Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Daydream Easter Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop and I’m excited to see what my team members have created for the Hop this week!

I used the Daffodil Daydream Stamp Set, Daffodil Dies, Elegant Borders Dies and one of the embossing folders from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders set along with some pretty paper from the Country Floral Lane 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper pack.

We have a “Spring” theme challenge for the Hop today!

From a Basic White panel measuring 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ I positioned the scrolling die from the Elegant Borders Dies along the long right edge of the panel and die cut. I pulled out the cross-hatch embossing folder from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders set and then embossed the die cut panel. The panel was then adhered to the front of the Balmy Blue card base.

I stamped the larger daffodil image and stamped the butterfly image twice onto a piece of white cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I used So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends to color in the daffodils and their stems and Starry Sky and Balmy Blue Stampin Blends to color the butterflies. I used the coordinating dies from the Daffodil Dies set to cut out the images.

Using the second to largest circle from the Layering Circles Dies I cut out a circle from a Balmy Blue and white striped print from the Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper. The die cut daffodils were adhered to this circle using glue, then the circle was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped onto a coordinating piece of designer series paper in Starry Sky ink with the sentiment stamped slightly to the right. One of the die cut butterflies was adhered to the left side of the sentiment label and the label was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The second butterfly was adhered just above the circle to the right.

On the inside panel I stamped the smaller daffodil image and colored in the image as I did for the daffodils on the card front. A single butterfly was stamped just above the daffodil and colored in. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

The small butterfly was stamped onto the lower corner of the envelope front and I added a piece of coordinating designer series paper to the envelope flap and trimmed away the excess paper from the flap. A double white twine bow was added to the stems of the daffodils on the card front. To finish off the card I used Wink of Stella to add a little sparkle to the butterflies.
