Inky Bee Stampers

Today’s card was created using the Poised Peony Stamp Set and the beautiful Lily Pond Lane 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. The Poised Peony Stamp Set is a stand along stamp set in the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog. This card comes together quickly and involves a little coloring and fussy cutting.

I first started by adhering a Pretty in Pink check panel from the Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper to the front of an Early Espresso card base. A second designer series panel in a Peach Pie dotted print from the Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper was cut to 3″ square, then matted to a piece of Early Espresso cardstock. This panel unit was adhered to the center of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the large peony image from the Poised Peony Stamp Set onto a scrap piece of white cardstock in Early Espresso ink. I used Pretty in Pink and Peach Pie Stampin’ Blends to color in the flower petals. The Peach Pie Stampin’ Blend was used to shade the petals. The leaves were colored in using Shy Shamrock Stampin’ Blends. You may notice that the remaining white space on the stamped image was colored in using the light shade of a Peach Pie Stampin’ Blend. This is a great technique that helps the background of the image recede into the background of the designer series paper. I used a pair of paper snips to fussy cut the image then adhered the flower to the square panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment label was stamped onto a piece of white cardstock in Early Espresso, and I used the second from smallest circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut out the sentiment. A short length of Pretty in Pink Bordered Ribbon was adhered to the back of the label using Stampin’ Seal then the sentiment label was adhered to the lower right of the square panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The medium sized peony image was stamped onto the lower left of the inside panel in Early Espresso ink. The image was colored in using Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie and Shy Shamrock Stampin’ Blends. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

The same medium sized peony image was stamped onto the envelope front and colored in using the same Stampin’ Blend colors. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I used a pair of paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. To finish up the card I adhered three Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins to the card front.

The pretty image of the peonies and the Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper make this a very cheerful card. Need a birthday card? Stamp a birthday sentiment on the inside of the card!
