Inky Bee Stampers

This fun birthday card was created using the adorable Friendly Fins Bundle which includes a stamp set and dies. This card is perfect for children of all ages as well as anyone who loves the ocean! The stamped images and die images create a magical underwater scene!

I started off with a panel of Blueberry Bushel cardstock that measures 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″. I used the stylus attachment on my Take Your Pick Tool to emboss wavy horizontal lines across the panel to mimic water movement. I then used the two-step stamps from the Friendly Fins Stamp Set to stamp a dolphin and two sets of fish. The coordinating dies from the Friendly Fins Dies were used to cut out the images.

I also used the dies to cut out the reef from Calypso Coral cardstock and two pieces of coral from Peach Pie cardstock. I used a Sponge Dauber to darken the edges of these die cuts using Calypso Coral ink to give them a little bit of depth. I also die cut several pieces of seaweed from Old Olive and Mossy Meadow cardstock. The reef was first adhered to the panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals and I arranged and adhered the remaining pieces to the panel using liquid glue. The dolphin and one group of the fish were adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The panel was adhered to a Pool Party mat then the sentiment label was adhered to the upper left corner of the panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The panel was then adhered to the card front.

On the inside panel I stamped the “Happy Birthday” sentiment if Blueberry Bushel in. The small coral reef image was stamped onto the lower corner of the panel in Calypso Coral ink. I used the light and dark shades of Peach Pie Stampin’ Blends to color in the image. I used the two step stamps to stamp two groups of fish around the coral using Blueberry Bushel and Daffodil Delight inks. The panel was adhered to a Pool Party mat then adhered to the inside of the card.

I repeated stamping and coloring of the reef and fish on the envelope front. A single group of fish were stamped onto the envelope flap. Multiple Pool Party Rainbow Dots were added to the card front to mimic bubbles rising. I then painted Wink of Stella over the reef and coral on the card front and dotted Wink of Stella around the bubbles (Dots). The coral on the inside of the card and envelope were also dusted with Wink of Stella to provide some shimmer.
