It is time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! If you are stopping over from Terry Lynn’s blog or you are starting off with my blog…welcome! We have a sketch challenge for today’s Hop and here is the card I created for the challenge using products from the Lily Pond Lane Suite Collection.

Here is the sketch challenge…

To get started, I selected a Pretty Peacock dotted print from the Lily Pond Designer Series Paper pack and adhered a panel of this to the front of a Peach Pie card base. I cut a second print from the same designer series paper pack – this one in Gray Granite – to 5″ x 2″. A banner was cut on each side of this panel and I then adhered the panel to the card front. Using the Deckled Circles Dies, I die cut a circle from Basic White cardstock (using the 5th from the smallest die) and I masked off half the circle and used a Blending Brush to blend Pretty Peacock ink over the circle.

I used the Charming Duck Pond Dies to cut out the images of the ducks, cattails, lily pads and lily flowers. These pieces were then arranged and adhered to the die cut circle. The mama and baby duck were adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The circle was then adhered to the upper center of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of white cardstock and adhered the sentiment label to a Peach Pie mat. This was then adhered just below the circle unit to the right of the card front.
On the inside panel, I stamped an additional sentiment, then used the two-step stamps from the Charming Duck Pond Stamp Set to stamp the cattails onto the lower corner in Granny Apple Green and Pebbled Path inks. I also stamped the frog and lily pad image to the right of the cattails and used Stampin’ Blends to color in the image. I lightly blended Pretty Peacock ink at the base of the stamped images to give the appearance of water. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card base.

I repeated stamping of the cattails onto the envelope front and lightly blended Pretty Peacock ink over the base of the stamped image. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I used my paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. I used a Peach Pie Stampin’ Blend to color in a short length of white Baker’s Twine and tied this into a small bow. The bow was attached just above the sentiment label on the card front using a Mini Glue Dot. Several Gray Granite Dappled Dots were adhered to the card front to finish up the project!

I had an absolute blast playing with the Charming Duck Pond Bundle and I’m looking forward to creating more cards with this set! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
