Stampin’ Up! Christmas Lights Holiday Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday! It’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop and I’m looking forward to seeing what my team members have created! This week we have a sketch challenge. I used the Christmas Lights Bundle, Brightest Glow Stamp Set and Wintry 3D Embossing Folders for my card today. Here’s the sketch challenge.

I selected Soft Sea Foam for the card base. I used the Deckled Rectangles Dies to die cut a Basic White panel, then embossed the panel in the snowflake pattern from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders. This panel was then adhered to the card front. Using the outline and detailed Christmas Tree dies, I die cut the tree in Mint Macaron cardstock.

To add a little extra something to the Christmas Tree, I wove some silver Simply Elegant Trim into the tree, using the die cut holes in the areas that look like strings of lights. The trim ends were secured to the back of the card using a small amount of Stampin’ Seal.

Several small stars were die cut from silver foil from the Silver Foil 12″ x 12″ Specialty Pack and the stars were used to decorate the tree along with several Festive Pearls. The Christmas Tree was adhered over the embossed white panel on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A greeting was stamped onto a piece of Basic White cardstock in Mint Macaron ink and die cut using the smallest die from the Deckled Rectangle Dies set. The sentiment label was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and a small amount of glue and slightly overlaps the white embossed panel.

An additional sentiment was stamped onto the inside panel, and I used the small snowflake from the Christmas Lights Stamp Set to stamp snowflakes along the bottom and side of the panel in Soft Sea Foam ink. The panel was matted to a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock and adhered to the inside of the card. The envelope front and envelope flap were finished off by stamping the small snowflake image in Soft Sea Foam ink.

The card was finished off with a double bow tied in silver Simply Elegant Trim and adhered to the left of the sentiment label. I love the combination of the Soft Sea Foam, white and Mint Macaron colors on this card – it gives it a soft, dreamy look.

I hope you enjoyed my card today! If you’d like to recreate this card all of the products used are listed further down the page. Stampin’ Up! Christmas Lights Snowflake Holiday Card

There is nothing more beautiful than freshly fallen snow sparkling and shimmering in the sunlight after a snowstorm!  Today’s card captures all of that beautiful shimmer and sparkle!  I used the Christmas Lights Stamp Set, Twinkling Lights Dies and the Wonderful Snowflakes to create this card.  And lots of Wink of Stella, of course!  The sentiments are from the Sweet Candy Canes Stamp Set.  This simple two-toned card makes an elegant statement. Unfortunately, it is difficult to capture all of the sparkle in a photo but trust me…it’s there and it’s beautiful!

I started by adhering a white cardstock panel to a Night of Navy card base. I then adhered two Wonderful Snowflakes to the card front – one in the upper left corner and one in the lower right corner. The white Wonderful Snowflakes are iridescent and sparkle all on their own!

I used the large snowflake dies from the Twinkling Lights Dies set to die cut a snowflake from white cardstock. Two dies are used together to create the single snowflake on the card front. Once the snowflake was die cut, I used a sponge dauber and Balmy Blue ink to blend ink on the snowflake. I concentrated the ink on the outside edges of the snowflake and softly blended ink towards the center of the snowflake. The entire snowflake was then dusted with Wink of Stella…more shine!

A length of white Glittered Organdy Ribbon was adhered to the card front diagonally using Stampin’ Seal. I then adhered the ink blended snowflake to the center of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A sentiment from the Sweet Candy Canes Stamp Set was stamped onto a 1/2″ strip of white cardstock then matted to a strip of Night of Navy cardstock. The sentiment label was adhered over top of the ink blended snowflake on the center of the card. Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the card front.

For the inside panel, I used the medium sized snowflake stamp from the Christmas Lights Stamp Set, to stamp multiple snowflakes in Balmy Blue ink in the upper left and lower right of the panel. The snowflakes were dusted with Wink of Stella. An additional sentiment was added to the inside panel from the Sweet Candy Canes Stamp Set and also stamped in Balmy Blue ink.

The envelope was finished off with the same medium sized snowflake being stamped in Balmy Blue ink on the envelope front and envelope flap. Of course, Wink of Stella was used to add sparkle!

This completes today’s card. These cards could be produced in multiples quickly and make for a simple but elegant option. The die cut snowflakes would also make great Christmas tree decorations or package decorations!

Stampin’ Up! Christmas Lights Holiday Card

Check out the twinkling stars and lights on this Christmas card! Today’s card was made using the Christmas Lights Bundle and the Brightest Glow Bundle. Both of these bundles can be found in the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. Beautiful images and greetings in these bundles!

I started off by die cutting a Christmas tree from a piece of Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper. This paper is a perfect complement to the Christmas Lights Bundle! The coordinating dies cut (outline and detailed dies) out numerous points of light so of course I die cut a second Christmas tree from Brushed Metallic Gold cardstock – but only the outline of the tree this time – and dropped the gold tree behind the DSP tree so that all of the gold shines through.

Once the Christmas Tree was assembled, I temporarily positioned the tree on the black cardstock to determine placement of stars which were die cut from the black cardstock. Both the Twinkly Lights Dies and the Labels Aglow Dies have stars, so there is a sufficient number to make one pass in your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine…cool!

Once the black cardstock was die cut I adhered this panel to a mat in Brushed Metallic gold cardstock, then adhered this to the card front. The Christmas tree and sentiment label were adhered to the black panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a Satin Edged Ribbon bow to the top of the tree and this completed the card front.

An additional sentiment was stamped on the inside panel as well as the image of the Christmas tree and this panel was matted with a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock then adhered to the inside of the card.

The envelope was decorated with a stamped image of the Christmas tree on the front and coordinating DSP was adhered to the envelope flap.

I had so much fun playing with these bundles! I’m looking forward to creating more Christmas cards using these sets. I had debated on creating a center step fun fold for this card but opted for an easel card instead. A center step fun fold would be perfect to show off this beautiful tree…stay tuned!
