted to a Brushed Metallic Cardstock in copper (more rich Fall color!). This unit was then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A bow in Faux Suede Trim was added to the top of the wreath and I added several Brushed Metallic Dots in copper around the wreath. An additional piece of Faux Suede Trim was wrapped around the book binding portion of the card and tied in a knot.

An additional sentiment was stamped on the inside panel which came from the Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set. I also used the greenery stamp from the Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set and stamped this in the lower right and upper right corners of the panel. The panel was then adhered to a mat in Real Red cardstock then this unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

The envelope got some love, too! The envelope front was also decorated with stamped greenery and I added a piece of coordinating Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper to the envelope flap and fussy cut around the flap to finish off the envelope.

Stampin’ Up! Rustic Harvest Thanksgiving Card

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has enjoyed a great and productive week!

Tomorrow is our day…Woo hoo! Saturday, October 1 is World Card Making Day. You’ll want to check out the information below, so you don’t miss out on any of the fun! It’s going to be GREAT! Imagine an entire day of crafting!

Today’s Thanksgiving card is all about the beautiful Rustic Harvest 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper! It’s gorgeous!

I started off with a card base in Basic Black cardstock. I adhered a piece of the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper in the pumpkin print to a Crushed Curry cardstock mat then adhered this unit to the card front. I cut a piece of the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper from the Crushed Curry print to 4-3/4″ x 2″, then cut a “V” on one end to form a banner. This DSP banner was then adhered to the top of the card front, lining up with the pumpkin print paper.

Using the Painted Pheasant Stamp Set, I stamped the sentiment “Happy Thanksgiving” to a Basic White sentiment label in Crushed Curry, then adhered the sentiment label to a Basic Black mat. The sentiment label was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and centered on the card front.

I used the grass stamp from the Painted Pheasant Stamp Set to stamp the grass several times onto a white inside panel. This panel was matted to a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock then adhered to the inside of the card. I chose not to stamp a sentiment on the inside of the card. A sentiment can always be added later.

The same grass image from the Painted Pheasant Stamp Set was stamped onto the lower corner of the envelope front and I added a piece of the pumpkin print Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper to the envelope flap – fussy cutting around the flap to finish off the envelope.

To finish off the card front I tied a double bow using Linen Thread and adhered the bow to the top center of the sentiment label using a Mini Glue Dot. Two amber gems from the Leaf Label & Amber Gem Combo Pack were added to either side of the sentiment label.

This card came together so quickly, and the beautiful designer series paper makes for a lovely and simple Thanksgiving card that anyone would love to receive! Change up the sentiment on the front of the card and this would also make a perfect Fall birthday card, get well card or thinking of your card for either male or female!

Stampin’ Up! Hello Harvest Flip Flap Friendship Card

Today’s card uses the Hello Harvest Stamp Set, Rustic Pumpkin Dies, Gingham Cottage 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and the Rustic Harvest 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. Flip Flap cards consist of two card bases combined to make one card with multiple flaps.

I started by cutting the two card bases using Early Espresso cardstock. Essentially, the card consists of a standard size card base and a smaller card base. You can find detailed instructions, including measurements, in the linked pdf project sheet below.

I used a Mossy Meadow print from the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper pack and the Pumpkin Pie print from the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper pack to decorate the panels on both the insides and outsides of the card bases. I die cut the two embossed pumpkins from the Rustic Pumpkin Dies set in Very Vanilla cardstock along with two pumpkin stems and two pumpkin vines using Mossy Meadow cardstock. A blending brush was used to lightly blend Early Espresso ink over the die cut pumpkins, focusing on the embossed areas. I then adhered the pumpkin stems and pumpkin vines to the two pumpkins.

On the larger Gingham Cottage DSP panel, a sentiment was stamped directly onto the lower right corner of the panel in Early Espresso ink. I then second-generation stamped the leaf from the Hello Harvest Stamp Set over the sentiment – also in Early Espresso ink. On the lower left corner of this panel, I stamped the two leaves again in Early Espresso. The larger of the die cut pumpkins will be placed over these stamped leaves later on.

A Very Vanilla panel was used for the inside sentiment and the lower corner of this panel was decorated with the leaf image. All of the DSP panels were adhered to the card bases. Opening the larger card base, I adhered the small card base to the larger card base so that the spine of the smaller base was on the left (rather than the standard right position). The attached smaller card base was opened, and I attached the inside sentiment panel to the base. To form the flip flap, I first closed the left panel (of the large card base), then closed the right panel of the small card base.

The card front was decorated with the larger die cut pumpkin and was placed over the two stamped leaves on this panel. Opening the card flaps again, the tall, skinny pumpkin was adhered to the flap on the left then a contrasting DSP leaf was adhered to the front of the pumpkin. The remaining die cut DSP leaves were adhered to the right flap.

The leaf from the Hello Harvest Stamp Set was used to decorate the front of the envelope, and a piece of coordinating DSP was adhered to the envelope flap. I fussy cut around the flap to finish off the envelope.

I love fun folds and I think the flip flap fun fold is perfect for showing off beautiful DSP and die cuts! And it’s fun to say, “flip flap”!

Stampin’ Up! Window Wishes Thanksgiving Card

The house is warm and inviting, the candles are lit, and the turkey is in the oven! Today’s card uses the Window Wishes Stamp Set, Windows Dies, and the Painted Pheasant Stamp Set. Don’t you just want to step inside and get a whiff of all of the good aromas?

I started off by stamping the window wreath, candles and flames, then used the coordinating dies from the Window Dies set to cut these out. I also die cut the window outline, and the inside window frame as well as a bow for the wreath.

Next, I used the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder to emboss a Cajun Craze panel. After all, our little house is made of brick! The embossed panel was adhered to a Cajun Craze mat. A length of Satin Edged Ribbon was wrapped around the bottom of this panel and the ends were secured to the back using Tear & Tape. The panel was then adhered to the card front.

Daffodil Delight ink was used to blend ink across the window insert. I concentrated the ink towards the center of the window insert. The candles are giving off a nice glow – all to set the scene! Once the ink blending was completed, I fit the window outline and window insert together face down and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to hold the pieces together. The window unit was then adhered to the card front and slightly overlapping the ribbon.

The window frame was adhered to the inside of the window. The flames were adhere to the candles and these were adhered to the bottom of the window sill. The bow was attached to the wreath and the wreath was adhered towards the top of the window.

The “Happy Thanksgiving” sentiment was stamped in Cajun Craze ink onto a strip of Crushed Curry cardstock. Leaves from the Painted Pheasant Stamp Set were stamped in Crushed Curry on the sentiment label, and I cut the label at an angle on the right. The sentiment label was adhered to the bottom of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used a Textural Element on the card front which overlaps the bottom of the window and the sentiment label. The Textural Element was colored in with a Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blend.

For the inside card panel, I used a piece of Washi Tape to mask off about a 1/2″ on the right side of the panel. I then repeatedly stamped the leaf image from the Painted Pheasant Stamp Set in Crushed Curry ink to form a border. The Washi tape was removed and an additional sentiment was stamped on the inside card panel. The panel was then matted to a Cajun Craze mat and this unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

The same leaves were stamped on the envelope front and envelope flap to finish off the card.

I love Christmas, but I think Thanksgiving remains my most favorite holiday! How about you – which holiday do you prefer? Christmas or Thanksgiving? Let me know in the comments below!
