White Embossed Flowers on Black

The technique I used on this card is sometimes called Black Magic and it certainly is magical. Using the Flowing Flowers stamp set, the sentiment and flowers were stamped onto black cardstock using VersaMark ink then white embossing powder was applied and heat set. Stampin’ Blends markers were then used to color in the flowers. This technique creates a striking look!

The card also highlights two of our newest 2022-2024 In Colors – Parakeet Party and Sweet Sorbet! I had a lot of fun creating this card…who doesn’t love coloring and the Stampin’ Blends work perfectly on the embossed images, including blending colors. A double metallic bow and some Rhinestone basic jewels finish off the card.

You can view the project for this card by clicking on the image below.

I hope you give this technique a try and have fun with it! Have a wonderful day and stay crafty!

Another Sneak Peek – Sweet Songbirds / Last Chance and Retiring Products Sale Going on Now! / May Paper Pumpkin Surprise

Sweet songbirds card project

Here is another sneak peek from the new Annual Catalog – the Sweet Songbirds Bundle which includes the Sweet Songbirds stamp set and Songbirds Builder Punch. How cute is this little bird! I had so much fun playing with this bundle and already have another card idea using this set…I can’t wait to show you. By sharing these sneak peeks, I hope to inspire you to purchase some of the new items from the upcoming catalog. I promise you won’t be disappointed and if you’re like me…you’ll want it all.

Today’s card sits on a Sweet Sorbet card base – one of our new In Colors…and it’s gorgeous! I stamped the branches, leaves and flowers on a white panel, punched the cute little bird using Sweet Sorbet, white and Daffodil Delight cardstock, then used Stampin’ Blends to enhance the shading on the stamped images. The sentiment label on the card uses the wood plank stamp and a greeting from the stamp set and is hanging from a tree branch! I used a sponge dauber to ink in some sky in Balmy Blue and I wasn’t worried about getting the ink completely smooth. This card is meant to be playful so have fun with it!

The new catalog launches on May 3 for customer orders. I’ll be sharing some additional projects using new items from the catalog over the next several weeks so be sure to check back often. You won’t be disappointed. The new catalog is packed with some amazing new items!

Hand-Penned Petals Thank You Card / April Host Code for Customers

Hand-Penned Petals Thank You Card

I hope you are having a GREAT day! It’s beautiful here in the Mid-Atlantic!

Today’s card was created using the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set and the Hand-Penned 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper…which is gorgeous by the way! I started with a card base in Highland Heather and die cut two white panels using the Stitched So Sweetly die set. Each of these panels was mounted on a black mat and one features the beautiful DSP and the other a stamped and colored flower image. Can you tell I love layering? Can’t help myself…

Both the Hand-Penned DSP and the Stitched So Sweetly dies are retiring. If these are items you think you need in your stash I highly recommend that you order very soon. When the items are sold out they are gone for good. You can find a link to these products at the end of this blog post. As of right the writing of this post they are both still available.

Have a wonderful day and take a few minutes to get outside and enjoy nature!

Calming Oceanfront Card / The New Catalog Comes Out in a Month! / Retiring and Last Chance Items

Calming oceanfront card

Today’s card uses the Oceanfront stamp set and features a double embossed frame around the white card panel. I did my best to capture the embossed frame in the photo but wasn’t having a lot of luck. The frame was created by scoring on each of the panel sides at 1/4″ and 1/2″ and nicely sets off this calm ocean scene.

I used a sentiment from the Paradise Palms stamp set as the font is a lot of fun and is stamped on a cloud. The die cut fence panel came from the Horizon dies set.

This card took minimal time to create and would be suitable for male or female. Products used to create this card are included at the bottom of this post. You can download the project sheet for this card by clicking on the icon below.

Kite Delight Birthday Card / Waves of the Ocean Collection – Product Availability Update

I have very fond memories of flying a kite at my grandparent’s house as a child. They had a nice piece of property in a country setting surrounded by fields, pasture and woods. The field sat on a hill and was the best place to launch a kite. You just had to be careful not to step in a groundhog hole! I’m going to date myself here – when I was young, we didn’t have expensive, fancy kites. The kites we used were plastic with wooden dowels to form the support and you had to put them together. My grandmother would find a few fabric scraps and we would tie these onto the kite string. In my mind I can still clearly see the kite soar and sway in the wind. Wonderful memories!

Today’s card uses the Kite Delight stamp set. What happy images in this stamp set! I used a Night of Navy card base and added accents in Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and white. This birthday card would be suitable for a child, teen, man or woman. The card contains one die cut rectangle and colored and fussy cut images – nothing too difficult to handle.

You can find all the details to make this card on the project sheet linked below.

A product list is included at the bottom of this post if you’re interested in purchasing any of the items used to make this card.

Products Used to Make Today’s Card:

Waves of the Ocean Gallery-Style Card / Something Special for Customers in March

Waves of the ocean gallery-style card

This crashing wave is displayed gallery-style on the card front. This is a super easy card to make and requires limited supplies. Read on…

I first stamped the wave image directly onto a piece of Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper, cut to approximately 4″ x 5″, then quartered, mounted on white cardstock, then mounted on a Coastal Cabana mat. This was then adhered to the Night of Navy card base. A sentiment label was added, and a little bling from the Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels. The inside of the card features the same DSP and a pelican perched on pilings and the card is complete!

You can access the project sheet for this card by clicking here. You will find a link to my online store at the bottom of the project sheet in case you’d like to purchase the items to make this project, or you can click on the “Shop with me” button located at the top right of the screen.

The Waves of Inspiration and Waves Dies are an early release to the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. However, the Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels, Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper and the Blue Foils Specialty Paper are only while supplies last through May 2. If you want these items, I highly recommend that you order now before they are gone for good! You can access a flyer for the Waves of the Ocean Collection by clicking here.
