Stampin’ Up! Flight & Airy Thinking of You Fun Fold Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Thanks for stopping by and welcome! It is Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. I think we’re going to see some special cards in the Hop today so be sure to use the links below to hop around and check out all of the projects!

This sweet little fun fold card was created using the Thoughtful Expressions Bundle and the Flight & Airy 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. This is my take on our Sketch Challenge for today’s Hop.

For this fun fold card I created two card bases. The first, larger card base is a standard base measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and is scored at 4-1/4″. I added a small floral print from the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper pack to the front of this Misty Moonlight card base. I then added a blue designer series paper strip measuring 4-1/2″ x 1-3/4″ to the card front. This strip sits slightly to the left of the card front and was centered from top to bottom.

The second card base measures 6-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ and is scored at 3-1/4″ to create a square when folded. I do not have a corner punch to create the decorative corners shown in the sketch…so I improvised! On the small card base I measured a 1/4″ on each side of each corner and made a small pencil mark, then I used my 2″ Circle Punch to punch each corner to create the decorative corners. A sentiment was stamped onto this small card base in Misty Moonlight ink and the large floral image from the Thoughtful Expressions Stamp Set was third generation stamped onto the lower left corner. I used Watercolor Pencils in Blue, Garden Green and Daffodil Delight to color in the image. A small damp watercolor brush was used to activate the color and blend it out. Using the Thoughtful Expressions Dies, I die cut two sets of leaves from Garden Green cardstock and three small flowers from Misty Moonlight cardstock. These were placed on the front of the small card base for some added dimension.

A second sentiment was stamped on the inside of the small card base in Misty Moonlight ink and one of the smaller floral images was third generation stamped over top of the sentiment. The small card base was then adhered to a Misty Moonlight mat, then adhered to the larger card front.

On the larger inside panel, I stamped another sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink, then third generation stamped the large floral image onto the lower left corner of the panel in Misty Moonlight. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

I repeated third generation stamping of the large floral image on the envelope front. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I used my paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. The dark shade of a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend was used to color three small rhinestones and these rhinestones were placed at the centers of the small die cut flowers to complete the card.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I hope you enjoyed the card I made for you! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
