Stampin’ Up! Rustic Harvest Thanksgiving Card

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has enjoyed a great and productive week!

Tomorrow is our day…Woo hoo! Saturday, October 1 is World Card Making Day. You’ll want to check out the information below, so you don’t miss out on any of the fun! It’s going to be GREAT! Imagine an entire day of crafting!

Today’s Thanksgiving card is all about the beautiful Rustic Harvest 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper! It’s gorgeous!

I started off with a card base in Basic Black cardstock. I adhered a piece of the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper in the pumpkin print to a Crushed Curry cardstock mat then adhered this unit to the card front. I cut a piece of the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper from the Crushed Curry print to 4-3/4″ x 2″, then cut a “V” on one end to form a banner. This DSP banner was then adhered to the top of the card front, lining up with the pumpkin print paper.

Using the Painted Pheasant Stamp Set, I stamped the sentiment “Happy Thanksgiving” to a Basic White sentiment label in Crushed Curry, then adhered the sentiment label to a Basic Black mat. The sentiment label was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and centered on the card front.

I used the grass stamp from the Painted Pheasant Stamp Set to stamp the grass several times onto a white inside panel. This panel was matted to a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock then adhered to the inside of the card. I chose not to stamp a sentiment on the inside of the card. A sentiment can always be added later.

The same grass image from the Painted Pheasant Stamp Set was stamped onto the lower corner of the envelope front and I added a piece of the pumpkin print Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper to the envelope flap – fussy cutting around the flap to finish off the envelope.

To finish off the card front I tied a double bow using Linen Thread and adhered the bow to the top center of the sentiment label using a Mini Glue Dot. Two amber gems from the Leaf Label & Amber Gem Combo Pack were added to either side of the sentiment label.

This card came together so quickly, and the beautiful designer series paper makes for a lovely and simple Thanksgiving card that anyone would love to receive! Change up the sentiment on the front of the card and this would also make a perfect Fall birthday card, get well card or thinking of your card for either male or female!

Stampin’ Up! Hello Harvest Flip Flap Friendship Card

Today’s card uses the Hello Harvest Stamp Set, Rustic Pumpkin Dies, Gingham Cottage 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and the Rustic Harvest 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. Flip Flap cards consist of two card bases combined to make one card with multiple flaps.

I started by cutting the two card bases using Early Espresso cardstock. Essentially, the card consists of a standard size card base and a smaller card base. You can find detailed instructions, including measurements, in the linked pdf project sheet below.

I used a Mossy Meadow print from the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper pack and the Pumpkin Pie print from the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper pack to decorate the panels on both the insides and outsides of the card bases. I die cut the two embossed pumpkins from the Rustic Pumpkin Dies set in Very Vanilla cardstock along with two pumpkin stems and two pumpkin vines using Mossy Meadow cardstock. A blending brush was used to lightly blend Early Espresso ink over the die cut pumpkins, focusing on the embossed areas. I then adhered the pumpkin stems and pumpkin vines to the two pumpkins.

On the larger Gingham Cottage DSP panel, a sentiment was stamped directly onto the lower right corner of the panel in Early Espresso ink. I then second-generation stamped the leaf from the Hello Harvest Stamp Set over the sentiment – also in Early Espresso ink. On the lower left corner of this panel, I stamped the two leaves again in Early Espresso. The larger of the die cut pumpkins will be placed over these stamped leaves later on.

A Very Vanilla panel was used for the inside sentiment and the lower corner of this panel was decorated with the leaf image. All of the DSP panels were adhered to the card bases. Opening the larger card base, I adhered the small card base to the larger card base so that the spine of the smaller base was on the left (rather than the standard right position). The attached smaller card base was opened, and I attached the inside sentiment panel to the base. To form the flip flap, I first closed the left panel (of the large card base), then closed the right panel of the small card base.

The card front was decorated with the larger die cut pumpkin and was placed over the two stamped leaves on this panel. Opening the card flaps again, the tall, skinny pumpkin was adhered to the flap on the left then a contrasting DSP leaf was adhered to the front of the pumpkin. The remaining die cut DSP leaves were adhered to the right flap.

The leaf from the Hello Harvest Stamp Set was used to decorate the front of the envelope, and a piece of coordinating DSP was adhered to the envelope flap. I fussy cut around the flap to finish off the envelope.

I love fun folds and I think the flip flap fun fold is perfect for showing off beautiful DSP and die cuts! And it’s fun to say, “flip flap”!

Stampin’ Up! Grassy Grove Masculine Birthday Card Using the Torn Paper & Ink Blending Technique

This is a CAS from Frenchie Stamps which I saw on Instagram. Her card was monochromatic, but I chose to use several ink colors on my version of this card. I used a blending brush to ink blend some beautiful Starry Sky ink above torn pieces of copy paper. This masculine card uses little in the way of supplies and works up quickly! I’m not sure of the official name for this technique but I’m calling it the Torn Paper and Ink Blending Technique. The pine trees, deer and ground stamps are from the Grassy Gove Stamp Set. The sentiments on the card are from the Heron Habitat Stamp Set.

I started with a Basic White cardstock panel. I tore a piece of copy paper, imagining mountains and valleys as I tore the paper. The paper was secured temporarily to the top of the white panel and using a blending brush I began blending Starry Sky ink above the torn paper. Before removing this paper mask, I inked up the pine trees image from the Grassy Grove Stamp Set and stamped the trees in Evening Evergreen ink and partially stamped the trees.

I proceeded to create two more mountains from torn paper, then stamping the pine trees on the tops of the mountains. The stamped pine trees gradually get larger as you move down the panel which helps to establish distance between the mountains. I also concentrated the Starry Sky ink just above the torn paper edge, which provides shadows on the mountains.

The inked panel was adhered to an Early Espresso mat and a knot was tied using two pieces of Faux Suede Ribbon. The ends of the ribbon were secured to the back of the Early Espresso panel then the unit was adhered to the card front.

An additional greeting was stamped on the inside panel and matted with Early Espresso cardstock before being adhered to the inside of the card.

The envelope front and envelope flap are decorated with the pine tree image from the Grassy Grove Stamp Set to finish off the card.

I love to ink blend and I was thrilled to give this a try! I love the look! How about you?

Stampin’ Up! Quiet Meadow Sympathy Card

I used the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set, the Sun Prints 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper, and the Basic Borders Dies to create this blue and white sympathy card. The Quiet Meadow Stamp Set is perfectly suited for creating sympathy, thinking of you and get-well cards.

For the card base I used a piece of thick basic white cardstock. The card front contains two panels – one in Starry Sky and the top layer uses a piece of the Sun Prints DSP in Night of Navy. These two panels were die cut using the Basic Borders Dies.

Flowers from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set were stamped onto the Night of Navy DSP in Night of Navy ink for a tone-on-tone look. I then stamped the same flowers using white craft ink for a different look. I love the shadow effect the tone-on-tone stamping provides. I used the dotted stamp to stamp dots around the edges of three sides of the DSP panel for some added interest.

A sentiment label in basic white was added to the top portion of the card along with a double circle of Simply Elegant Trim. An additional greeting was added to the inside panel, along with a simple stamped flower from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set. The panel was matted to a piece of Starry Sky and adhered to the inside of the card.

A single flower from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set was stamped onto the envelope front and I added a piece of coordinating DSP to the envelope flap and cut around the flap to finish off the envelope.

We never like to have to mail sympathy cards but when needed, this sympathy card is quick and easy to recreate.

Stampin’ Up! Happier Than Happy Swing Fun Fold Welcome Baby Card

Happy Friday! I hope you all have had an enjoyable and productive week!

This simple and sweet swing fun fold Welcome Baby card was created using the Happier Than Happy Bundle and Happy Forest Friends 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. You can’t help but smile when creating with this bundle and designer series paper – the images are so much fun and perfect for a baby card! This fun fold is a CASE from http://www.stampingwithamore.com.

I started with a card base in Calypso Coral measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and scored at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4″. I used the second to largest scalloped circle die from the Layering Circles Dies to die cut a 1/2 circle on the 2-1/8″ score line using my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Detailed instructions are included in the project sheet linked below on how to die cut this 1/2 circle. Once the 1/2 circle was die cut, I adhered a full circle in Calypso Coral cardstock to the back of the 1/2 cut circle on the inside of the card.

Two additional circles were die cut from Basic White cardstock. The sentiment “hello, baby” was stamped in Calypso Coral ink on the first circle and then decorated with several stamped and die cut images from the Happier Than Happy Bundle. This circle was then adhered to the front of the card, lining up the full circle with the 1/2 circle cut into the card base.

For the second circle, I stamped the sentiment “Welcome” in Calypso Coral ink then applied a temporary adhesive to the front of this circle (the stamped side), and temporarily adhered this circle to the back of the 1/2 circle. Glue was applied to the back of the full circle then the card was closed and the second circle was adhered to the inside of the card. The inside sentiment lines up with the outside sentiment and is not visible when the card is fully closed. I then carefully separated the front of the inside circle and removed the temporary adhesive. The inside circle was then decorated with a pine tree, mushroom and cute little owl.

The envelope front was decorated with a stamped pine tree and mushroom and I adhered a piece of coordinating DSP to the envelope flap.

I was a little intimidated to try this fun fold but, in all honesty, it was very easy! I hope you’ll give it a try!

Stampin’ Up! Christmas Lights Snowflake Holiday Card

There is nothing more beautiful than freshly fallen snow sparkling and shimmering in the sunlight after a snowstorm!  Today’s card captures all of that beautiful shimmer and sparkle!  I used the Christmas Lights Stamp Set, Twinkling Lights Dies and the Wonderful Snowflakes to create this card.  And lots of Wink of Stella, of course!  The sentiments are from the Sweet Candy Canes Stamp Set.  This simple two-toned card makes an elegant statement. Unfortunately, it is difficult to capture all of the sparkle in a photo but trust me…it’s there and it’s beautiful!

I started by adhering a white cardstock panel to a Night of Navy card base. I then adhered two Wonderful Snowflakes to the card front – one in the upper left corner and one in the lower right corner. The white Wonderful Snowflakes are iridescent and sparkle all on their own!

I used the large snowflake dies from the Twinkling Lights Dies set to die cut a snowflake from white cardstock. Two dies are used together to create the single snowflake on the card front. Once the snowflake was die cut, I used a sponge dauber and Balmy Blue ink to blend ink on the snowflake. I concentrated the ink on the outside edges of the snowflake and softly blended ink towards the center of the snowflake. The entire snowflake was then dusted with Wink of Stella…more shine!

A length of white Glittered Organdy Ribbon was adhered to the card front diagonally using Stampin’ Seal. I then adhered the ink blended snowflake to the center of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A sentiment from the Sweet Candy Canes Stamp Set was stamped onto a 1/2″ strip of white cardstock then matted to a strip of Night of Navy cardstock. The sentiment label was adhered over top of the ink blended snowflake on the center of the card. Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the card front.

For the inside panel, I used the medium sized snowflake stamp from the Christmas Lights Stamp Set, to stamp multiple snowflakes in Balmy Blue ink in the upper left and lower right of the panel. The snowflakes were dusted with Wink of Stella. An additional sentiment was added to the inside panel from the Sweet Candy Canes Stamp Set and also stamped in Balmy Blue ink.

The envelope was finished off with the same medium sized snowflake being stamped in Balmy Blue ink on the envelope front and envelope flap. Of course, Wink of Stella was used to add sparkle!

This completes today’s card. These cards could be produced in multiples quickly and make for a simple but elegant option. The die cut snowflakes would also make great Christmas tree decorations or package decorations!

Stampin’ Up! Christmas Scottie Card

The Christmas Scottie Bundle (stamps and punch) were used to create this quick and easy card. But since I’m the Mom of two adorable Westies – Maezie and Mackenzie – and both Scotties and Westies are similar in size and build, I’m calling the dog on this card a Westie!

I started off with a card base in Blackberry Bliss (such a rich color and one of my favorites) and added two Petal Pink panels that were embossed using the snowflake pattern from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders. Before these panels were adhered, I dusted Wink of Stella on all of the raised portion of the embossed panels. We’re going for lots of sparkle on this card!

The panels were adhered to the card front and I left a 1/2″ space between the thin panel and the larger panel. Glittered Organdy Ribbon was added in the Blackberry Bliss strip between the two panels and secured using Tear & Tape, then a second length of ribbon was used to tie a bow and the bow was added to the center using a Mini Glue Dot.

Two white squares were stamped then matted to squares of Blackberry Bliss cardstock. The first white square was stamped using the plaid stamp from the Christmas Scotties Stamp Set and stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink. The second white square was stamped with the “Merry Christmas” sentiment and I added snowflakes stamped in Petal Pink ink on opposite corners of the square.

The punch was used to punch out the dog in white and a bow in Petal Pink. The bow was adhered to the dog, and the dog was added to the plaid stamped square. The squares were then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

An additional sentiment was stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink on the inside panel, as well as snowflakes stamped in Petal Pink. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card. The envelope was decorated with Petal Pink snowflakes both front and back.

I just love the white dog (Westie) against the Blackberry Bliss plaid and all of the fun sparkle on this card!

Here’s my inspiration for today’s card! Don’t they look like bookends?

Stampin’ Up! Kindest Gnomes Thank You Card

This quick and easy fall themed thank you card features the Kindest Gnomes Bundle (stamps and dies), the Gingham Cottage 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and the Leaf Label & Amber Gem Combo Pack to make for a fun and fresh-looking design!

I started by using blending brushes to blend Crushed Curry, Real Red and Garden Green ink onto three of the maple leaves from the Leaf Label & Amber Gem Combo Pack. A strip of the Gingham Cottage DSP in Garden Green was adhered the card front white panel and the leaves were arranged over this strip.

Dies from the Gnomes Dies set were used to create the gnome shown on the card front. The gnome was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A sentiment was stamped onto the card front and several amber gems were adhered to the card front as well.

For the inside panel, I adhered another strip of the Gingham Cottage DSP and stamped an additional sentiment.

For the envelope, the “sitting” gnome was stamped in Memento ink on the envelope front and colored in using Stampin’ Blends. An additional piece of DSP adorns the envelope flap.

Simple, quick and easy! I love the images in the Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set and the coordinating Gnomes Dies! These gnomes can be used on all types of cards – birthday, thinking of you, friendship, thank you, Fall, Thanksgiving, Christmas and even anniversary cards (there is a female gnome included in the stamp set) – making this a very versatile set to own!

Stampin’ Up! Peace To You Christmas Card

Happy Monday! I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend…it went by way too quickly!

The Peace To You Stamp Set might be overlooked in the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog, but this is a must have stamp set if you’re making Christmas cards for family and friends! Just look at the beautiful, stamped image in the card above. The Peace To You Stamp Set includes a second large image of Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus, and several sentiments.

I started with a card base in Starry Sky cardstock. I used my Stamparatus to stamp the image onto a panel of Basic White cardstock. I stamped the image in Starry Sky ink several times until I had a nice solid image. I then matted the stamped panel onto a piece of Orchid Oasis cardstock.

A sentiment was stamped onto a piece of white cardstock then matted to a piece of Starry Sky cardstock. I tied a length of silver Simply Elegant Trim around the left side of the matted panel and tied a simple knot. The sentiment label was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The stamped and matted panel was also adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

An additional sentiment from the Peace To You Stamp Set was stamped onto the cards inside panel, and I adhered a strip of Starry Sky 2022-2024 In Color Designer Series Paper to this panel.

The card was finished off by adding a few silver Festive Pearls to the card front and a piece of coordinating DSP to the envelope flap.

The contrast between the white cardstock and the Starry Sky stamped image makes for an elegant card that would be suitable for either male or female. What do you think?
