Stampin’ Up! Country Birdhouse Treat Box

As soon as I saw the Country Birdhouse Bundle I knew I wanted to create a treat box using the birdhouse die from the bundle! It took a bit of figuring and some trial and error, but I came up with a 1-1/2″ treat box that fits exactly between two of the birdhouse images. The treat box will fit some M&M’s or other small treats that you can gift to a friend to brighten their day!

I won’t go into all of the details on this blog post, but I do provide detailed instructions on the linked pdf tutorial below! Hopefully my instructions will make it easy for you to recreate this treat box for yourself.

I started off by cutting a piece of cardstock to 6-1/2″ x 5″ to create the center treat box that sits between the two birdhouses. This cardstock piece was scored on both the 6-1/2″ and 5″ sides as indicated below. I then made cuts along the red dotted lines.

Once all of the cuts were made, the box looks like this.

I then used Tear & Tape to assemble first the sides of the box to form a tube, then I folded the bottom pieces in and secured the bottom of the box with Tear & Tape.

I cut a 1″ x 1/2″ piece of cardstock and scored it at 1/2″. This creates a tab that gets attached to the box lid to aid in opening the box once it is assembled in between the two birdhouses.

I used the Country Birdhouse Dies to cut two birdhouses from cardstock and two birdhouses from designer series paper. I also cut out a birdhouse base, roof and trim pieces for the birdhouses. Flowers were also die cut and assembled. This is the back of the birdhouse treat box.

A sentiment was die cut using the Stylish Shapes Dies and I stamped the “hello friend” sentiment in Balmy Blue ink. The label was then adhered to the front of the birdhouse towards the base. The assembled flowers were adhered around one side of the sentiment label and a small bow was added to the top of the birdhouse.

Here is a side view of the treat box.

I hope you’ll give this project a try! If you would like to recreate this treat box you can download, save and print the detailed pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
