Stampin’ Up! Sneak Peek – Layers of Beauty Grateful for You Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It is Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! If you are hopping over from Terry Lynn’s blog, or you started here on my blog…Welcome! I’m looking forward to seeing all of the inspiration today. Be sure to use the links below to Hop around to check out the projects for yourself!

My card for the hop today was created using the Layers of Beauty Bundle which includes a stamp set, dies and masks! The Layers of Beauty Bundle will be available on May 1 for customers and is featured in the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog.

We have a sketch challenge for the Hop today. I had so much fun creating this card for the sketch!

I started off by using the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder to emboss a white panel measuring 5-1/4″ x 4″. I used the Layers of Beauty Decorative Masks to complete two white panels. Pretty in Pink ink (one of the new In Colors) was blended over the flower masks and Granny Apple Green ink was blended over the leaf masks. Once the blending was complete, I used the large die to cut out the images on the two panels.

The die cut floral images were placed diagonally over the upper left and lower right corners of the embossed panel. I held the panels in place onto the embossed panel using Post It Tape and turned the unit over to the back side and marked the corners of the embossed panel onto the die cut pieces. I removed the Post It Tape and applied glue along the pencil marks and adhered the die cuts to the embossed panel. I used a pair of paper snips to carefully trim along the edges of the embossed panel, making sure that one of the trimmed die cut edges was longer than the other. Several die cut leaves in Granny Apple Green were tucked under the large die cut floral pieces.

The “Grateful for You” sentiment was stamped onto a white sentiment label in Granny Apple Green ink. The sentiment label was adhered to a Granny Apple Green mat, then adhered to the lower right corner of the card front. I saved the trimmings from the two die cut pieces. These will be repurposed for the inside of the card.

The two longest “trimmings” from the ink blended and die cut panels from the card front were placed on the right and left of the inside panel. I then stamped the “you make my heart smile” sentiment in Granny Apple Green ink between the two decorative pieces. I then adhered the trimmed floral pieces to the right and left sides of the panel. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card. The left over trimmings create a beautiful frame for the inside of the card!

Here is a closer look. I purposely glued only the edges of the trimmings so that the cut out floral sections would lift slightly, which provides a little dimension! Any floral pieces extending past the top or bottom edge of the panel were trimmed flush to the panel edges.

A white Baker’s Twine bow was adhered to the upper right corner of the sentiment label on the card front. and I added several2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems were added for a little sparkle. I used the two small floral stamps from the Layers of Beauty Stamp Set and stamped these in Granny Apple Green ink onto the envelope front and envelope flap. The images were colored in with a Pretty In Pink and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.

I hope you enjoyed my card today…I so love the soft look! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
