Stampin’ Up! In the Grove Birthday Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It is Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! Thanks so much for stopping by! I know we are going to see some great inspiration today so let’s get started.

Here is the card I created for the Hop today using the pretty In the Grove Bundle. I’m a big nature enthusiast so this challenge is perfect!

Here is the challenge….

Using the In the Grove Dies, I started off by die cutting the large tree frame from a white cardstock panel measuring 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8. On a separate panel measuring 5-1/4″ x 4″ I stamped the mountain range in Gorgeous Grape ink at about the center of the panel. I then used a Blending Brush to blend Night of Navy ink for my sky. A separate Blending Brush was used to blend Wild Wheat ink below the mountain range, then I used the large grass stamp to stamp the foreground in using Mossy Meadow ink. The smaller grass stamp was used to fill in around the large grass image.

The tree frame was then adhered to the stamped and ink blended panel, then this unit was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I borrowed a sentiment from the Country Birdhouse Stamp Set for the sentiment label and this was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink. I also stamped the pine tree image from the In the Grove Stamp Set onto a scrap piece of white cardstock. The coordinating die from the In the Grove Dies was used to cut out the image. I adhered the right edge of the die cut pine tree image to the left edge of the sentiment label, then adhered this unit to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the In the Grove Dies, I die cut the mountain range image from a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock measuring 5-1/2″ x 1″. Paper snips were used to separate this die cut image from the strip of card stock and I then adhered this to the bottom of the inside panel. Any overlapping ends of the mountain range were trimmed away from the panel using a pair of paper snips. I again borrowed a sentiment from the Country Birdhouse Stamp Set and stamped the sentiment on the panel. I used a Blending Brush to add some Night of Navy ink to the panel to represent the sky. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

For the envelope front, I stamped the pine tree image again, then used Blending Brushes to blend Wild Wheat ink at the base of the trees and Night of Navy ink above the tree tops. The stamping of the trees was repeated on the envelope flap but this time I only partially stamped the trees and added the sky in with a Blending Brush. A small Linen Thread bow was added to the card front along with a single silver Metallic Gem.

The In the Grove Bundle makes for some beautiful nature-themed cards! The bundle also coordinates really well with the Grassy Grove Stamp Set and Grassy Grove Dies which just carried over into the new 2024-2025 Annual Catalog. If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
