Stampin’ Up! Sneak Peek – Splendid Autumn Z Fold Encouragement Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday! It is time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the Hop today! If you are hopping over from Terry Lynn’s blog or you are starting with my blog…welcome! Let’s get started…

I created this pretty Z Fold card using the Splendid Autumn 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, the Autumn Expressions Stamp Set and the Cheerful Daisies Dies.

We have a color challenge for the Hop today. On my card I used Wild Wheat, Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler and there is a little Early Espresso and Moody Mauve showing on the designer series paper.

I started off with a Mossy Meadow card base measuring 11″ x 4-1/4″. The cardstock was scored along the long side at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″. I selected the daisy print from the Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper pack and cut two panels measuring 4″ x 2-1/2″. These panels were matted to Wild Wheat and then adhered to the far-left and far-right sections of the card base. A second Wild Wheat print panel measuring 4-1/8″ x 2-5/8″ was adhered to the second section of the card base.

I wanted the top layer of the daisies on the card front to look slightly distressed. I swiped my Wild Wheat ink pad across a piece of white cardstock then dropped some water onto the panel. I used a paper towel to soak up the water droplets and allowed the panel to fully dry before die cutting the small and large daisies using the Cheerful Daisies Dies. I cut two additional daisy pieces from Wild Wheat cardstock and two leaf sprigs from Mossy Meadow cardstock. A Cherry Cobbler flower center was die cut for the largest daisy.

On the inside panel I stamped the “Dear friend” and “You’ve got this” sentiments in Mossy Meadow ink. The wheat image from the Autumn Expressions Stamp Set was first and second generation stamped onto the lower corner in Wild Wheat ink. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

The assembled daisies were added to the card front using liquid glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals and the leaf sprigs were tucked around the larger daisy.

The wheat image was stamped onto the envelope front in Wild Wheat. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap, and I used my paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. Three Faux Glass Dots were added to the card front to finish up the project.

You have to see the Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper in person to really appreciate the beauty of this paper! Products from the Splendid Autumn Suite Collection will be available on September 4 for customer purchase. To recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
