Where did the week go? It’s Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! If you are hopping over from Terry Lynn’s blog or you are starting with my blog…welcome and thanks for stopping by! We have a fun sketch challenge this week and I know we’re going to see lots of inspiration so be sure to use the links below to hop around.
I pulled out a couple of bundles and several beautiful specialty designer series papers for today’s card. Specifically, I used the Peaceful Evergreen Bundle, Peaceful Season Bundle, Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper, Gold Mercury Vellum Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Regal Distressed Patterns Specialty Designer Series Paper. I couldn’t help myself!

And here is the sketch challenge for today’s Hop…

I started off with a Basic Beige card base measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″. I adhered a 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ piece of the Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper in Basic Beige and gold to the front of the card base using liquid glue. A length of Pretty Peacock & Gold Metallic Ribbon was wrapped horizontally around the card front with the ribbon ends secured to the front of the card. The Stylish Shapes Dies were used to cut two squares – a larger square from Pretty Peacock cardstock and a small square from Basic Beige cardstock. From the Peaceful Season Dies, I die cut the decorative square sentiment label from Basic Beige cardstock and stamped a sentiment from the Peaceful Season Stamp Set onto the label in Pretty Peacock ink. The Basic Beige sentiment label and the Basic Beige square were ink splattered with a Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Blend. The square was then adhered to the Pretty Peacock square.

Using the Peaceful Evergreens Dies, I die cut a small and medium-sized detailed evergreen from Gold Mercury Vellum Specialty Paper and I die cut a small and medium-sized solid evergreen images from a Pretty Peacock and gold print from the Regal Distressed Patterns Specialty Designer Series Paper. The detailed velum evergreen trees were adhered to their corresponding solid trees, then the trees were adhered to the Pretty Peacock and Basic Beige square unit. This was then adhered to the right side of the card front at an angle using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment label was adhered to the left side of the card front at an angle using a combination of liquid glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On the inside panel, I stamped the “Merry” and “Christmas” sentiments from the Peaceful Season Stamp Set in Pretty Peacock ink. I used the smallest evergreen stamp from the Peaceful Evergreens Stamp Set to stamp trees at the bottom of the panel. I stamped the first tree in Pretty Peacock ink then without reinking I stamped the tree once again. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

I repeated stamping of the evergreen trees on the envelope front and a coordinating piece of specialty designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap. I used the dark shade of a Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blend to color three Drusy Adhesive-Backed Embellishments, and these were adhered to the card front.

I love incorporating shine and shimmer into my holiday cards and these specialty designer series papers used here worked out great! I mean, how pretty is all of that gold! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
