Stampin’ Up! Sneak Peek! Wild Ferns Thank You Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! Thanks so much for stopping by! I’m looking forward to seeing all of the projects in the Hop today. I created my card for today using the Wild Ferns Bundle, some dry embossing and a little ink blending. The Wild Ferns Bundle is from the upcoming January-April 2024 Mini Catalog and will be available on January 4, 2024. Let’s take a look!

We have a color challenge for today. I was able to use four of the colors for the challenge on my card – Crushed Curry, Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green and Blueberry Bushel.

I started off by embossing a white panel measuring 5″ x 3-3/4″ using the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. The panel was then ink blended. I used a blending brush to first blend Crushed Curry in the upper left corner of the panel, followed by Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce and Blueberry Bushel for a light-to-dark effect. The panel was then adhered to a Granny Apple Green mat. A length of Herringbone Ribbon was wrapped around the bottom of the panel and the ends of the ribbon were secured to the back using a small amount of Stampin’ Seal.

Using the Wild Ferns Dies, I die cut three fern pieces each from Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce and Blueberry Bushel cardstock. I also used the three sentiment labels from the Wild Ferns Dies to cut out a small label from white cardstock, a medium sized label from Granny Apple Green cardstock and a large label from Shaded Spruce cardstock. The “Thank you” sentiment was stamped onto the white label in Shaded Spruce ink and was then adhered to the Granny Apple Green label, and then the Shaded Spruce label to create a double matted sentiment label. This was then adhered over the wrapped ribbon and positioned to the right.

The die cut fern pieces were adhered to the embossed and ink blended panel with the Granny Apple Green pieces adhered along the top of the sentiment label, the Shaded Spruce fern pieces adhered along the left side of the sentiment label and the Blueberry Bushel fern pieces adhered along the bottom of the sentiment label. The panel was then adhered to the front of a Shaded Spruce card base.

On the inside panel, I stamped an additional sentiment in Shaded Spruce. Three of the fern images from the Wild Ferns Stamp Set were selected and stamped onto the lower corner of the panel. I first stamped one of the images in Crushed Curry, followed by Granny Apple Green and then Shaded Spruce for a layered arrangement. The panel was adhered to a Granny Apple Green mat and then adhered to the inside of the card base.

The same fern images were partially stamped onto the envelope front in Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce. On the envelope flap I stamped a single fern image horizontally in Granny Apple Green. I colored multiple rhinestones using the dark shades of Stampin’ Blends in Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce and Blueberry Bushel. The rhinestones were adhered to the card front with each colored gem placed in close proximity to the die cut fern pieces. An additional rhinestone in Shaded Spruce was placed directly onto the sentiment label.

I really wasn’t sure where I was going with this color challenge but I’m pleased with how the card turned out. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about the process and thanks again for stopping by my blog!
