Stampin’ Up! Beauty of the Deep All Occasion Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s Thursday and that means it is time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! I’m looking forward to seeing the projects that my team members have created for the Hop this week! If you are hopping over from Terry Lynn’s blog…welcome!

I was inspired to create this card after my husband and I spent this past weekend in the lovely seaside town of Cape May, New Jersey. I created this card using the Beauty of the Deep Bundle and some of our new and returning ink colors. These products will be available on May 2…just a few short weeks away!

We have a theme challenge for today’s Hop…Outdoors.

I started with a panel in Basic White and stamped the coral image two times from the Beauty of the Deep Stamp Set in Petal Pink ink. The seaweed image was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink along the left side of the panel several times. The “sand” image was stamped along the bottom of the panel in Pecan Pie ink and lastly, I stamped the sea anemone image multiple times – also across the bottom of the panel. The sea anemones were stamped in Berry Burst ink and first and second generation stamped to provide some dimension.

Once all of the stamping was completed, I used a blending brush to blend Lost Lagoon ink across the entire panel. When blending ink onto the panel I left some areas lighter and darker than others to suggest light and shadow in the water.

Using Tuxedo Black Memento ink I stamped three of the angel fish onto Basic White cardstock along with the sentiment “hello” from the Tropical Leaf Stamp Set. I used a Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blend to color in the white areas of the stamped fish then used the coordinating die from the Beauty of the Deep Dies set to cut out the images. I also die cut one sea bush from Lost Lagoon cardstock. The sea bush…I’m not sure what else to call it…was adhered to the card front on the left. The fish were adhered just above the bush using Mini Glue Dots.

I adhered a short length of Pool Party Grosgrain Ribbon to the upper right of the ink blended panel using a few Mini Glue Dots. The sentiment label was cut out using the 2nd to smallest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies set, then the label was adhered over the ribbon using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside panel, the coral image was stamped in Petal Pink ink and several sea anemones were stamped in Berry Burst ink. I again lightly blended Lost Lagoon ink across the stamped images and the bottom of the panel. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

The same coral and sea anemone images were stamped onto the envelope front and Lost Lagoon ink blended over the images. On the envelope flap I stamped the large lacy image using Pretty Peacock ink. Several Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls were adhered to the lower edge of the card front to complete the card.
