It’s Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! If you are hopping over from Terry Lynn’s blog or you are starting off with my blog…welcome and thanks for stopping by! We have an extra special theme challenge for today so be sure to use the links below to hop around to check out everyone’s creations!
This clean and elegant card was created using the Decorative Trees Bundle, Painted Trees 3D Embossing Folder and the Season of Elegance 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper.

We have a Christmas theme challenge for today…

I started with a Cherry Cobbler card base measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ which was scored at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4″ to form an accordion fold. The Painted Trees 3D Embossing Folder was used to emboss a 5-3/8″ x 4″ white cardstock panel. The panel was positioned inside of the embossing folder so that the two largest trees would be embossed onto the white panel. The panel was then cut lengthwise at 2″ to form two 5-3/8″ x 2″ panels. The first panel was adhered to the 2-1/8″ section of the card front and the second was adhered to the right side of the inside of the card base. When the card base is fully closed these panels are side by side.

A Cherry Cobbler square measuring 2-5/8″ was adhered to a 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Gold Foil. The square was turned to a diamond shape then the left side of the diamond was adhered to the center of the 2-1/8 section of the card base.
The Decorative Trees Dies were used to die cut a white tree outline and the detailed scroll image was die cut from Gold Foil. The detailed scroll image was then adhered to the tree outline, and I used a pair of paper snips to trim along the bottom of the tree since the scroll tree detail is shorter than the tree outline. The tree was then adhered to the center of the diamond on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

From the Decorative Trees Stamp Set, I partially inked up the “A very merry Christmas” sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink and stamped just the “merry Christmas” portion of the sentiment onto the top of the inside panel. The tree outline image was partially stamped onto the lower left of the panel in Cherry Cobbler ink. I then stamped the small leaf detail image inside of the tree outline using Wild Wheat ink. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

I repeated stamping of the tree outline on the envelope front and filled the tree image with the small leaf detail in Wild Wheat. A small bow was tied from Cherry Cobbler & Gold Satin Ribbon and the bow was added to the top of the tree on the card front using a Mini Glue Dot. A piece of Cherry Cobbler and gold Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper was added to the envelope flap and I used a pair of paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap.

Sometimes less is more and this is the case with this card. This clean card design really allows all of the texture and gold accents to shine! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
