Stampin’ Up! Ice Cream Swirl Fun Size Thank You Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It is Thursday once again and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! If you are joining the hop from my page or you hopped over from Terry Lynn’s blog…welcome…I’m happy you are here! I have included links below so you can hop around and see all of the great inspiration today!

I created this “Fun Size” card using the adorable Ice Cream Bundle, Sunny Days 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and the Everyday Details Dies. The Ice Cream Swirl Bundle is perfect for creating cards for many different occasions!

We have a thank you Theme Challenge for today’s hop…

I’m calling this card a “fun size” because, well, it is! The card base measures 8″ x 4-1/4″ and was scored at 4″. This card fits perfectly into a standard A2 envelope. I wanted the top of my ice cream to sit above the top of the card edge…hence the tweaking of the card base measurements.

I started off with a card base in Shaded Spruce. I adhered a piece of the Sunny Days Designer Series Paper in a strawberry print to a Petal Pink mat, then adhered this to the front of the card. Using scraps of white, Petal Pink and Early Espresso I die cut all of the pieces for the ice cream using the Ice Cream Swirl Dies. I also stamped and die cut several strawberries and a cookie straw. Stampin’ Blends in Poppy Parade and Shaded Spruce were used to color in the berries. A diagonal stripe print from the Sunny Days Designer Series Paper was used to die cut the ice cream cup.

I used the smallest rectangular die with the punched border from the Everyday Details Dies to cut out my sentiment label. The “Thanks” sentiment was stamped onto the label in Shaded Spruce ink. The pieces to build the ice cream were adhered together and then the ice cream was adhered to the top of the ice cream cup. This was then adhered to the card front. I used my ruled grid paper to make sure that the height of the card did not exceed 5-1/2″ (in order to fit inside of an envelope). The sentiment label was adhered towards the bottom of the card front. The stamped, colored and die cut strawberries were adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Lastly, I added the chocolate jimmies to the ice cream!

An additional sentiment was stamped onto the inside panel in Shaded Spruce ink and I stamped two strawberries onto the lower corner of the panel and colored them in using Stampin’ Blends. The panel was adhered to a Petal Pink mat, then adhered to the inside of the card.

The strawberry image was again stamped two times onto the envelope front and colored in with Stampin’ Blends. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I used paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. To finish up the card I added a Petal Pink bow just above the left side of the sentiment label.

So my flavor of ice cream is strawberry swirl! What kind of ice cream are you putting in your cup? The Ice Cream Swirl Bundle is just too cute for words…although I’ve tried! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.

I want to thank you for stopping by my blog to have a look! It’s time to get back to the Hop! You can click on the “Next” button below to go to Nel’s blog, or click on any name below to jump directly to that person’s blog. Enjoy and have a great day!
