Stampin’ Up! Textured Floral Birthday Card in Blues

Today’s card was created using the Textured Floral Bundle along with some of the pretty Fresh As A Daisy 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. The Boho Blue designer series paper background, combined with the Azure Afternoon flowers and touch of Night of Navy greenery blend well together!

I started off by stamping the flowers in Azure Afternoon ink. The flower center for the large flower was stamped in Night of Navy and I die cut the center for the small flower from Night of Navy Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper. Leaves were stamped in Garden Green and I used the coordinating dies from the Textured Floral Dies set to cut out these images. I also die cut a greenery sprig from Garden Green cardstock and two sprigs from Night of Navy Soft Shimmer paper.

I used the second to largest die from the Countryside Corners Dies to cut out an octagon in Basic White. The birthday sentiment was stamped onto a white sentiment label and matted to a piece of Night of Navy Soft Shimmer paper.

All of the stamped and die cut flowers, leaves and greenery were arranged and adhered to the octagon, leaving space at the bottom of the octagon for the sentiment label. I adhered the arrangement to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and the sentiment label was adhered slightly overlapping the bottom of the octagon using a combination of Stampin’ Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots.

The inside panel was decorated with the small flower stamped in Azure Afternoon. The flower center was stamped in Night of Navy.

The envelope front was adorned with the same small flower image, and I adhered a piece of coordinating designer series paper to the envelope flap and trimmed the excess paper away from the flap. Blue Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins were added to the card front along with a small double bow tied from white Baker’s Twine to complete the card!

Stampin’ Up! Zany Zoo Adventure Birthday Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! I’m looking forward to seeing the projects in the Hop this week…I know the projects will be inspirational as always! If you are hopping over from Terry Lynn’s blog…welcome and thanks for stopping by!

My card today was created using the Zany Zoo Bundle and the Zoo Crew 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper.  Mr. Lion is on a grand outdoor adventure and is bringing Happy Birthday wishes!

We have a Color Challenge for today’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. I was able to use all five colors on my card. Here is the Color Challenge…

I started off by cutting a rectangle from Pool Part y cardstock using the 3rd to largest die in the Deckled Rectangles set. This panel was then dry embossed using the crosshatch embossing folder from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders set. I adhered a Pumpkin Pie mat to my Crumb Cake card base, then adhered the embossed panel to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I selected the lion image from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper and fussy cut the lion and campfire. I used Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends to color in the image. Several clouds and pine trees were die cut using the Zany Zoo Dies. The lion was added to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and I adhered the clouds and pine trees to the embossed panel as well.

I stamped the birthday sentiment onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock and used the banner die included with the Zany Zoo Dies to cut out the sentiment. A length of Pool Party Grosgrain Ribbon was adhered diagonally across the top right corner of the embossed panel, and I used a combination of Stampin’ Dimensionals, glue, and a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the sentiment label over the ribbon. The ribbon ends were trimmed flush to the top and side of the card base.

An additional sentiment was stamped onto the inside panel. The raccoon holding balloons was stamped onto the lower left of the panel and I used Pumpkin Pie, Petal Pink, Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends to color in the image along with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. The panel was adhered to a Pumpkin Pie mat then adhered to the inside of the card.

The envelope front was decorated with the same raccoon image and I used the same colors of Stampin’ Blends to color in the image. A piece of coordinating Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap to finish off the envelope.

Stampin’ Up! Hey Chuck Birthday Card

I love making pretty, layered cards on a regular basis but every once in a while, you need to create a card that will make you and others smile! When I saw the Hey Chuck Bundle in the catalog I knew I had to have the set! This particular card is being dropped in the mail to a dear friend of mine. I hope it makes her laugh out loud!

I started off by cutting two Basic White panels and two mats in Real Red cardstock. On one of the white panels I blended Balmy Blue ink in for the sky and I used Pumpkin Pie ink to create what will be the glow of the sun. I stamped a number of images onto white cardstock including one of the chickens, a birthday cake and a fence. A variety of Stampin’ Blend markers were used to color in the images, and I used the coordinating dies from the Hey Chuck Dies set to cut the images out.

The sun image was cut from Lemon Lolly cardstock and I blended Pumpkin Pie ink over the sun’s rays. A circle was cut from Granny Apple Green cardstock using the Stylish Shapes Dies and I cut the circle in half (not quite half) using my paper trimmer. All of the components were arranged onto the ink blended panel and when I was satisfied with the placement, adhered the images to the panel. The chicken and sentiment label were adhered to the panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The panel was then adhered to one of the Real Red mats and then adhered to the card front.

An additional sentiment was stamped on the second white panel along with one of the chicken images. the chicken was colored in using Lemon Lolly and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends. The panel was adhered to a Real Red mat and then adhered to the inside of the card.

One of the chickens was partially stamped onto the envelope front and I stamped the birthday cake image onto the envelope flap. Both images were colored in with Stampin’ Blends. Several Lemon Lolly Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems were added to the card front to finish off the card.

Stampin’ Up! Zany Zoo Adventure Birthday Card

A skunk bird watching, a lion toasting a marshmallow and a pig hiking…Oh My! I used the fun Zany Zoo Bundle and Zoo Crew 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper to create today’s card. The Zany Zoo bundle and Zoo Crew paper is packed full of fun critters and makes great cards for children…and the young at heart!

The reverse side of the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper is all black and white prints which are perfect for coloring. And that’s exactly what I did! I colored a small flower print black and white panel using Lemon Lime Twist, Bubble Bath and Lemon Lolly. The panel was adhered to a black mat then this unit was added to the front of a Lemon Lime Twist card base.

I used a 2-3/8″ circle punch to punch out two white circles and I used the 2nd to largest die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set to cut out two black circles. I also used the dies from the Zany Zoom Dies set to cut out four pine trees from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, and I cut out the skunk from the designer series paper. The pine trees were adhered to one of the white circles using glue and the skunk was added to this circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The circle was then adhered to one of the black circles.

On the second white circle, I used the confetti stamp and stamped this image around the edge of the circle in Pool Party ink. The sentiment was stamped in the center of the circle using Lemon Lime Twist ink. The circle was then adhered to the second black circle. The sentiment label was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed onto the upper left of the card front. The circle with the skunk was adhered to the lower right of the card front. I tied a double bow using Lemon Lime Twist ribbon from the Ribbon Due Combo Pack and adhered the bow to the top of the sentiment label using a Mini Glue Dot.

For the inside panel, I added a 1″ strip of the colored designer series paper, then adhered the panel to a Basic Black mat. This unit was then adhered to the inside of the card.

A coordinating piece of designer series paper was colored and adhered to the envelope flap. I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap to finish off the envelope. Lastly, a few Glossy Dots were added to the card front.

Stampin’ Up! Circle Sayings Birthday Card – Sneak Peek! Quick & Easy Card!

I created this fun birthday card in a matter of minutes using the Circle Sayings Bundle which includes a stamp set and a 2-3/8″ circle punch! I used the Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper for my background which includes a lot of the new and returning colors!

I started off by using the circle punch to punch out two circles in Basic White cardstock. Then punched additional circles – one from Pretty Peacock cardstock and another from Berry Burst cardstock. Using the stamps from the Circle Sayings Stamp Set, I stamped the “Celebrate” circle sentiment onto one of the white circles using Berry Burst ink. On the same circle, I stamped the “today” sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink. On the second white circle I stamped the cupcake image using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and I used Stampin’ Blends in Bubble Bath and Lemon Lolly to color in the cupcake image. A Stampin’ Blend Color Lifter was used to lift a few highlights on the cupcake.

The white, stamped circles were matted to the Berry Burst and Pretty Peacock circles leaving a small reveal of these colors at the bottom of the white circles. A multi-color star print pattern was chosen from the Bright and Beautiful 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Pack. The paper was cut to 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″ and adhered to the Berry Burst card front. The sentiment circle was adhered to the upper right of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and the cupcake circle was adhered to the lower left of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The “Happy Birthday” sentiment was stamped onto the inside panel using Pretty Peacock ink and I stamped the cupcake image on the lower right of the panel and colored in the image using Stampin’ Blends. The panel was adhered to a Pretty Peacock mat, then this unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

The same cupcake image was stamped onto the envelope front and colored in. I added a piece of coordinating designer series paper to the envelope flap and trimmed away the excess paper from the flap to finish off the envelope. A double bow in Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon was added to the card front using a Mini Glue Dot and I added multiple Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems to the card front. This completes this fun and easy card! So simple and such uplifting images!

As I’m writing this blog post this morning (my posts are written one day ahead of time) I am sitting by my back door listening to all of the birds singing and sipping my coffee. Stampin’ Up! Zany Zoo Birthday Card – Sneak Peek!

The Zany Zoo Bundle and the Zoo Crew 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper pack were used to create today’s sneak peek of upcoming products! I also used a returning color on this card – Lost Lagoon – and a new color – Lemon Lolly! Any little ballerina would love to receive this birthday card! Who wouldn’t love a dancing cat complete with tutu?

A note about the Zoo Crew 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper – You have to see this paper up close! The pack contains two 12″ x 12″ sheets of six different designs (for a total of 12 sheets). There are: 1) zoo critters rolling on skates, skooters and bicycles, 2) zoo critters partying, 3) zoo critters pursuing hobbies such as cooking, reading and painting, 4) zoo critters playing musical instruments or singing, 5) zoo critters dancing, and 6) zoo critters pursuing outdoor activities such as hiking and bird watching. The reverse side of all the papers, or the B Side as I like to call it, are all black and white patterns – so great for use on other cards or scrapbooking projects! You have to see this paper up close to really appreciate how fun it is! Of course the Zany Zoo Bundle includes adorable images and the Zany Zoo Dies will cut out select critters from the designer series paper!

I started by adhering a black and white patterned paper from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper pack to a mat in Pool Party. This unit was then adhered to the front of a card base in Lost Lagoon (returning color!).

From the Zoo Crew paper pack, I cut out the dancing cat, complete with tutu, using the coordinating die from the Zany Zoo Dies set. I used the dark shade of a Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend to color in the cat’s tutu and ballet shoes. I used a Lemon Lolly (new color!) Stampin’ Blend to color in the center of the flower on the cat’s tutu. I used the 2″ Circle Punch to punch out a circle from Lemon Lolly cardstock and adhered the dancing cat to the circle. She’s in the spotlight, after all!

Using dies from the Zany Zoo Dies set, I cut out two curtains and one valance using the scalloped die provided in the set. I also cut out two banners from included dies – one in Basic White and one in Lost Lagoon. I adhered the curtains to the back of the valance. The “Happy Birthday to You” sentiment was stamped in Lost Lagoon ink onto the white die cut banner. I adhered the Lost Lagoon banner behind the white sentiment label and dropped it down a little to reveal some of the Lost Lagoon. The curtain and valance unit was adhered to the card front. The dancing cat and circle were adhered between the curtains using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I double bow was tied from white Baker’s Twine and adhered onto the upper right corner of the card front using a Mini Glue Dot. I double stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the sentiment label and adhered it over top of the bow.

For the inside panel, I stamped an additional sentiment in Lost Lagoon ink and stamped confettie around the top of the panel using Pool Party ink. I also adhered a strip of coordinating designer series paper to the bottom of the panel. The panel was adhered to a mat in Pool Party then this unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

To finish up the card I adhered several Lemon Lolly Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems to the card front. How adorable is this stamp set and dies? So cute!

Stampin’ Up! Cheerful Daisies Book Fold Birthday Card Sneak Peek!

The Cheerful Daisies Bundle along with the Fresh as a Daisy 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper from the upcoming 2023-2024 Annual Catalog is exactly that…Cheerful! I had so much fun playing with this set!

The small Daisy detailed stamp was second-generation stamped onto Basic White cardstock using Pebbled Path ink (Pebbled Path is one of the new 2023-2025 In Colors). I also stamped several leaves in Garden Green ink onto Garden Green cardstock as well as one Daisy stem. Coordinating dies from the Cheerful Daisies Dies set were used to cut out these images along with an embossed Basic White daisy cut out which was layered on top of the stamped Daisy. The thin branch image was die cut from Copper Clay cardstock (also one of the new 2023-2025 In Colors).

I used the Bubble Bath Daisy print from the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper for my card front. I second panel from the same sheet of DSP in a white and Crushed Curry stripe was used on the spine of the Book Fold. The DSP Panels were adhered to Copper Clay mats, then adhered to the front of a Garden Green card base.

Copper Clay Textured Ribbon was wrapped vertically around the spine of the book bold and the ends were adhered to the inside of the spine using Tear & Tape. I then glued the spine together to form the book fold. A knot from the same ribbon was added to the strip of ribbon using a Mini Glue Dot.

The sentiment was stamped onto Basic White cardstock using Crushed Cury ink and I used the sentiment label die from the Cheerful Daisies Dies set to cut the label out. The die cut branch image was first adhered to the card front. The Daisy and stem were adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The leaves were then tucked under the stem and adhered using liquid glue. The Crushed Curry Daisy center was stamped onto white cardstock, fussy cut, and adhered to the center of the Daisy using a Stampin’ Dimensional. The sentiment label was adhered towards the bottom of the card front using Stampin Dimensionals.

On the inside panel I second-generation stamped the small Daisy onto the lower right in Pebbled Path ink, and the center of the Daisy was stamped in Crushed Curry Ink. I stamped an additional Daisy onto a Post It Note and fussy cut around the lower petals to create a mask. I adhered the fussy cut Daisy over the stamped Daisy on the panel, then stamped the Daisy stem in Garden Green. Several leaves were also stamped along the stem. The panel was adhered to a Copper Clay mat, then this unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

I used the light shade of a Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blend to add just a bit of color to the die cut Daisy on the card front as well as the stamped Daisies (another great new color, by the way). Several 2023-2025 In Color Dots were added to the card front and a piece of coordinating designer series paper was added to the envelope flap. The same small Daisy was stamped onto the envelope front.

The new 2023-2025 In Colors are very muted earth tones…they are absolutely gorgeous! I can already tell that Copper Clay is going to be one of my new favorites…it’s a beautiful reddish brown! I’m an earth tones girl!

Stampin’ Up! Sending Smiles Birthday Card – #simplestamping

Pretty doesn’t need to be complicated! This easy-to-create project is great for beginner crafters or experienced crafters alike! This card was created using only ink and paper and stamps from the Sending Smiles Stamp Set.

I started off by stamping the sentiments at the top left of a Basic White panel. The “Sending” sentiment was stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink and the “Birthday Wishes” sentiment was stamped in Highland Heather.

Along the bottom of the panel, I stamped three stems in Old Olive ink and equally spaced these stems across the panel. The stem on the left does not have any flower blooms. The center stem was stamped with two small flowers in Highland Heather ink and Daffodil Delight centers. The stem on the right was stamped with a large flower in Sweet Sorbet ink with a Daffodil Delight center. The thin, multi-petaled flowers were used to fill in between the taller flower stems. This flower was first stamped in Highland Heather, then I stamped again in Gorgeous Grape ink, making sure to vary the height of the blooms and to allow some of the Highland Heather blooms in the back to show.

The completed, stamped panel was adhered to a mat in Daffodil Delight then the panel was adhered to the card front using liquid glue.

Stamping on the inside panel was kept simple. The single-flower stem was stamped onto the lower left of the inside panel and the large flower was stamped in Sweet Sorbet with the center of the flower stamped in Daffodil Delight. This panel was also adhered to a Daffodil Delight mat, then adhered to the inside of the card.

The same stem and flower that was stamped on the inside panel was stamped onto the envelope front. Just the flower and flower center were stamped onto the envelope flap.

Stampin’ Up! Rhino Ready Birthday Card

Today’s card was created using the Rhino Ready Bundle (stamps and dies) and some ink blending. I love creating scenes using die cuts and ink blending! The Rhino Ready Bundle is now available as an Online Exclusive! As the name implies…you can only find these items online.

I started off by ink blending a Basic White panel to create a safari type landscape, complete with open plains, distant mountains and a Marula Tree (I had to google the name of the tree!). I also die cut a number of components using the Rhino Ready Dies. The image of our cute little Rhino and his bird friend was stamped using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and I used a variety of Stampin’ Blend colors to color in the image. All of the components were arranged onto the ink blended panel and adhered with either liquid glue or Stampin’ Dimensionals. This card uses quite a few inks and cardstock colors! If you don’t have the exact colors I used – use what you have and make it fun! If you would like to use the exact colors I used, I have all of the products listed at the bottom of this post for you.

The finished panel was adhered to a mat in Highland Heather then this unit was adhered to a card base in Mossy Meadow.

For the inside of the card, I stamped an additional sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, and I stamped the sitting Rhino towards the bottom of the panel and colored him in using Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. The panel was adhered to a Highland Heather mat then this unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

The same image of the sitting Rhino was stamped onto the envelope front and colored using Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends and a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. The small bird was stamped onto the envelope flap and colored with Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends.

To finish off the card I used the light shade of an Old Olive Stampin’ Blend to add a shadow under the Rhino, plants and tree trunk and I used a Stampin’ Blend Color Lifter to lift a highlight on the Rhino’s tusk.

Stampin’ Up! Potted Geraniums Birthday Card

It’s the first time I am using the Potted Geraniums Bundle…I’m not sure why I haven’t pulled this set out until now!

I used one of the Basics 3D Embossing Folders to emboss a panel of Basic White cardstock and then adhered the embossed panel to a card base of Mossy Meadow. These 3D embossing folders are a new release as part of the Online Exclusives, and they are awesome. As the name implies these are only available online! You won’t find any of the Online Exclusives in any catalog.

From small scraps of Poppy Parade and Calypso Coral I used the dies from the Geraniums Dies to cut out the flower tops. The leaves were die cut from Granny Apple Green and Mossy Meadow. I used the two-step stamps to stamp the flowerpot using Cajun Craze ink. I assembled the flower top, leaves and flowerpot and adhered this to the card front. A linen double bow was added to the base of the flower stem.

The Geraniums Dies includes a pretty, decorative sentiment label die and I used this die to cut out a sentiment label from Basic White cardstock. I stamped the sentiment onto the label using Cajun Craze ink. I then used the dark shade of a Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blend to outline the sentiment label. The label was popped onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the inside panel, I stamped an additional sentiment from the Potted Geraniums Stamp Set and then stamped the small flower marker in the lower right corner. The inside panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

Several Brushed Brass Butterflies were added to the card front to finish off the card. I always decorate my card envelopes but opted not to this time.

Don’t forget that you can still purchase beautiful bundles and designer series paper from the Annual Catalog! The catalog is active through the end of April!
