I had the opportunity to participate in the Creativity Now event that Stampin’ Up! hosted for demonstrators this past weekend and we got to have a play with an upcoming suite of products from the September-December 2024 Mini Catalog…so this is an extra early sneak peek for you of what is coming! One of the projects I created during the event used the Winterly Tree Tops Bundle. I also used some of the Nests of Winter 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper, Earth Tones Shimmer Gems and Natural Tones Linen Thread on my project. How lovely are these pretty birds?!
The Winterly Tree Tops Dies contains a pretty pine frame. I cut out this frame from a panel of Mossy Meadow cardstock. This project calls for using the “negative” of the die cut, so I tucked the die cut frame away for use on a future project. I centered the negative of the die cut frame over a panel of Basic White cardstock. A Blending Brush was used to blend Mossy Meadow ink around the negative. The negative was removed and rotated 180 degrees and then I blended Mossy Meadow around the negative again. I removed the negative and blended a bit more of the Mossy Meadow ink around the edges of the panel to darken them a bit more. The panel was adhered to a Real Red mat, then adhered to the front of a Granny Apple Green card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of white cardstock, I stamped the image of the birds from the Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I used Real Red, Ivory, Bronze, and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends to color in the image. The coordinating dies from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies was used to cut out the image. The image was then adhered to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock in Mossy Meadow ink, and I used the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch to punch out the sentiment. I blended Mossy Meadow ink around the edges of the sentiment and then it was adhered to the card front, just below the birds, using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the bottom of the inside panel, I stamped the swag image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink then used Real Red, Granny Apple Green and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends to color in the image. The panel was adhered to a Real Red Mat, then adhered to the inside of the card.

I partially stamped the swag onto the envelope front and colored in the image with the same Stampin’ Blend colors. I selected a stripe print from the Nests of Winter 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper pack and added a panel to the envelope flap. The excess paper was cut away from the flap using a pair of paper snips. A length of Natural Tones Linen Thread was cut, and I separated the strands then tied a bow. The bow was adhered to the card front using a Mini Glue Dot. Three white Earth Tones Shimmer Gems were added to the card front as well to complete the project.

Using the negative of the die cut frame creates such a beautiful ink blended border around the front panel of the card and I love the “glow” that the white cardstock provides in the center…as if bright sunlight was shining through the pine trees. Just lovely! I hope you enjoyed this extra early sneak peek of products coming in the September-December 2024 Mini Catalog. September will be here before you know it! Here are two more cards I created during the Creativity Now event I thought I would share with you.
