Stampin’ Up! Delightfully Eclectic Off-set Gate Fold Thank You Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s Thursday and that means that it is time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! I’m looking forward to seeing the projects in the Hop this week…I know the projects will be inspirational as always! If you are hopping over from Terry Lynn’s blog…welcome and thanks for stopping by!

My card today was created using the Delightfully Eclectic 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and the Timeless Arrangements Bundle. I’m calling this card an Off-set Gate Fold card since I adjusted the width of the gates so that one is wider than the other.

We have a sketch challenge for today’s Hop and here it is…

I started off by preparing a card base in Basic Black measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ Following the sketch challenge for today I shifted the left “gate” of the Gate Fold to the right. To accomplish this, I scored the long edge of the card base at 1-3/4″ and 6″.

I used the pretty black, white and Fresh Freesia floral print from the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper pack to cut panels for the left and right “gates” for both the outside and inside of the card. The left gate panels measure 5-3/8″ x 1-5/8″ and the right gate panels measure 5-3/8″ x 2-3/8″. I then adhered a vellum panel mesasuring 5-3/8″ x 2″ to the right gate so that the left edge of the panel was flush with the left edge of the gate.

Next, I created a hexagon for the center of the card front. I started with a Basic Black cardstock panel measuring 5″ x 2-1/2″. On the short ends of the panel I marked the center point at 1-1/4″. Then I measured 1-1/2″ down and up along both long edges. I then cut each corner of the panel off using my paper trimmer by lining up the first 1-1/2″ mark with the 1-1/4″ center point. I repeated this step for the remaining three corners.

I adhered a black and white print piece of Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper to the front of the hexagon shape and used paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the hexagon. Closing the gates on the card front, I adhered the hexagon to the card front making sure to center it from left to right and top to bottom. I was also careful to apply glue to only the portion of the hexagon that would come in contact with the right gate.

Using the Timeless Arrangements Dies I cut out some berry shapes from Fresh Freesia cardstock and a small leaf set and flowers from vellum. I used the medium size sentiment label die from this set to cut out a label from Basic White cardstock. The sentiment was stamped onto the label using Fresh Freesia ink and I adhered the berries, leaves and flowers to the back of the label. The label was then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and positioned on the upper right of the card.

The large and small berry images from the Timeless Arrangements Stamp Set were used to stamp the inside panel. I stamped the long image in Fresh Freesia ink in both the lower right and upper left corners of the panel. I then stamped the smaller berry image in these same corners using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card. The DSP panels on the inside of the card really add a lot!

The same berry images were stamped onto the envelope front in Fresh Freesia and Tuxedo Black Memento ink and I adhered a coordinating piece of designer series paper to the envelope flap and trimmed the excess paper away from the flap. Several black Classic Matte Dots were added to the upper right of the card front to finish off the card.

I have used up so much of my paper from the Delightfully Eclectic paper pack! The prints are both beautiful and fun! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
