It’s Thursday and time once again for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. If you are hopping over from Terry Lynn’s blog or you are starting off with my blog…welcome! I’m excited to see what everyone has created for today so let’s dive in!

This Faux Tile card was created using the Sea Turtle Stamp Set and the Unbounded Love Bundle. I love a paneled card, and this was easy to create!
We have a sketch challenge for today’s Hop…

The underwater scene on the card front was created by stamping on a panel measuring 4-1/2″ x 3″. I first stamped the large turtle image from the Sea Turtle Stamp Set using Coastal Cabana and Pool Party inks. The large bubble image was then used to partially second-generation stamp bubbles across the panel in Balmy Blue ink. I then stamped several schools of fish in Pretty Peacock ink. The panel was then cut into a total of six squares measuring 1-1/2″. These squares, or tiles, were adhered to Pretty Peacock mats measuring 1-5/8″ square. The squares were then adhered to a Coastal Cabana mat measuring 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″.

Before adhering the panel unit to the card front, I wrapped Linen Thread around the center of the panel two times then tied a knot on the left side of the panel. I then looped Linen Thread about four times then tied a knot around the center of the loops. From the Sea Turtle Stamp Set I stamped the large starfish image in Calypso Coral ink, then the fill was stamped in second-generation Peach Pie ink. The image was fussy cut then adhered to the left side of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals just below the looped thread. The “Hope” sentiment from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set was stamped onto a piece of white cardstock in Pretty Peacock ink. The smallest circle label from the Unbounded Love Dies was used to cut out the sentiment. The sentiment was then adhered to the left side of the card front – just to the right of the looped thread. The panel was adhered to a Coastal Cabana mat then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside panel, I stamped an additional sentiment from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set in Pretty Peacock ink. Two starfish were stamped onto the lower corner of the panel in Calypso Coral and Peach Pie inks, then I stamped two schools of fish above the starfish in Pretty Peacock ink. The panel was then adhered to a Coastal Cabana mat, then adhered to the inside of the card.

Two starfish were stamped onto the envelope front and I third generation stamped the bubbles in Balmy Blue ink across the corner of the envelope. A single starfish was stamped onto the envelope flap. Three Petal Pink Foiled Gems were added to the card front to complete the project.

I almost went with a floral theme for this card but I’m so glad I pulled out the Sea Turtle Stamp Set! It is one of my favorites! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
