It is Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! I’m excited to see all of the fantastic projects in the Hop today! Following the Color Challenge, here is the card I created for the Hop using the Citrus Blooms Bundle and the lovely Mediterranean Blooms 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper.

Here is our Color Challenge…

I chose to make an Easy Center Step fun fold card. The base of this card measures 8″ x 5-1/2″ and is scored at 3″, 6″ and 7″. The center portion of the card measures 6″ x 3″ and is scored at 4-1/4″. All of the panels of designer series paper on the card were matted in Old Olive and adhered to the base and center step portion of the card, with the exception of the back panel. The center step portion of the card was adhered at the front and rear of the card base using Tear & Tape. The back designer series paper panel was then adhered to the back of the card. This back panel is not only decorative, but it also helps to hide the area where the center portion of the card was attached to the main card base.

Once all of the panels were adhered and the card pieces adhered together, I focused on decorating the front of the card. A sentiment was stamped onto a Daffodil Delight label, then adhered to an Old Olive mat. The sentiment label was then adhered to the center portion of the card in the lower left corner using Stampin’ Dimensionals. From the Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper I fussy cut out the image of the lemon, blossoms and leaves. The image was adhered to the center portion of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the blossom image onto white cardstock several times in Daffodil Delight ink then used the coordinating die from the Citrus Blooms Dies to cut out the images. The blossoms were adhered around the lemon image using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also die cut two leaf sprigs from Old Olive cardstock and these were tucked under the right and left of the lemon image. The large leaf grouping was die cut from Old Olive cardstock and I cut this large die cut in half. Glue was applied to the front of the images along the cut line then adhered to the back side of the center step portion of the card.

For the inside panel I stamped an additional sentiment in Night of Navy ink then stamped the diamond image over top of the sentiment in Daffodil Delight ink. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card using liquid glue.

A linen thread bow was adhered to the card front using a Mini Glue Dot and was placed above the lemon stem. I added a yellow Opal Round to the centers of the three die cut blossoms. The front of the envelope was decorated with the diamond image and blossom image which were stamped in Daffodil Delight ink. I used a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend to dot the centers of the stamped blossoms. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap, and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap using a pair of paper snips.

I had a lot of fun creating this card and I love all of the greenery surrounding the lemon on the card front. If you would like to recreate this card yourself you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
