Stampin’ Up! Winter Meadow Gatefold Pop Out Christmas Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It is Thursday once again and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! I can’t wait to see what everyone has created for the Hop today!

My card was created using the Winter Meadow 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper along with the Christmas Classics Bundle and the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder.

We have a theme challenge for the Hop today!

This is definitely a card to be put on display and one that you may want to reserve for someone very special in your life! The card is on the heavy side with lots of matted layers, but it still fits nicely into a standard medium sized envelope. All of the measurements and instructions are linked below in the pdf project sheet but here are the highlights…

I selected two patterns from the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper pack – one in a muted Pretty Peacock print and one in a pine tree print. The Pretty Peacock print panels were embossed using the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder. The embossing shows up really well on the designer series paper panels! These panels were then adhered to Pretty Peacock mats and adhered to the outer right and left panels of the card base – both inside and out. The pine tree print panels were also adhered to Pretty Peacock mats and adhered to the center three panels on the inside of the card.

From Basic White cardstock, I used the Christmas Classcis Dies to cut out two square sentiment labels, the square detailed die with foliage, and several holly leaves and leaf sprigs. I used a blending brush to lightly blend Pool Party ink over the foliage on the detailed die cut. The sentiment was stamped onto one of the square sentiment labels in Pretty Peacock ink and I also stamped the pine bough image in Pool Party ink on opposite corners of the label. I then adhered the sentiment label to the detailed die cut. This was then adhered to the narrow center panel on the inside of the card. When the card is opened this beautiful center focal point pops out!

A sentiment was stamped onto the second square sentiment label and this label was used to “bridge” the ends of the belly band together at the center. The die cut holly leaves and leaf sprigs were tucked on either side of the sentiment label and adhered to the belly band.

I opted to add panels to the back of the card, but this step is completely optional. The panels give you a space to write a personal sentiment to the recipient. I cut my three white panels and lined them up side to side and stamped the pine bough image across the panels.

The same pine bough image was stamped onto the corner of the envelope front in Pool Party ink and I added a coordinating piece of designer series paper to the envelope flap.

This completes my card for the Hop! I hope you enjoy the card and will give it a go. Again, thanks so much for stopping by! You can download, save and print the pdf tutorial for this card by clicking on the image below.
