Stampin’ Up! Around the Bend Note Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It is time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! I’m looking forward to seeing the projects in the Hop this week…I know the projects will be inspirational as always! If you are hopping over from Tara’s blog, welcome and thanks for stopping by!

This pretty note card was created using the Around the Bend Stamp Set and the Around the Bend Dies and limited supplies!

We have a sketch challenge for today’s Hop…

To create my card, I started off by cutting two panels using the curved scalloped die from the Around the Bend Dies set. The white panel measured 5-1/2″ x 3″ and the Pebbled Path panel measured 5-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ before die cutting. I was careful to line up the curved border die the same way on each panel and I used pieces of Post It Tape to mark the edges of the die so that the scalloped pattern on the panels would match up once they were die cut.

The bubble image from the Around the Bend Stamp Set was used to stamp bubbles along the scalloped border of the white panel. If you look carefully at the card, it appears as if these bubbles are part of the die cut panel, but they are actually stamped. I adhered the white die cut panel to the Pebbled Path die cut panel – leaving about a 1/4″ of the Pebbled Path scalloped edge showing. This unit was then adhered to the card front and I made sure the left, top and bottom edges lined up with left, top and bottom edges of the card base front.

Using flower and leaf images from the Around the Bend Dies I die cut 3 large flowers from Bubble Bath cardstock, 3 flower centers from Bubble Bath cardstock, 3 small flowers from Bubble Bath cardstock (only two were used on the card), and four leaf sprigs from Basic White cardstock.

The sentiment “hello there” was stamped onto a Basic White sentiment label and then the label was adhered to a Pebbled Path mat. The sentiment label was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and was positioned towards the lower right of the card front and over top of the scalloped border. The die cut Pebbled Path flower centers were adhered to the three large Bubble Bath flowers and these flowers were adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and positioned just to the left of the scalloped borders.

Two of the three smaller flowers were adhered to the card front and the white leaves were tucked in around the large flowers.

For the inside panel I used the bubble stamp to stamp bubbles down the left edge of the panel using Pebbled Path ink. The panel was adhered to a Pebbled Path mat then adhered to the inside of the card.

I used the decorative corner stamp from the Around the Bend Stamp Set and stamped this in Pebbled Path ink onto the lower left corner of the envelope front. Bubbles were stamped along the edge of the envelope flap – also in Pebbled Path ink. To finish off the card and placed several pink sequins to the card front.

I love the versatility of the Around the Bend Stamp Set and Dies and the white, gray and pink together make for a pretty card. I hope you enjoyed my card for the hop today as much as I enjoyed creating it! 1. You’re welcome, Gail! Yes, this design would work for many color combinations! I think it would be especially pretty in Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock and white. I’m fond of the blue/green shades. 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by my blog to leave a comment!
