Softly Sophisticated Valentine’s Day Card

I created this card using the Softly Sophisticated Bundle and the Adoring Hearts Bundle.  This pretty Valentine uses only two cardstock colors and two ink colors for a classic look.  The Softly Sophisticated Bundle includes a stamp set and embossing folder and you can earn this bundle for free during Sale-A-Bration with a purchase of $100 or more!  The two step stamps from the Softly Sophisticated Stamp Set create delicate flowers and leaves and are just beautiful!  The die cut hearts and sentiments are from the Adoring Hearts Bundle.  Let’s get started!

I used the Softly Sophisticated Embossing Folder to emboss a white cardstock panel measuring 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″. The embossed panel was then adhered to the front of a Real Red card base. On a white cardstock panel measuring 5-1/8″ x 2″, I used the two step stamps from the Softly Sophisticated Stamp Set to stamp the leaf stems in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and the flowers in Real Red ink. The leaves and flowers were stamped two times vertically on the panel. The panel was then adhered to a Real Red mat and a short length of Black & White Gingham Ribbon was wrapped around the unit horizontally. The panel was then adhered to the left side of the card front. I made sure to leave a small reveal on the bottom, left and top of the 2″ stamped panel.

Using the Adoring Hearts Dies, I die cut a solid heart from Real Red cardstock and a decorative heart from Basic White cardstock. The white heart was adhered to the red heart and then adhered to the center of the stamped panel of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside panel I chose two sentiments from the Adoring Hearts Stamp Set and stamped these in Real Red ink. I stamped the same leaf and flowers from the Softly Sophisticated Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and Real Red ink, respectively. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

The same two step leaves and flowers were stamped onto the envelope front and the small decorative heart from the Adoring Hearts Stamp Set was stamped onto the center of the envelope flap in Real Red ink. I bow was tied from the Black & White Gingham Ribbon and adhered to the side of the stamped panel on the card front using a Mini Glue Dot. I used the dark shade of a Real Red Stampin’ Blend to color three small rhinestones and these were placed onto the stamped panel to complete the project.

The Softly Sophisticated Bundle and the Adoring Hearts Bundle combined beautifully to make this lovely Valentine’s Day card. I hope you enjoyed the project! If you would like to recreate this card, you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below. Have a wonderful day!
