Stampin’ Up! Lily Pond Lane Note Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome back to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! Thanks so much for stopping by! I know we will see lots of inspiration today so be sure to use the links below to Hop around!

My card was created using the lovely Lily Pond Lane 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and the Charming Duck Pond Bundle. We have a sketch challenge for today’s Hop and this is my take of the sketch.

I chose a floral print from the Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper in Pretty Peacock, Peach Pie and Pretty in Pink and adhered a panel to a Pretty Peacock mat, then adhered this to the card front. I created a second smaller panel using a Pretty Peacock dotted print and another Pretty Peacock mat and adhered this smaller panel to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. This smaller panel was placed at the top of the card front and centered from left to right. A third print from the Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper was used for the sentiment label. The sentiment was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink and then the label was matted to a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock then adhered to the card front using a combination of Stampin’ Dimensionals and liquid glue.

Using scraps of Pretty Peacock, Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie and Granny Apple Green cardstock, I used the Charming Duck Pond Dies to cut out cattails, lily pads and lily flowers. The cattail heads were colored in using a Pebbled Path Stampin’ Blend and then the cattails were adhered to the right of the sentiment label using liquid glue. A single lily pad was adhered at the base of the cattails and the two lilly pads and flowers were adhered in front of the cattails using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The Charming Duck Pond Stamp Set was used to stamp the cattails on either side of the inside panel and lily pads were stamped at the base of the cattails. The panel was adhered to a Pretty Peacock mat, then adhered to the inside of the card.

I repeated stamping of the cattails and lily pads on the envelope front. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap, and I used a pair of paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. A small Flirty Flamingo Baker’s Twine bow was adhered just to the lower right of the sentiment label on the card front. I added three Pretty in Pink Dappled Dots to the card front to finish up the project.

I can’t decide if I’m more in love with the Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper or the Charing Duck Pond Stamp Set and Dies! When I initially saw this suite in the catalog, I thought it was cute but was unsure whether or not I wanted to purchase it. Boy, am I glad I ordered it! I already have another card idea using this suite! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
