Stampin’ Up! Cake Fancy Birthday Card

Today’s card was created using the Cake Fancy Stamp Set and the Flowering Zinnias 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. The Cake Fancy Stamp Set is such a fun set to use as you can build your own delicious desert! I chose a checked print in Blackberry Bliss and Gorgeous Grape from the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper. This paper will be available as an Online Exclusive in the online store on March 5.

I adhered a panel of the designer series paper to a Lemon Lolly mat, then adhered this to the front of a Blackberry Bliss card base. On a scrap piece of white cardstock measuring approximately 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ I first stamped the cake stand image in Blackberry Bliss ink. The cake was stamped next in Pecan Pie ink, then the berries image was stamped two times across the top of the cake in Gorgeous Grape ink. I used the largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut out the image. The circle was adhered towards the top of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a small piece of white card stock I stamped the sentiments “time for” and “Cake” in Gorgeous Grape ink and used the second from smallest circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut out. The next size circle was cut from Lemon Lolly cardstock and the sentiment label was matted to this. Before adhering the sentiment label to the card front, I adhered a loose double Linen Thread Bow to the card front, just below the lower right of the cake circle, then adhered the sentiment label over the bow using a double stack of Stampin’ Dimensionals.

An additional sentiment was stamped onto the inside panel. The cake slice image was stamped onto the lower corner in Pecan Pie ink and the berries were stamped on top of the cake in Gorgeous Grape ink. The panel was adhered to a Lemon Lolly mat, then adhered to the inside of the card.

The same cake slice image and berries image was stamped onto the envelope front. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I used paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. Three purple Glossy Dots were added to the card front to finish up the card.

This was a fun stamp set to use and I found the images very easy to line up to make for some easy stamping! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
