Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia Gatefold Thank You Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It is Thursday once again and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and welcome! I know we will see lots of inspiration in the Hop today so be sure to use the links down below to check out everyone’s projects!

We have a sketch challenge for the Hop today and I used products from the Flowering Zinnias Suite Collection for this fun gatefold card. The products from this suite will be available on March 5 as Online Exclusives in the online store.

Here is the sketch challenge that we are working from…

You will see a lot of gatefold cards with a belly band but it wasn’t necessary for this card since I added a front panel. This panel helps weigh down the front of the card to keep it closed. I started with a card base in Flirty Flamingo measuring 11″ x 4-1/4″ which was scored at 2-3/4″ and 8-1/4″. Two different prints from the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper were added to the left and right panels of this card and these were matted to Petal Pink cardstock. The center panel measures 3-1/8″ x 2-1/8″ and was also matted to a piece of Petal Pink cardstock.

The Simply Zinnia Dies were used to create the center flower on the card. The petals were cut from Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo cardstock, and the flower center was cut from Berry Burst cardstock. The stamens were cut from Lemon Lolly cardstock and the leaves from Old Olive cardstock. Once the flower was assembled it was adhered to the center card panel with the leaves tucked around the flower. A sentiment label was added just below the flower toward the bottom of the center panel.

On the inside panel I stamped an additional sentiment. Don’t you just love the mixed font on this sentiment? The large single flower image from the Simply Zinnia Stamp set was stamped onto the lower corner of the panel, and I used Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo and Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blends to color in the image. The panel was adhered to a Petal Pink mat then adhered to the inside of the card.

Here is a side view of the opened card…

The same large single zinnia image was stamped onto the envelope front and colored in with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I used paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. To finish up the card I added several Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins to the card front.

I think you’ll be excited to see the Flowering Zinnias Suite of products for yourself. The paper and images are just beautiful! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
