Stampin’ Up! Painted Lavender Mother’s Day Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It is Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! If you are hopping over from Terry Lynn’s blog or you are arriving here first…welcome! I know we are going to see lots of inspiration today so be sure to hop around and check out all of the blogs! Let’s get started!

This very easy fun fold Mother’s Day card was created using the Painted Lavender Bundle, Perennial Postage Bundle and Perennial Lavender 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. This card can be assembled either in portrait or landscape orientation. My card today is in landscape orientation but I’ll share a portrait card with you later in this blog post.

The theme for today’s blog hop is “spring” and I think spring is well represented on this card with all of the pretty flowers!

The card base for this card measures 7-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and was scored at 3-1/4″, which reveals about an inch of the inside of the card. I selected two different prints from the Perennial Lavender 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. From one of the prints I cut two 5-3/8″ x 7/8″ strips and from the other print I cut one 5-3/8″ x 2-1/8″ piece. Two of the pieces were adhered to the card front with the remaining piece adhered to the bottom edge of the inside of the card.

Using the Painted Lavender Bundle, I prepared three different flower stems and these were adhered to the bottom center edge of the card front angling up towards the left. I applied a small amount of Stampin’ Seal over the bottom of the flower stems then I adhered loops of Linen Thread to the area.

From the Perennial Postage Bundle, I stamped the “Happy Mother’s Day” sentiment in Orchid Oasis ink onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock then used the largest square die from the Perennial Postage Dies to cut out the sentiment. The sentiment was adhered to the card front and the bottom edge of the sentiment slightly hangs over the bottom edge of the card front.

A second sentiment from the Perennial Postage Stamp Set was stamped in Orchid Oasis ink onto the inside panel. I used the two step stamps from the Painted Lavender Stamp Set to stamp multiple flower stems in Fresh Freesia and Orchid Oasis inks along the bottom of the panel. The panel was them adhered to the inside of the card.

The same two step flower stem images were stamped onto the envelope front in Fresh Freesia and Orchid Oasis. I added three Purple Fine Shimmer Gems to the sentiment label on the card front. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I used paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap to finish up the card.

Here is the same card, but in portrait orientation. All of the measurements for card components are the same, the card is simply turned. I love this fold!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Let’s get back to the Hop! You can click on the “Next” button below to go to Nel’s blog or click on any name below to jump directly to that person’s blog. Enjoy!
