It’s time for the monthly Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! I’m looking forward to seeing what my team members have created for today’s Hop!

The theme this month is “for the boys/men” and we can interpret that any way that we would like. I pulled out my Gone Fishing Stamp Set and Gone Fishing Dies to create this masculine retirement card!
I used a woodgrain print in Gray Granite from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper measuring 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ then die cut this panel using the tackle box die from the Gone Fishing Dies to cut out the outline shape of the tackle box. This frame was then glued to the front of a Gray Granite card base. I then used the same die to die cut the tackle box frame from a piece of Misty Moonlight. The tackle box frame was then adhered to the card front and nestles against the woodgrain frame. The unused pieces from these die cuts were set aside for use on a future project.

I used the two-step stamps from the Gone Fishing Stamp Set to stamp three bobbers and two fishing lures onto white cardstock. I stamped the bobbers in Real Red and the fishing lures in Misty Moonlight and Lemon Lime Twist inks. I used the coordinating Gone Fishing Dies to cut out the images. Using the same die set I cut out several hooks and fishing lure pieces from silver and copper Textured Metallic Specialty Paper. The die cut pieces were then glued into the five different sections of the fishing tackle box on the card front. I also added a coiled-up piece of Pebbled Path Jute to one of the compartments. The “Happy Retirement” sentiment was stamped onto a piece of white cardstock in Misty Moonlight ink, and I used the large tackle box die to cut out the sentiment then glued the sentiment into place.
On the inside panel, I used the two-step stamps to stamp two fish in Misty Moonlight and Lemon Lime Twist inks, then I second generation stamped the water image around the fish in Misty Moonlight. The panel was adhered to a Misty Moonlight mat, then adhered to the inside of the card.

I repeated stamping of the fish and water images on the envelope front, and I adhered a piece of coordinating designer series paper to the envelope flap and trimmed the excess paper away from the flap using a pair of paper snips to finish up the card.

I have owned the Gone Fishing Stamp Set and Dies for a while but I never created a card using the tackle box die…this was so much fun! This set would make a great Father’s Day card, too (Father’s Day sentiments are included!). Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I hope you enjoyed my project for today’s hop!
