Stampin’ Up! Trusty Tools Masculine Birthday Card

This fun masculine birthday card was created using the Trusty Tools Bundle and the Trusty Toolbox 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. You will find the Trusty Tools Bundle in the new January-April 2024 Mini Catalog or in the online store and you can earn the Trusty Toolbox 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper during Sale-A-Bration for free with a $50 purchase! Here is a bonus…the dies in the Trusty Tools Dies set cut out the tools on the Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper! I love when Stampin’ Up! gives us this flexibility!

I started with a striped panel print from the Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper and adhered this to a mat in Pretty Peacock. This was then adhered to the front of a Crushed Curry standard card base. I used my 2″ Circle Punch to punch out a circle using a different pattern from the designer series paper pack and this was adhered to the upper left corner of the card front.

Using the Trusty Tools Dies, I die cut a pencil, wrench, hammer and tape measure. I also die cut the toolbox and toolbox handle from Crumb Cake cardstock. I used a blending brush to antique the toolbox and handle using Early Espresso ink. I fussy cut the level using a pair of paper snips. The pencil was adhered on a diagonal across the punched out circle on the card front.

I stamped the “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the Something Fancy Stamp Set onto a Crumb Cake sentiment label using Early Espresso ink. A Blending Brush was used to antique the edges of the label with Early Espresso ink. I then cut a banner on the right side of the sentiment label, then adhered it to the top left of the card – overlapping the punched circle and pencil.

The handle was attached to the toolbox and then the toolbox was adhered to the lower right of the card front. The die cut tools were then tucked into the toolbox and held in place using a small amount of liquid glue. I looped Linen Thread several times and tucked the thread inside of the toolbox as well. After all, every handyman, or woman, needs a length of twine once in a while!

On the inside panel, an additional sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink. The image of the paint brush was stamped on the lower corner of the panel in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and I used Stampin’ Blends in Crumb Cake, Gray Granite and Lost Lagoon to color in the image. The panel was adhered to another Pretty Peacock panel, then adhered to the inside of the card.

Small Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots were added to both sides of the toolbox on the card front and a large dot was added to the right of the sentiment label. The same paintbrush image was stamped onto the front of the envelope flap and colored in using Stampin’ Blends. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap, and I used a pair of paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap to finish off the card.

If you have a handy guy or gal in your life, you’ll want to grab up the Trusty Tools Bundle. If you purchase this bundle, you will earn the Trusty Toolbox 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper during Sale-A-Bration for free! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.

    1. Hi Ginger. I had an issue with the link early yesterday morning but corrected the problem. Please go to my website directly at http://www.inkybeestampers.com and click on the oval graphic again for the pdf tutorial. It is working fine for me. If you are clicking on the graphic from email, you will not be able to access the tutorial. Thank you!
