It is time for another Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop! If you are hopping over from Terry Lynn’s blog, welcome! If you are starting off with my blog I know we will see lots of inspiration from the team today so let’s get started!
The theme this month is “celebrate summer” and we can interpret that any way that we would like. I created this book fold card using the Beach Day Stamp Set, Beach Day Dies and the 2024-2026 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Nothing celebrates summer like a day at the beach! Can’t you just feel the cool ocean breeze?!

I started out with a card base in Crumb Cake that measures 11″ x 4-1/4″ that is scored at 4-1/4″ and 5-1/2″. To create the “binding” of this book fold, I applied liquid glue on the inside of the card between the two score lines, then closed the card base onto the glued section. I chose two Shy Shamrock prints from the 2024-2026 In Color Designer Series Paper pack – one in a stripe and one in a floral pattern and cut panels for the card front. These panels were matted to Shaded Spruce cardstock, then adhered to the card front. Shy Shamrock and Shaded Spruce coordinate really well together!

Using the Stylish Shapes Dies I die cut a large square and a smaller square from white cardstock. The larger square was used to build the scene on the card front. I used Blending Brushes to blend Crumb Cake ink along the bottom third of the square and a separate Blending Brush to lightly blend Night of Navy ink along the upper two thirds of the square. The Beach Day Dies were used to cut out all of the scene components including palm tree fronds, a tree trunk, grass, beach ball, beach chair and an umbrella. Stampin’ Blends in Summer Splash and Shy Shamrock were used to color in the umbrella and chair and Stampin’ Blends in Blueberry Bushel, Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight were used to color in the ball. The die cut pieces were arranged onto the ink blended square then the square was adhered to the square portion of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped onto the smaller die cut square in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then adhered towards the lower right corner of the larger square using a combination of Stampin’ Dimensionals and liquid glue.
An additional sentiment was stamped onto the inside of the card in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. The umbrella image was stamped onto the lower corner of the panel and two seagulls were stamped around the sentiment. The umbrella was colored in using Shy Shamrock and Summer Splash Stampin’ Blends. Without reinking my Blending Brushes, I blended Crumb Cake ink across the bottom of the panel and Night of Navy across the rest of the panel. The panel was adhered to a Shaded Spruce mat, then adhered to the inside of the card.

I repeated stamping of the umbrella and seagull onto the envelope front and colored in the umbrella using Shy Shamrock and Summer Splash Stampin’ Blends. Crumb Cake and Night of Navy inks were lightly blended across the images. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap with the excess paper trimmed away from the flap using a pair of paper snips. Three Shy Shamrock Shimmer Gems were adhered to the card front to finish up the card.

Another great card using sets I do not have. Hmmm. May have to remedy that! Especially now that there is a 10% discount! 🙂

Thanks so much, Julie! The Beach Day Stamp Set and Beach Day Dies are no longer bundled so they would not qualify for the 10% discount. They are still great sets to own, though!

WEll, darn! I really wasn’t interested in the set, so didn’t pay attention to them dropping it as a bundle. Oh, well, win some, lose some.
