Stampin’ Up! Sneak Peek – Encircled in Nature Masculine Birthday Card

It can sometimes be difficult to create masculine cards, but the Encircled in Nature Bundle is perfect for the job! I used some colors on this card that might be unexpected…but they work well together to create this nature-themed card! Of course, the Encircled in Nature Bundle would create beautiful cards for anyone that loves the outdoors – not just the guys!

I chose a medallion patterned paper from the Poetic Expressions 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper pack in Lost Lagoon and white. I adhered a panel of the designer series paper to a mat in Wild Wheat, then adhered this to the front of a Pecan Pie card base. Using the Encircled in Nature Dies, I die cut the pine trees from Pretty Peacock cardstock, the pine boughs from Early Espresso cardstock and the wreath was cut from white cardstock then colored with Wild Wheat and Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends.

I used the Deckled Circles Dies to cut out the circle from white cardstock. Blending Brushes were used to blend Pecan Pie ink onto the lower third of the circle, and Lost Lagoon on the upper two thirds of the circle. Using the Lasting Joy Stamp Set, I stamped the birthday sentiment onto the upper right of the circle in Pecan Pie ink. The die cut pine trees, wreath and pine boughs were then adhered to the circle. Before adhering the circle to the card front, I first attached two short lengths of the Gold Faux Leather Trim to the lower right of the card front. Knots were tied at the end of each length of the trim. The circle was then adhered to the center of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside panel, I stamped a second sentiment from the Lasting Joy Stamp Set in Pecan Pie ink. Without reinking my Blending Brushes, I blended Pecan Pie ink onto the lower left corner of the panel, then blended Lost Lagoon ink just above the Pecan Pie ink. The pine tree image from the Encircled in Nature Stamp Set was stamped several times over the ink blended area using Pretty Peacock ink and I staggered the height of the trees. The panel was then adhered to a Wild Wheat mat, then adhered to the inside of the card.

Without reinking my Blending Brushes, I blended Pecan Pie ink onto the lower left corner of the envelope front, then blended Lost Lagoon ink just above the Pecan Pie. The pine tree image was partially stamped several times over the ink blended area in Pretty Peacock ink. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I used my paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap to complete the card.

I am looking forward to creating more projects using the Encircled in Nature Bundle! There are many more stamps and dies included in the bundle that I did not use on this card so another play date in the future is in order! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
