It is that time again! Time for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! If you’re hopping over from Terry Lynn’s blog or you are starting off with my blog…Welcome! I know we are going to see some great inspiration in the Hop today so be sure to use the links below to check out the other blogs.
My card for today was created using the Thoughtful Expressions Stamp Set and the Delicate Forest Dies. I added a little coloring and fussy cutting to create this pretty garden all occasion card.

We have a theme challenge for today’s Hop and that was to create a card or project using birds. I couldn’t think of a more perfect bird than the hummingbird in the Thoughtful Expressions Stamp Set.

Using the small floral image in the Thoughtful Expressions Stamp Set, I stamped this image repeatedly in Lemon Lime Twist ink on the front of a Lemon Lime Twist card base. I then used the large leaf frame from the Delicate Forest Dies to cut out a frame measuring 5-1/4″ x 4″ from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. The frame was then adhered to the card front. The tone-on-tone card front will allow the brightly colored hummingbird and flowers to really stand out!

From the Thoughtful Expressions Stamp Set I stamped the image of the hummingbird and flowers in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a piece of Basic White cardstock. I used Stampin’ Blends in Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo, Shy Shamrock, Shaded Spruce and Blueberry Bushel to color in the images. I then used a pair of paper snips to fussy cut the images. Two leaf sprigs were die cut from Shaded Spruce cardstock and these were adhered to the lower left of the card front. The fussy cut flowers were adhered in the same corner using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The hummingbird was adhered to the card front using a combination of Stampin’ Dimensioanls and a little liquid glue on the bird’s beak. A sentiment was added to the upper right of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I kept the inside panel very simple and stamped the small floral image from the Thoughtful Expressions Stamp Set multiple times in the upper right and lower left corners using Lemon Lime Twist and Shaded Spruce inks. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

Since no designer series paper was used on the card, I repeated stamping of the small floral image on both the envelope front and envelope flap. I used the dark shade of a Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blend to color in multiple Rhinestones. Three Rhinestones were added to each of the flower centers on the card front and one was added to the sentiment label. To finish up I added a small white Diagonal Trim bow to the left of the sentiment.

The Thoughtful Expressions Stamp Set is one of my favorites! You can find both the Thoughtful Expressions Stamp Set and the Delicate Forest Dies in the Online Store. If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
