Stampin’ Up! Cottage Wreaths Giving Thanks Card for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

It’s time for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop! If you are hopping over from Akiko’s blog or starting off the Hop from my blog today, welcome and thanks for stopping by! Our theme for the Hop this month is “Giving Thanks”, and we can interpret this any way that we’d like. I know you will see a lot of inspiration from my team members in the Hop today so be sure to use the links at the bottom of this blog post to check them out! Let’s go!

I created this card using the Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set, Joy of Christmas 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and the Timber 3D Embossing Folder along with a little help from the Deckled Rectangles Dies and the Stylish Shapes Dies. This card worked up quickly and would make an equally pretty Thanksgiving card, thinking of you card, or Christmas card!

Note that the left edge of the card in the photo above looks wavy…it’s not. It is an optical illusion. There is a wave in the wood grain print and it is making the card edge look wavy!

From the Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper I embossed a piece of the wood grain print using the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. This panel was then added to the front of a Very Vanilla card base. I then used the 4th largest die from the Deckled Rectangles Dies to cut out a rectangle from Cherry Cobbler cardstock. A Shaded Spruce plaid print from the same paper (it’s actually the reverse of the wood grain print) was die cut with the 4th to smallest Deckled Rectangle Die. I adhered the plaid print to the Cherry Cobbler rectangle, then adhered this unit to the middle of the card front.

On a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the twig wreath image from the Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set in Early Espresso ink. I then stamped the 3-berry image in Cherry Cobbler ink to stamp berries all around the wreath. While there are coordinating dies to the Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set – I opted for something different and instead used the 2nd to largest and 2nd to smallest circle dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut out the wreath. I also die cut one bow from Cherry Cobbler cardstock using the Country Wreath Dies. The bow was adhered to the top of the wreath.

The wreath was then attached to the card front towards the top of the plaid rectangle using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the “grateful” sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and used the smallest banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut out. The sentiment was adhered just under the wreath using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Multiple red and gold Festive Pearls were adhered around the wreath.

For the inside of the card I 3rd generation stamped the twig wreath using Early Espresso ink and an additional sentiment was stamped over this image in Cherry Cobbler ink. I stamped one of the greenery images from the Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set in Shaded Spruce onto the lower corner of the panel. The panel was adhered to a Cherry Cobbler mat then adhered to the inside of the card.

The same greenery image was stamped onto the envelope front and a piece of coordinating Shaded Spruce plaid paper was adhered to the envelope flap with the excess paper trimmed away from the flap.

I hope you enjoyed my card for the hop today! If you would like to recreate this card click on the image below to download, save or print the pdf tutorial.
