Stampin’ Up! Trusty Tools Fun Fold Masculine Birthday Card

Sometimes it is difficult to create a masculine card, but the Trusty Tools Bundle and the Trusty Toolbox 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper make it easy! I created this masculine birthday card using these products, along with a few other products. The Trusty Toolbox 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper is a Sale-A-Bration item. This means that if you place a $50 order during Sale-A-Bration, this paper can be yours for free!

I started off with a Night of Navy cardbase measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. On the long side, I scored the cardstock at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4″. The 2-18″ score line was folded as a mountain fold and the 4-1/4″ score line was folded as a valley fold to create the fun fold. I chose a Lost Lagoon solid print from the Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper pack and adhered panels to the 2-1/8″ front of the card, as well as the larger inside panel of the card base. I chose a graph paper print from the Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper to die cut a rectangle for the front panel using the Deckled Rectangles Dies.

On a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the “Make a Wish” sentiment from the Hooray for Surprises Stamp Set in Poppy Parade ink. I used the smallest rectangle die from the Deckled Rectangles Dies to cut out the sentiment. The sentiment was then matted to a piece of Night of Navy cardstock.

The paint brush image from the Trusty Tools Stamp Set was also stamped onto a scrap of Basic White Cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. The paintbrush image was colored in with Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie, Smoky Slate and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends and then I used the coordinating die from the Trusty Tools Dies to cut out the image. A short length of Linen Thread was threaded through the hole on the top of the paintbrush and I tied a knot.

I place the sentiment label and die cut paintbrush onto the graph paper rectangle to get an idea of placement. I then stamped the paint splotch image in Poppy Parade ink just below where the paintbrush will sit on the panel. The panel was adhered to a Night of Navy mat. I then adhered the paintbrush and sentiment label to the panel. The panel was then adhered to the 2-1/8″ wide front panel by apply liquid adhesive to just the left portion of the panel. With the card base fully closed, the panel was adhered to the card front and centered from top to bottom and left to right.

On the inside panel, I partially stamped the paintbrush image using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored the image with Stampin’ Blends as I did for the card front. I stamped an additional sentiment from the Hooray for Surprises Stamp Set at the top of the panel in Poppy Parade ink, then adhered the panel to the inside of the card base, making sure that the inside panel would be hidden once the card was fully closed.

The paintbrush image was again stamped and colored onto the envelope front. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I used a pair of paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. To finish up the card, I adhered several Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots to the card front.

I love that Stampin’ Up! has options for creating masculine cards! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.

Wishing you a wonderful day!
