Stampin’ Up! Hello Harvest & Gingham Cottage Friendship Card

Some of my fondest memories as a child were driving vacations that me and my parents took through the New England states in the Fall to view the foliage. My favorite state for seeing all of the glorious colors of Fall was Vermont – all those beautiful red maples…oh, and maple syrup of course! I think that’s why Fall is my favorite season of the year.

Today’s card was created using the Hello Harvest Bundle, Gingham Cottage 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and the Rustic Harvest 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper.

The banner sentiment, pumpkin and flower spray from the Hello Harvest Stamp Set were stamped in Memento ink then colored using a variety of Stampin’ Blends then die cut using the coordinating dies from the Rustic Pumpkin Dies set.

I piece of the Gingham Cottage DSP was matted to a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock then adhered to the card front. I pulled in a strip of the black and white acorn print from the Rustic Harvest DSP and adhered this to the card front. A square was cut from black cardstock using the Stylish Shapes Dies and another piece of the black and white acorn print DSP was adhered to the square. I turned the square on-point (diamond shape) and decorated it with the previously colored pumpkin and flower spray.

The decorated diamond was then adhered over the DSP strip to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment label was adhered to the top of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensional and a linen thread bow, and several Rustic Metallic Dots were added to finish off the card front. You might notice that the right and left of the sentiment banner was also colored in just to give it a different look.

For the inside of the card a strip of the black and white acorn DSP was added to a Very Vanilla panel, then an additional sentiment was stamped onto this panel. The panel was adhered to a Pumpkin Pie mat. The same flower spray was stamped and colored on the envelope front and a piece of coordinating Gingham Cottage DSP adorns the envelope flap.

This completes today’s card. Nothing says Fall like an orange pumpkin and pretty fall flowers! This design would also make a great Fall birthday card!

Stampin’ Up! Cottage Wreaths Easel Friendship Card

Here is a super simple fall-themed easel friendship card for you today! This card was created using only stamps, paper and a few embellishments. This is not my norm, I usually am die cutting something for my cards, but hey, I thought I would switch things up a bit!

If you haven’t purchased the Cottage Wreaths Bundle and the Gingham Cottage 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper yet, what are you waiting for? The Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set includes all the stamps you’ll need for the holidays – Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. The Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper is a huge pack of two-sided paper with one side being a smaller gingham print and the opposite side a larger gingham print.

For this fun fold easel card, I started with a card base in Early Espresso and made the necessary score lines (you’ll find the measurements in the pdf project sheet). I adhered a piece of the Gingham Cottage DSP to a Very Vanilla mat, then adhered this unit to the lower panel of the card front – gluing this panel to the lower panel of the card front only.

The stamped wreath on the card front was created by using different color inks and rotating the wreath stamp for each color and stamping the lightest color first, followed by the next darkest color, and so on. Rotating the wreath allowed the leaves to look layered! I go into specifics on the linked project sheet. Several acorns and berry clusters were also stamped on the wreath. This panel was matted to a piece of Early Espresso cardstock.

Before adhering the stamped wreath panel to the card front, I first used a Stampin’ Blend to color some Linen Thread in Cherry Cobbler. Once dry, the colored thread was wrapped around the top of the card front (Very Vanilla and DSP panel) and adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Seal. I then used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the wreath panel to the center of the card front. A double bow, which was also colored, was adhered to the wreath using a Mini Glue Dot.

A strip of coordinating Gingham Cottage DSP was added to the Very Vanilla inside panel at the bottom and I stamped several sets of leaves on this panel in Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie inks. I then created a simple sentiment label and popped the label up using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment label becomes the stop to hold up the easel portion of the card!

To finish off the card several Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots were added to the wreath and sentiment label. Groups of leaves were stamped on the envelope front and a piece of coordinating DSP was added to the envelope flap.

This card was very quick to make. What do you think? I’m liking the simplicity of this card! I can imagine this exact same card in other color ways – like greens, reds, grays or pinks! This card design would be perfect for a fall birthday or Thanksgiving card too!
