Stampin’ Up! Softly Sophisticated Thank You Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Thanks for stopping by and welcome! It is Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. I think we’re going to see some special cards in the Hop today so be sure to use the links below to hop around and check out all of the projects!

For today’s card I used the Softly Sophisticated Stamp Set along with the Everyday Details Dies and Bee Mine 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. I adore the small, delicate flower images in the Softly Sophisticated Stamp Set and the Everyday Details Dies are a must have!

We have a color challenge for today’s Hop, and I used Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight, Sweet Sorbet and Basic Black on my card for the challenge.

I started off with a Daffodil Delight plaid print panel from the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper measuring 5″ x 3-3/4″ and adhered this to a Basic Black mat measuring 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″. Using the largest rectangular die from the Everyday Details Dies set, I cut two rectangles – one from a Sweet Sorbet print and one from white cardstock. Check out the fun edge detail on the rectangles! And this large rectangular die in this set will cut either a rectangle or a frame!

The Sweet Sorbet rectangle was adhered to the Daffodil Delight plaid panel using liquid glue and was positioned onto the lower left of the panel. On the white rectangle I stamped the sentiment from the Softly Sophisticated Stamp Set in Sweet Sorbet ink towards the top of the rectangle.  The font on the sentiments in this stamp set are beautiful! I then used the two-step stamps to first stamp the leaf stem in Lemon Lime Twist ink, then stamping the flowers in Daffodil Delight ink. I then used the dark shade of a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend to darken a portion of the flower centers. The stamped panel was then adhered to the Daffodil Delight plaid panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals and was positioned toward the top right of the panel. The larger panel was then adhered to a Lemon Lime Twist card base.

On the inside panel I again used the two-step stamps to stamp the leaf stem and flowers on both the upper right and lower left corners of the panel in Lemon Lime Twist and Daffodil Delight. An additional sentiment was stamped in Sweet Sorbet ink and the panel was adhered to a black mat and then adhered to the inside of the card.

The same leaf stem and flowers were stamped again onto the envelope front. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I used my paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. I tied a Lemon Lime Twist bow and adhered the bow to the card front at the base of the leaf stem using a Mini Glue Dot. Several Daffodil Delight hearts from the Adhesive-Backed Hearts & Flowers embellishment pack were also adhered to the card front.

I love the bright spring-like colors on this card and the petite flowers from the Softly Sophisticated Stamp Set are precious! The pretty rectangles from the Everyday Details Dies are the icing on the cake on this card! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
