Inky Bee Stampers

Here is another sneak peek of products that will be available on May 1 from the beautiful Thoughtful Journey Suite Collection! The Thoughtful Journey 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper is stunning and what better way to show it off than a Double Z Fold card!

The Double Z Fold card consists of two card bases. I like to refer to them as the rear card base and the front card base. The rear card base measures 11″ x 4-1/4″ and is scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″. The front card base measures 10-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ and is scored at 4-1/2″ and 7-1/2″.

Before assembling these two card bases together to form the “Double Z”, I adhered a Lost Lagoon solid print designer series paper to the panels of the rear card base. Pretty thistle print panels from the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper were adhered to Wild Wheat mats, then these were adhered to the left and center panels of the front card base. The card bases were then adhered to each other by applying liquid glue to a portion of the left panel and the back of the right panel of the front card base.

The Thoughtful Wishes Dies were used to cut out two flower and stem sprigs from Basic White cardstock. These die cut images were colored in with Fresh Freesia and Old Olive Stampin’ Write markers. I also cut out the detailed twig image from Wild Wheat cardstock. The sentiment on the card front was stamped in VersaMark ink onto a scrap piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock then sprinkled with white embossing powder. A Heat Tool was used to set the embossing powder. I used one of the circle dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies set to cut out the label.

The die cut flowers were arranged onto the card front and adhered down with liquid glue. Before adhering the sentiment label to the card front, I first tied a loose Linen Thread bow and adhered the bow to the base of the flowers using a small amount of Stampin’ Seal. The sentiment label was then adhered to the card front using a double stack of Stampin’ Dimensionals.

An additional sentiment was stamped onto the inside panel in Pretty Peacock ink. The thistle stamp from the Thoughtful Wishes Stamp Set was colored in using Fresh Freesia and Old Olive Stampin’ Write markers. I then huffed on the colored stamp then stamped the image onto the lower left of the inside panel. This is a great technique for creating a multi-color stamped image! The panel was adhered to a Wild Wheat mat, then adhered to the inside of the card.

I repeated coloring of the thistle stamp using Stampin’ Write markers and stamped this image again onto the envelope front. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I used a pair of paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. Three Adhesive-Backed Pearls were added to the card front to complete the card!
