Stampin’ Up! Dainty Delight Easy Center Step Card with Gold Embossing for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s Thursday and that means that it is time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! I’m looking forward to seeing the projects in the Hop this week…I know the projects will be inspirational as always! Welcome and thanks for stopping by!

My card today was created using the Dainty Delight Stamp Set and Les Shoppes 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. It has been a while since I created a center step fun fold and I thought the center panel of this card fold was perfect to highlight some pretty gold embossing.

As you can probably guess, we have a theme challenge for the hop today…

I started by cutting and scoring the two Petal Pink bases needed for this card. The larger card base measures 8″ x 5-1/2″ and is scored at 3″, 6″, and 7″. The center step base measures 6″ x 3″ and is scored at 4-1/4″.

Focusing on the large card base, I matted two slender pieces of a striped print from the Les Shoppes Designer Series Paper to mats in Cajun Craze. These were then adhered to the left and right sides of the card base front. I also cut two small pieces of the same paper, and matted these to Cajun Craze mats, then adhered these to the left and right of the step portion of the card base.

Using the Dainty Delight Stamp Set, I stamped the medium floral image in VersaMark ink onto a Petal Pink panel measuring 4″ x 2-3/4″. I sprinkled gold embossing powder over the stamped image and used my Heat Tool to set the embossing powder. This panel was then adhered to a Cajun Craze mat and then adhered to the center step base.

While stamping, I stamped the same floral image onto the inside panel and the envelope front in VersaMark ink, sprinkled with gold embossing powder and heat set with my Heat Tool. The sentiment was stamped onto a scrap piece of Cajun Craze cardstock using VersaMark and also embossed in gold. I used the second to smallest banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut out the sentiment.

The center step base was adhered to the larger card base using liquid glue. I first adhered the bottom edge of the center step base to the front step portion of the card base. I folded the card closed and turned the card face down, then adhered the back of the center step base to the larger card base using glue. An additional designer series paper panel was matted to a piece of Cajun Craze and this was adhered to the back of the card. The panel helps hide the point where the two card bases were joined…but also looks pretty!

For the finishing touches, I wrapped a length of Petal Pink ribbon around the step portion of the card and tied a bow. The sentiment label was adhered to the card front, just above the bow, using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap with the excess paper being trimmed away. Lastly, I added three gold Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots to the card front.

I hope you enjoyed my card for the Hop today and thanks so much for stopping by! You can download, save and print a pdf tutorial for this card by clicking on the image below.
