Stampin’ Up! Beautifully Happy Birthday Card

This card was created using the Beautifully Happy Stamp Set and the lovely Fancy Flora 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. The Beautifully Happy Stamp Set can be earned for free from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog beginning this week – January 5! The Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper is also orderable beginning January 5 from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog!

Before I get into the card…HAPPY NEW YEAR to all! It is hard to believe that we are into another new year already. I hope the new year finds you all well and wishing you a year filled with joy and happiness!

The Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper is a great backdrop for the images from the Beautifully Happy Stamp Set! I chose a piece of paper with Soft Succulent, Balmy Blue, Orchid Oasis and Fresh Freesia which goes perfectly with the Fresh Freesia card base!

The Beautifully Happy Stamp Set is a two-step stamp set, meaning that you first stamp the outline image, then come back in with filler stamps to stamp in the flower color and leaf color. I love the two-step stamps for making quick and easy cards – no coloring!

I started by adhering a panel of the Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper to my card base. On a white panel, I stamped the large outline image of the flower using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, then used the filler stamp to stamp the flowers in Fresh Freesia ink. The leaf filler stamp was used to fill in the leaves with Soft Succulent ink. I also stamped the small bee using Memento ink just above one of the flower blossoms and used a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend to color in the bee. I also used the same Stampin’ Blend to color in the flower center since I had the marker out. The dot stamp was used to stamp dots around the flower image in Fresh Freesia ink.

A sentiment was stamped onto a sentiment label measuring 3-1/2″ x 3/4″ and I stamped the sentiment to the right of the label – leaving room for a small bow tied in Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon. The sentiment label was adhered to a slightly taller strip of coordinating designer series paper, then this was adhered to the card front, leaving a 1/16″ reveal of the white panel showing at the bottom. The panel was then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the inside panel, I mirrored the size of this panel to the panel placed on the front of the card. I stamped an additional sentiment on the inside panel in Fresh Freesia ink and adhered a second strip of designer series paper to the bottom of this panel. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

On the envelope front, I used the smaller flower outline image and stamped this in Memento ink. The filler stamps for the flowers and leaves were used to fill in the image using Fresh Freesia and Soft Succulent inks. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap, and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap to finish off the envelope.

Lastly, I added several Opaque Adhesive-backed Gems to the card front.

I’m loving this color combination…it makes for a very cheerful card and this card came together very quickly using the two-step stamps!

Stampin’ Up! Two-Tone Flora Birthday Card – Another Sneak Peek from the Mini Catalog!

Happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas! Here’s another sneak peek from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog for you! I used the Two-Tone Flora Bundle and the Fancy Flora 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper to create this pretty card. I used a sentiment from the Something Fancy Stamp Set. The Two-Tone Flora Stamp Set is a two-step stamp set, meaning that you can first stamp the detailed image, then use the coordinating stamp to stamp the solid image…very fun to play with!

I first adhered a panel from the gorgeous Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper pack to a card base in Orchid Oasis (my absolute favorite, favorite color!). I then used the largest die to cut out the intricate floral pattern in Basic White cardstock. I trimmed down this large die cut – trimming around the cut-out flower and leaf shapes to reveal more of the pretty designer series paper underneath. The die cut panel was then adhered to the card front using very small drops of glue.

Using Scraps of white cardstock I stamped two of the pretty Two-Tone Flora flowers in Orchid Oasis and one in Daffodil Delight. Do you like blue and yellow together as much as I do? I think it’s such a pretty combination! I also stamped two of the leaf sprigs in Soft Succulent ink. I used the coordinating dies from the Two-Tone Flora Dies set to cut out these images. I used a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend to color in the flower centers on the blue flowers and a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend to color in the center of the yellow flower.

The flowers and leaf sprigs were dry fit onto the lower left side of the card front and when I was happy with the placement, I adhered the yellow flower and two leaf sprigs to the card front using glue. The two blue flowers slightly overlap each other and were adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used a small piece of the designer series paper in Soft Succulent and stamped the sentiment onto this piece of DSP and cut the right and left sides of the sentiment label at an angle. A slightly larger piece of Orchid Oasis cardstock was matted behind the sentiment label and I used my paper snips to cut the same angles on the right and left of the mat. The sentiment label was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and was placed towards the upper right of the card front. A small double bow tied from Orchid Oasis Metallic Woven Ribbon was adhered just under the sentiment label using a Mini Glue Dot.

For the inside panel, I stamped a single flower in Orchid Oasis and colored in the flower center with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card. The same flower was stamped onto the envelope front. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was added to the envelope flap and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap.

To finish off the card I added some Iridescent Pastel Gems…these are gorgeous by the way!

Now that we’re in the grip of winter (it is currently 8 degrees as I’m typing this!) it makes me happy to be working with pretty spring flower images. Spring will be here before you know it!

If you’d like to recreate this card, click on the image below to access the pdf tutorial.

Wishing you a great day!

Stampin’ Up! Queen Bee Birthday Card – Another Sneak Peek!

Happy Monday! Here’s another sneak peek of products coming out in the upcoming January-April 2023 Mini Catalog! How sweet is this queen bee? I used the Queen Bee Stamp Set, Queen Bee Dies, Deckled Rectangles Dies and paper from the Dandy Designs 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper pack (this is a Sale-a-bration item which you can earn for free with $100 purchase during Sale-a-bration!).

This was such a fun card to create! Can you see the flowers on the bee’s wings? I started by adhering a Fresh Freesia mat to a card base in Mango Melody. These are not two colors I would normally put together…but they work really well together! You can see these colors together in the designer series paper.

I used the largest Deckled Rectangle die to die cut the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper panel and adhered that to the card front. There are so many fun prints in the Dandy Designs Designer Series Pack and patterns that would be good for male or female cards!

The Queen Bee was stamped onto a piece of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I mounted the stamp onto my Stamparatus in order to get a nice solid image of the bee. I used Stampin’ Blends in Fresh Freesia, Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron to color in the flowers on the bee’s wings and body (I used these same colors for the smaller bee shown on the card). The third to smallest Deckled Rectangle Die was used to cut out the image. The panel was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The smaller bee image was stamped onto white cardstock and colored. The small bee, some greenery, honeycombs, and flowers were die cut using the Queen Bee Dies. The flowers were die cut from white cardstock and colored with Stampin’ Blends. These components were arranged on the card front until I was satisfied with placement then they were adhered to the card front using glue, with the exception of the small bee which was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A small bow tied from Linen thread was added to the upper right corner of the bee panel and several Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequins were added to the card front as well. No sentiment was added to the card front.

On the inside panel, I stamped the sentiment “Happy Birthday” using Fresh Freesia ink. The flower and greenery image from the Queen Bee Stamp Set was stamped on the lower left corner of this panel and colored using Stampin’ Blends. The panel was then adhered to a mat in Fresh Freesia and this unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

The same flower and greenery image was stamped and colored on the front of the envelope and a piece of coordinating DSP was added to the envelope flap to complete the card.

The Queen Bee Bundle was truly a fun set to play with! This bundle is available for customer orders beginning on January 5th!

Stampin’ Up! Penguin Place Winter Birthday Card

I used the soon-to-retire Penguin Place Stamp Set, Penguin Builder Punch and Storybook Gnomes 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper to create this card. How adorable is this little penguin?

This card worked up very quick and would be great for anyone with a winter birthday coming up soon…I bet it brings a smile to their face!

I started off by adhering a piece of the Storybook Gnome Designer Series Paper in a Pool Party snowflake print to a card front in Pool Party. I used the Layering Circles Dies to cut out a circle – also in Pool Party. Several hills were stamped onto the circle as well as snowflakes.

Next, the penguin was stamped in Memento ink onto a piece of scrap Basic White cardstock. The penguin’s nose and feet were stamped in Mango Melody ink. I then used the Penguin Builder Punch to cut out the penguin. I also stamped the hat onto a scrap of white cardstock in Night of Navy ink and fussy cut the hat. The hat was adhered to the top of the penguin’s head using small drops of liquid glue. The penguin was then adhered to the die cut circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A sentiment from the Penguin Place Stamp Set was stamped onto a Pool Party sentiment label using Night of Navy ink and adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Multiple rhinestones were placed around the penguin and on either side of the sentiment.

On the card’s inside panel, I stamped the balloon in Pool Party ink and the balloon string in Night of Navy ink. The sentiment “Happy Birthday” was stamped on the inside of the balloon using Night of Navy ink. Several pine trees were stamped onto the lower corner of the panel using Pool Party ink. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

To finish up this project, I stamped several of the pine trees in Pool Party ink onto the envelope front and I added a piece of coordinating designer series paper to the envelope flap and trimmed away the excess paper from the flap.

What do you think? Cute…right? If you enjoyed this card and think you’d like to grab the Penguin Place Stamp Set, Penguin Builder Punch and the Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper for yourself, order these items before they are gone as these products will be retiring once the new Mini Catalog comes out. And, beginning tomorrow as part of the Last Chance Products promotion, you can get the Penguin Builder Punch at 60% off! You can read more about this promotion below.

Stampin’ Up! Framed Florets Easel Birthday Card

The Framed Florets Stamp Set, Framed Florets Dies and the Fitting Florets 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper were used to create this pretty birthday card. There is nothing better than an easel card to display gorgeous designer series paper!

A piece of the Evening Evergreen gingham print paper was adhered to the card front. An ornate frame was die cut in Basic White using the Framed Florets Dies. The sentiment “Wishes for a beautiful birthday” from the Framed Florets Stamp Set was stamped in Evening Evergreen ink onto the frame insert. Both the ornate frame and the insert were then adhered to the card front.

A second frame from the Framed Florets Dies was die cut in Polished Pink and this frame was adhered to the front of the white frame. From the Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper, I die cut one of the two-flower images and a multi flower image was fussy cut. These flowers were used to decorate the frame and I used a combination of glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere these around the frame. The card front was then attached to the card base.

The small flower print from the Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper was chosen for the inside of the card. A small strip of the gingham print was added to a white panel and this panel was adhered to the inside of the card.

A second sentiment label was created using a sentiment from the Framed Florets Stamp Set and one of the banner dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies set. A banner was die cut in Basic White and a second banner was cut in Polished Pink which was used as a mat. This sentiment label acts as the easel “stop” and was adhered to the inside of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment label was placed towards the bottom of the card and centered.

On the envelope front, I stamped the two-flower image from the Framed Florets Stamp Set in Polished Pink and used Stampin’ Blends in Petal Pink, Polished Pink and Soft Succulent to color in the image. A piece of coordinating DSP was added to the envelope flap, and I trimmed around the flap to finish off the envelope. Several pink Glossy Dots were added to the card front to complete the card.

The pretty oval frames and paper from the Fitting Florets Collection make for such beautiful cards! I hope you’ll give this one a try!

Stampin’ Up! Campology Masculine Birthday Card with Watercolor Background

Happy Friday! My cards this week have focused on simple stamping, so I thought I’d mix things up a little bit for today. I created a mountain landscape watercolor and added the beautiful pine tree image from the Campology Stamp Set to create today’s card. This makes for a great masculine card!

I started off with a panel of Fluid 100 Watercolor paper and used Starry Sky ink for the mountains and a combination of Early Espresso and Starry Sky for the ground. The pine tree image from the Campology Stamp Set was stamped in Evening Evergreen and I painted in some additional color using Evening Evergreen to darken some areas of the pine trees. A weak mixture of Early Espresso was used to paint in the tree trunks. A sentiment from the Heron Habitat Stamp Set was used on the card front.

An additional sentiment from the Heron Habitat Stamp Set was used on the inside panel and I stamped the pine tree image from the Campology Stamp Set as well before adhering this panel to the inside of the card.

The same pine tree image was stamped onto the envelope front and envelope flap. I used Stampin’ Blends in Soft Succulent and Crumb Cake to add a bit more color to the stamped images.

I love painting watercolor backgrounds and I hope you’ll give this one a try. You’ll find instructions on how to create this card on the linked pdf document. Click on the image below to access the pdf tutorial.

Wishing you an enjoyable weekend! I’ll be back on Monday with another card project. Unit then, stay crafty!

Stampin’ Up! Fitting Florets Birthday Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s Thursday and that means it is time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! I can’t wait to see what my team members have created this week! We have a sketch challenge for the Hop today.

I couldn’t help myself! I pulled out the Framed Florets Bundle and the gorgeous Fitting Florets 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper to create a birthday card for today’s blog hop. Here it is.

I started off with a card base in Night of Navy. A panel from the beautiful Fitting Florets 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper in a Soft Succulent print was added to a mat of Gold Foil and this was added to the card front. The two-flower image from the Framed Florets Stamp Set was stamped onto a piece of Basic White cardstock using Memento ink and colored in with Stampin’ Blends in Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, Soft Succulent and So Saffron. These colors work so well together! The flowers were die cut using the coordinating die from the Framed Florets Dies set.

Several leaves and florets were die cut using Gold Foil and Night of Navy cardstock. These components were arranged around a die cut circle of Evening Evergreen topped with a circle using the Soft Succulent print from the Fitting Florets 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. The circle unit was added to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The die cut flowers were also added to the circle using a combination of Stampin’ Dimensionals and liquid adhesive. While the ovals provided in the Framed Florets Dies set are gorgeous, the die cut flowers and leaves look equally amazing around the circle focal point.

I stamped the sentiment onto a Night of Navy sentiment label using Versamark ink then dusted gold embossing powder over the sentiment and heat set using my heat tool. The sentiment label was matted to a piece of Gold Foil and adhered to the lower portion of the circle unit on the card front.

An additional sentiment was stamped onto the inside panel in Night of Navy ink, and I stamped the multi-leaf image in the upper left and lower right of this panel, also using Night of Navy ink. This same image was stamped onto the envelope front. The inside panel was adhered to a mat in Gold Foil and then adhered to the inside of the card.

To finish off the card I added a piece of coordinating designer series paper to the envelope flap and trimmed around the flap to finish off the envelope.

I hope you like my card for today. I think the gold touches against the Night of Navy, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen really add a touch of elegance!

You can download a pdf tutorial for this card by clicking on the image below. You can find a list of products used to create this card towards the bottom of this post.

On with the hop! If you click on the “Next” button below, you’ll be taken to the top of the Blog list and Amy Koenders blog. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to check out all of the blogs in the Hop today and all of the wonderful creativeness! Thanks for stopping by.

Stampin’ Up! Wisteria Wishes Birthday Card

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has enjoyed a great week!

I used the gorgeous Wisteria Wishes Bundle, Gingham Embossing Folder and sentiments from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set to create this feminine birthday card. The purple shades of Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather go perfectly with touches of Old Olive!

A white panel was embossed using the Gingham Embossing Folder and I used a blending brush to lightly blend Old Olive ink across the surface, concentrating the color in the upper left corner of the panel. This panel was adhered to a mat in Fresh Freesia. A length of Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon was wrapped around the top of the panel and secured to the back.

Two branches were cut using the Wisteria Dies and colored in using Stampin’ Blends in Crumb Cake and Old Olive inks. The branches were then adhered to the embossed panel, over top of the ribbon. I used the large and small detailed wisteria dies to die cut several blooms in Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather. The smaller blooms were adhered to the larger blooms, then the blooms were adhered to their branches on the embossed panel.

The “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set was stamped onto a white sentiment label and the label was adhered to a mat in Highland Heather, then adhered to the card front. A bow was added to the upper left corner of the embossed panel and the panel was adhered to a card base in Highland Heather. A few Iridescent Pearls were also added to the card front.

A sentiment from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set was stamped onto the inside card panel, as well as wisteria blooms and leaves. For the envelope, I used a blending brush to lightly blend Old Olive ink onto the bottom front of the envelope and envelope flap. Additional wisteria blooms and leaves were stamped onto the envelope.

The Wisteria Wishes Bundle makes for such a pretty card. What do you think?

Stampin’ Up! Celebrate With Tags Easy Birthday Card

Use the Celebrate With Tags Stamp Set and Celebrations Tag Dies along with the 2022-2024 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper to create a quick and simple birthday card!

The 2022-2024 In Colors go great together! I started with a card base in Parakeet Party and added a panel in a Sweet Sorbet polka dot pattern to the card front. Several balloons were stamped across the top of a white panel in Parakeet Party, Orchid Oasis and Sweet Sorbet inks, and then a band of Starry Sky DSP was added across the panel.

A sentiment from the Celebrate With Tags Stamp Set was stamped onto a piece of Basic White cardstock and die cut using the label die in the Celebrations Tag Dies set. The sentiment label was matted with a piece of Parakeet Party cardstock and adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A double bow was tied using a Parakeet Party twine from the 2022-2024 In Color Baker’s Twine pack and adhered to the left of the sentiment label.

An additional greeting and two balloons were stamped on the inside panel and the panel was adhered to the inside of the card. Balloons were also stamped on the envelope front and a piece of coordinating designer series paper was added to the envelope flap.

Easy and quick! You can watch a Facebook Live card demonstration on Inky Bee Stamper’s page at 1 pm Eastern today.

Stampin’ Up! Grassy Grove Masculine Birthday Card Using the Torn Paper & Ink Blending Technique

This is a CAS from Frenchie Stamps which I saw on Instagram. Her card was monochromatic, but I chose to use several ink colors on my version of this card. I used a blending brush to ink blend some beautiful Starry Sky ink above torn pieces of copy paper. This masculine card uses little in the way of supplies and works up quickly! I’m not sure of the official name for this technique but I’m calling it the Torn Paper and Ink Blending Technique. The pine trees, deer and ground stamps are from the Grassy Gove Stamp Set. The sentiments on the card are from the Heron Habitat Stamp Set.

I started with a Basic White cardstock panel. I tore a piece of copy paper, imagining mountains and valleys as I tore the paper. The paper was secured temporarily to the top of the white panel and using a blending brush I began blending Starry Sky ink above the torn paper. Before removing this paper mask, I inked up the pine trees image from the Grassy Grove Stamp Set and stamped the trees in Evening Evergreen ink and partially stamped the trees.

I proceeded to create two more mountains from torn paper, then stamping the pine trees on the tops of the mountains. The stamped pine trees gradually get larger as you move down the panel which helps to establish distance between the mountains. I also concentrated the Starry Sky ink just above the torn paper edge, which provides shadows on the mountains.

The inked panel was adhered to an Early Espresso mat and a knot was tied using two pieces of Faux Suede Ribbon. The ends of the ribbon were secured to the back of the Early Espresso panel then the unit was adhered to the card front.

An additional greeting was stamped on the inside panel and matted with Early Espresso cardstock before being adhered to the inside of the card.

The envelope front and envelope flap are decorated with the pine tree image from the Grassy Grove Stamp Set to finish off the card.

I love to ink blend and I was thrilled to give this a try! I love the look! How about you?
